Trailhead is near the entrance of Yosemite tioga pass entrance. The trail is relatively easy to follow as it meanders up to the summit of Dana. Moderate + in difficulty as you do ascend up to near 13 thousand feet

Amazing hike with beautiful view of mono pond at the top. 360 degree view on top of the mountain. Altitude can be a difficulty, since it is a little bit over 4000 meters high. Takes somewhere between 4-7 hours to complete, depending on your speed. The trail can be a bit difficult to follow at one point so be cautious not to lose it. Overall I highly recommend this hike!

It didn't look as high as it truly is, but it's over 10,000 feet. I had a hard time while hiking due to its high altitude, but when I arrived at the top, all the difficulty I've had till then was forgettable. View from the top of this mountain was the best view among all Yosemite's trail for me. You can view all the mountains in Yosemite national park thru Sierra Nevada. And you are able to see Mono lake in a glance. I want to recommend this trail for all of those who like hiking Yosemite.

I did my first single hike here. Took me 5 hours for the round trip, gets windy and cold after mid point, trail isn't very obvious, needed to be careful. Nice place to go, specially when you make it to the top.

6 miles and 4000 ft of elevation gain. Amazing views of Mono Lake and Yosemite from the top.

Difficult hike-short but very steep. Trailhead isn't exactly advertised, but starts across from the ranger station at the Tioga Pass entrance to Yosemite. Parking available outside of the park. Views made the strenuous trip worthwhile

There are some stupendous views from the top of Mount Dana, especially of Mono Lake. It is one of the shortest in trail distance with so little people on it. Both times I've hiked it saw maybe 20-30 people the whole day. This is not an easy hike at all tho. The 5.2 mile round trip sounds easy but you are climbing almost 3000 feet in elevation, there is not one spot in the entire trail where you are not going up and it's not a gradual climb either. It's steep. To add to the challenge you start at almost 10,000 feet in elevation, so if you think 3,000 feet of climbing is easy, Tioga pass has already sucked the air out of you as you get out of the car. I would recommend anyone who is doing it for the first time to add 2-3 hours to what they expect because Mount Dana will surprise you on ow much effort she takes. Start early because the wind always picks up as the day goes on and every hour the up draft gets stronger. I would totally recommend this to anyone who feels in shape to do it and has the determination to not let a "small" climb defeat them.

Physically very hard due to very steep climb like 4k feet in less than 2 miles. The view is on the other side of the summit and i expected little bit more of it. Dis the hike because its second highest peak in Yosemite
