My son has been going to arborwood north since first grade. His teacher Mrs.Bianchi is a wonderful teacher and the principal has always been very helpful. I will say my experience with his kindergarten teacher was not the best because she had a major health problem.

I'm new to Monroe and my children are new to this school...somehow I feel like the way that thing's are being ran in this district is a bit backwards. My oldest child has band early in the morning. Which is also odd because these types of thing's are usually held after school but I'm not complaining that's fine. My son has to be at the bus stop at 7:10am his bus usually arrives at 7:20am which is also fine....My oldest bus stop sits at the corner of the very same block of Arborwood South so once I drop my son off I drive further down the block to Arborwood South to drop my two youngest off so they can make it in time for breakfast. Simple , Convenient right? NO! My children (ages 7 & 10 )have been getting drilled by adults (staff ) complaining about them coming to school too early. To my understanding the children aren't doing anything wrong at the time that they are waiting for breakfast to begin. Everyday I feel like staff is purposely being rude to my children when they aren't doing anything beside's sitting at the table waiting for breakfast to start. My son has his chrome book so I'm 100% he's glued to it at that time. So is my daughter. It even became a problem of them sitting together at a table. Every morning my children are addressed with something ridiculous , just based off of their presents. Not only that I had a man from the school contact me stating that he was apart of a "positive communication " program or something..which is also odd because there were nothing positive about this man , his attitude nor his communication as well as his tone. Very UNPROFESSIONAL if you ask me. Trying to have a conversation with this man was extremely unsettling, he continued to cut me off from the very start of our conversation...back to the issue at hand. Although the school doors are opened, and the school is warm considering this time of year..staff does not want to allow my children to enter the school. They would like me to wait outside with my children for a half hour before allowing them entry. As a sickly Mother who can not work any hard labor jobs or any job that requires me to stand for long or lift anything larger than 10 pounds according to doctors oders it's hard for me when I'm working with a minimum income I have lupus & Sickle cell which means this cold weather isn't good for me. Right now I'm in school myself for medical billing and coding which will allow me to at least have a better income but right now I simply can not afford to waste the gas sitting outside the school for them to allow my babies entry when the doors of the school are already open and the school is warm..I can see right now my children will not be attending this school for long..it amazes me how they can have this huge issue with my children just sitting in the lunch room waiting for breakfast, yet when my babies try to speak up about an issue in the classroom their ignored..I think it's safe to say Im done with this school!
