Strange Design Public House

Dinner last night Strange Design. Excellent food, drink and service. Had their wheat beer, tasty and crisp. Wings as appetizers were fat and flavorful. Was only going to have one but …We had their double battered chick sandwich, harvest salad with chick and one of their burger plates. Good atmosphere. Excellent service. Will be back.

Tried them when they first opened and wasn't impressed but when I won a gift card here recently I tried it again and was blown away. We went again within a week and enjoyed this meal even more than the last. They've definitely improved their menu and their beer options have something for everyone, which is hard to find at small breweries. The building is very cool too! We had the Pittsburgh Salad, Mac & Cheese, & Pork Nachos on special. We've also tried the poutine and burger and both were great.

My 1st time here was excellent! The renovations to the building are incredible. It has a long past and they do a great job nodding to it's history while still keeping the feel modern. The ambience is awesome and the staff are so great. Now it's my 2nd time and the beers, food etc are 2/2 great. I will come back here as often as possible.

We've been here several times, and have enjoyed the different beers on tap and the menu items. Plus it's a very unique place. The restoration of this old building is incredible. Great job! See

We love going to Strange Design and sitting at the bar. There is great artwork to look at all over and so many great beers to choose from. Had the chicken sandwich tonight and it was delicious! And Adam is always so friendly. We look forward to seeing him when we go.

The history and old school design of this building are reason enough to visit. Their beers are fantastic and the food is just as good, never been disappointed. Last night the bartender was Ryan who was very personable and friendly. She also had several good viewing suggestions and she should know I started Severance and that was a great call. Visit this place at once

We visited Strange Design 9/22. We stayed next door at the Oak Valley Inn so it was convenient. Vincent was our very attentive waiter! Vincent was also very informative about the rich history of the building and its transformation into the brewery. Our food was great and the beer was tasty. I would highly recommend!

This place was only open for 3 days when I stopped in. I was very impressed. There is so much potential here. All the staff were great and super engaging. At this point in time they only had four beers on tap, so I got a flight of all four and everything was good. There weren't any there were knock-your-socks-off good, but they were all totally fine. I did not get food, but all the folks around me did and everything looked and smelled amazing. The space is incredible. Very rustic, but bright! It works well. I love seeing that this building has new life. You can guarantee I'll be back soon. I can't wait to see where this place goes. Highly recommend checking them out.

Outstanding, was my first time here. Prior to my visit I heard about their Thursday special. Burger fries and a pint of beer for $15. Ya can’t beat that
Got there shortly after they opened. Ordered a pint. From a nice selection. Got the twist around porter. Very good brew. I just may have to get a growler of it The burger. “The sweet one” cooked to perfection and was exceptionally delicious. I’ll definitely be going back.
The staff being super friendly. And able to strike up conversations about grilling , sauces and such

Had the meat and cheese platter and it was very good. We had a couple beers each and of a few different styles. Every one was a good representation of style wth more hops than usual.

Very cool space. Adam the bartender was very nice, attentive and knowledgeable of the beers as well as the historical building. The beers are solid. The American Wheat was a stand out. The Spicy Nuggs in the flight was sweet to me.. Adam assumed me a pint would give me a little heat.

Food wise.. The fried banana peppers were amazing. ❤ I also had the steak fingers with gravy. As a southern girl from Texas this hit the spot. They were strips were cut in house and breaded. Not frozen! Cesar side salad was adverage. My husband says the rubun was outstanding. Worth a stop for a beer and a bite.

This place has really nice atmosphere and will certainly come back in the evening too. Delicious food and friendly service. I was pleasantly surprised how quick our food came out, making it perfect for lunch. They also shared the history of the old building that had a lot of charm! Look forward to coming back!

Try the short rib poutine. Trust me babe.

Stayed at the Bed And Breakfast next door. We were too tired to travel anywhere so we figured we would give this place a try. It was phenomenal! Food was excellent , bartenders were excellent- friendly, attentive great sales acumen. Met the manager and he was super friendly too.

Buffalo wings , hot, were outstanding . Crispy and perfectly sauced , and the short rib poutine was surreal. Rest of the menu looked great . Real nice atmosphere and beers on tap were incredible.

We will return as many times as possible even though we live 7 hrs away. Im praying my kid goes to college here. So we can come back again soon .

Stopped into strange design for a quick bite and some beers. The building is so cute! I was not expecting a cool brewery to be inside! They did a really good job decorating to not make it feel too old, but still keep the charm of the older building. The beers and wings were very excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Stopped before grabbing our usual grocery pick up and it happened to be burger and a beer night. Burgers were delicious and the fries were fresh cut and hot. Service phenomenal and the beers were delicious. Atmosphere is great. You can tell the owner and staff take pride in this beautiful historic building

Absolutely love this place! Food was excellent! Rueben had the most tender meat, chicken wings huge and crispy, cauliflower app was unique and so tasty! Beer selection was huge. We tried 6 different ones (they do flights) and each one was excellent. I love a good Scottish ale and they had two!. Very cool building. Very unique. Go here!

Went there earlier this week for the first time for wing night and was great! Some of the best wings I have had in a while and a great variety of craft beers as well. Will definitely be going back soon!

Love this place! Great food and beer! The menu here has some unique dishes but also puts their own spin on some delicious classics. The beer is great and I love that the ingredients are locally sourced. The staff and setting make SD an awesome dining experience! You’ve got to check it out!

Front steps can be a challenge! Numerous different flavors to try. Don't expect a $2 beer- these are craft beers- but well worth the price! Chicken wings are excellent! Try a flight! Large tastings of 4 different beers. Repurposed Old,Spooky Poorhouse of Livingston County!
