Crazy busy on the Sunday before the Eclipse! Good sign to stay away from this area during a huge event and/or on a weekend. Very nice Lock to be able to stop and see (if you can find a parking spot).

Beautiful doesn't say enough about this place. Nice ramp to launch you paddle craft. Was just built. You can ride the train here. You can play in the white water here. There is just so much to do. There are hiking trails and bicycle trails, an old boat lock. Don't miss this place. I have fallen in love with it. In the Summer and on weekends parking will be a premium, you may have to park in one of many pay lots.

Great low key trail. Hike for 15 minutes or 3 hours. Up to you. Recommend bringing a bathing suit in warm weather as there are several swimming holes at the riverbank. Also nice history of the canal and locks. Parking can be challenged but there is an overflow lot down the block. Peninsula is a cute town.

Historical area. This lock is one of many stops for the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. Great access to the tow path. South to Deep Lock Quarry, North to Station Road Bridge. Walking or biking, either way is nice. Great point to start kayaks. Clean restrooms, ample parking

This is a great section of the towpath & it's conveniently by one of the stops for the CVNP railroad. You can head south & you'll end up at Deep Lock quarry or head north & you'll end up at Station Road Bridge. Either way the views are magnificent.

The trail is pretty wet and muddy in some places but it was an easy hike over all. Walked into Peninsula and saw lock 29 and then went back to see the quarry. I would recommend wearing boots for a bit until the trails dry out unless you frequently run here then just wear tennis shoes.

Such of great paths ! Part of the Cuyahoga Valley National Parks , amazing ! There are some art galleries , great place to take a Walk and also you can bring your bikes , you can literally bike all the way to Cleveland, the train passes all the time you can ride with your bike on it and then come back , check the calendar since because of the Covid , might not run all the time , the winking lizard restaurant is real close , you can have great food while you wait And even take a taste of the local brews, witch Ohio has a huge variety of them ,, places to rent bikes are available, make sure check the schedules , summer season is upon us , guidelines to travel applying all the time, you will have fun visiting this amazing park system, some people even bring their kayaks! Tons of places around here to do so .

Good place at CVNP. You get a nice and close view of the Cuyahoga river. Some people do fishing here as well. The parking lot is small though.

Great starting point for a ride or hike on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath in the CVNP. Beautiful river views as you ride north or south. There are several canal locks in good condition to view. Located in Peninsula OH. There are two good restaurants for lunch or dinner. There are a couple bike shops that offer rentals as well as a few shops to browse through. You can also board the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railway when it’s running.

The peninsula train stop for the train ride. Beautiful place. We got on the train ride from here. You can get tickets from here for the train ride into Cuyahoga national park. There are multiple parking lots .. many trails starting from here .. it's a good place for a family getaway

Very cool place. You can explore an old mill foundation. See an old lock and aquaduct. They have nice signage that shows what construction looked like with history and facts about the geography. Signage talks about how ships moved up and down the aquaduct to and from Akron

Breath taking and you can just relax hearing the rushing waters of the Cuyahoga. Our piece of paradise in The Cleveland / Akron area in The Great Stare Of Ohio. What a place to ride bikes, walk, run, and get lunch. Bike rentals if needed.

One of the best trailheads in the national park. Very busy so get there early if you want to avoid overflow parking. Great option for parking and walking to vendors in Peninsula without paying to park.

It's a great place to access the towpath! There's ample parking (with an overflow lot too). There are also restrooms with a water fountain too. The path is quite scenic here too!

It's not only beautiful, but it's paved and allows for less of a clean up on those muddy days when I've got my pups!

Beautiful views of the river. Great hiking and biking trails along the canal. Right next to the train stop. Plenty of parking. Very well upkept.
