Bavarian Haus Lakefront Inn

Rooms are a bit dated. The kayaks have been free in the past, now you pay $10.00 for the 1 hour use. They do give $10.00 free play per person at the Kewadin casino each day that's a few miles away. I like to stay here, because ALL of the rooms overlook the lake. It was great to sit outside in the morning on the balcony and watch the sunrise. It is a bit farther down from the city shops.

Wonderful view. Yes it's dated but it's clean and the staff is friendly. There are chairs along the beach to sit and enjoy the lake. I would definitely stay again

Beautiful location with a clear view of macanaw island. BEAUTIFUL sun rises and sun sets. The staff here are AWESOME, and as long as you follow simple rules they seem to be cool and very accommodating. We will be making this a yearly thing with our friends. We ALL had a blast and highly recommend this place. 🌟 ⭐ 🌟 ⭐ 🌟!!

Stayed at the end of June, love the updates since last season (new carpet in rooms, updated flooring in bathroom/sink area). My kids loved the pool as usual, they talk about the hotel throughout the year and can't wait to come back! We've stayed 4 or 5 times, it's our go to hotel when in St. Ignace. Love the ground floor rooms with easy access to the grass/play area. The only suggestion I have is maybe a later breakfast cut-off time, maybe 8-10am hours instead of 7-9am.

Highly recommend them. Rooms were large and clean, Staff was friendly and very helpful. Great location, delicious breakfast in the morning. Nice pool and hot tub. Awesome beach area with a fireplace and chairs to relax by the waves at night

Take a journey with me to the magical land of St. Ignace, Michigan, where once a year, classic and contemporary car enthusiasts unite in a grand parade of polished chrome and roaring engines. But this review isn't about the motor-mania that seizes the town; no, it's about the authentic Bavarian sanctuary that welcomed our group of eight roadsters with open arms and endless laughs - The Bavarian Haus Lake Front Inn.

As we rolled into the property, a view of Lake Huron spread out before us like a dreamy landscape painting, complete with swans for that extra Bob Ross flair. However, the real stars of the show were waiting for us indoors. As we stepped into the front office, we were greeted by a couple of jocular gals whose personalities were as warm as their Michigan accents. If the hotel gave out gold stars for staff, these two would be carrying around enough weight to resemble medieval knights!

They checked us in with the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like you've accidentally stumbled into a family reunion. Their humor was as sharp as a well-aged cheddar and twice as satisfying. If you were working that Friday & Saturday, ladies, let me tell you, you didn't just rock - you rocked, rolled, and absolutely owned it! If you cannot recall me, just think "Long Island" lady :)

The accommodations at the Bavarian Haus Lake Front Inn were like a stein of frothy German beer - wonderfully satisfying and leaving you wanting more. Each room was as meticulously prepared as a Bavarian pretzel, every tiny detail carefully thought out and crafted with love. So much so, that we decided to book our rooms for next year before we'd even unpacked our luggage!

The staff, whether they were from the front office or housekeeping, were engaging and fun. They treated us not as just guests, but as long-lost friends they were thrilled to see again. Their conversations were as refreshing as a dive into Lake Huron, their jokes had us laughing harder than a comedy night at the local tavern, and their service was more seamless than a German autobahn.

Overall, our stay at The Bavarian Haus Lake Front Inn was more satisfying than finding a pristine '69 Mustang at a garage sale. The staff, the rooms, the view, and the atmosphere created an experience more unforgettable than a weekend at Oktoberfest. If you're heading to St. Ignace for the car show, or any other occasion, make sure you secure a spot at this gem of an inn. Because if you don't, we just might take your room!

After a disappointing experience at another hotel, we booked a room here to finish off our St. Ignace stay for the Bronco the Mac event.

Staff was very friendly and got us into a room during a very busy weekend. Bed was comfortable enough for a good sleep.

Nice room. Has coffee maker and refrigerator. Very nice people in the office. Has a continental breakfast. Also has kayaks you can use. Has a nice view of the lake and a balcony. Really enjoyed our visit here. There's a pool, two hot tubs and a sauna

Clean rooms, amazing staff! My kids loved walking right out to the lake and hunting for rocks and taking the kayaks out! But their favorite part was the pool and hot tub that we ended every day with during our stay. My daughter lost a ring on our last day and they called me 2 hours later telling me that someone (my guess is the grounds gentlemen that was super friendly and nice) found it and they’re sending it to us! We will be back many more times!

We stayed 2021, in Sept. It was an awesome place. Clean, good breakfast, friendly ppl. Apparently, ppl complained about bugs in Sept of 2022, at night....lol obviously not knowing about Michigan, on a lake, at night....need I go on? Laughable, but a great place to stay!! 5 stars!

We were there on our motorcycle and they were great. We stayed 4 nights. Yes, the rooms and interior are dated, but the view, hospitality and accessibility was awesome. I'm an early riser and my husband is not, so I loved being able to go sit on our deck in the morning and enjoy the view of the sun rising. It rained in the middle of the night two times and when we went to leave for the day of riding we had a hand towel draped over our grip on the bike. Actually, that was every morning. The dew from overnight made for a wet bottom and they placed a fresh towel for us to wipe it down. If you don't ride, then you may not get that, but if you do...well, WOW. Very motorcycle friendly place. We travel with a trailer, which is great when going from place to place, but when you want to enjoy the area it is not so handy. They let us chain it to a wooden enclosed section of the hotel for our entire stay. I would say this is a very motorcycle friendly hotel. A hot breakfast and numerous amenities are added pluses. Lots of things available to keep a family busy. The price is an added bonus. Great rates compared to the other places in the area. Rooms are large and roomy. Heavy curtains to block the sun as is rises and cleanliness was great.

Amazing.location with a great view from any patio from any room. Service was fast and friendly at check in. Shuttle bus to the fairy boats when going over to the island. Room was large for a 2 queen size beds room. Ground rooms are easy access to the water/beach area. Definitely a good place to stay with lots of amenities. Would definitely recommend.

This hotel was amazing, we got two huge connected rooms, each with balconies. There is an amazing free breakfast with pancakes, eggs, sausage, and other food and drinks. There is also a game room, laundry room, gym, and an indoor pool. The beach is awesome, and you can rent kayaks. It is amazing!

Lovely, cleaner than much pricier places I've been to. Every room is a lake view of Lake Huron. The beach area provides bean bag toss, firepit, beautiful seating with lounges and Adirondack chairs. Staff provided towels every morning for motorcycles in the parking lot. We would absolutely staying again.

Place is a little old but there are in the middle of updating and let us know what was going on. The feel is soo kitschy and cutesy. You get all the feel of a nice resort withlut the price rag or modern interior. The location is a total banger right in the lakefront. Couldn't ask for a better view

Been going here for 4 years now on a friend's/family vacation. Our rooms have always been clean staff has been very nice and the owner is amazing. Also we love her dogs that come and hang out and run the seagulls off. You get a wonderful view of Mackinaw island from your balcony and the beach is always clean. Can't wait to go again next year.

Great experience here! The room rate was reasonable, the room was clean and comfortable. Loved the foam pillows. The walkout door from the first floor was so great! The amenities and all the beach and grass games provided were cool. Loved the kayaking that is included. The water is so clear! Internet was fast and easy to access. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was a big highlight as it was extremely complete and delicious. Make sure you check the sunrise time as it is so worth it to see.

This is a gem of a Hotel. It's right on the water and the view cannot be beat. There are so many activities you can do and it's all free. They have 2 hot tubs and a sauna as well as a pool. The rooms are part Retro ascetic as well as modern amenities. The people who review bomb saying it had a bad smell have obviously have never statyed near a great lake before. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
