Holiday Inn Express St. Ignace-Lake Front, an IHG Hotel

I booked this hotel room online several months before my trip. Check in was a breeze even though there was a car event in town (car event was my reason for travel, hotel was full) Staff at the counter was incredibly helpful about recommendations for food in the area as well as a few cant-miss things to do. My room was spotless and modern. Bathroom was clean and towels were fresh. Breakfast was phenomenal, there was a line to eat and it was obvious why. There was a huge selection, food was hot and delicious. Tables in dining area were clean and ideal size. I will be staying again on return trips!

The only issue with our room was the sliding screen door was broken so it wouldn't stay or slide nice on the track. The glass door part worked fine. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Unfortunately the weather was a bit chilly when we went but the beach was pretty, bonfires nightly, and there was a nice pool as well. Breakfast variety was wide which was great, and there's always coffee and hot cocoa in the main entrance. Room service was very respectful and nice. Staff in general was super helpful and friendly. And places with delivery nearby will deliver right to your room door which is also convenient.

The only other complaint I could say (which I'm not sure if it's a common thing, GWL it wasn't a thing) is that the only usable stairs is the emergency fire exit which you aren't able to use. And since there's usually people coming up and down it can take a bit to go through the elevator. But at least it's completely accessible!

Let me start by saying there is no better hotel on the planet.
I don’t know where to begin praising this place. The breakfast was like a brunch at a restaurant…from low cal veggie omelettes to meat omelettes, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, oatmeal with ALL the toppings, etc….. We let our two dogs out of our sliding glass doors to the grass and beautiful courtyard, which is overlooking the beach and shore of Lake Huron. We could even choose between soft, medium and firm pillows on our beds! Who does that? The staff was amazing and so were the other guests. Everyone talked to each other like neighbors. The room is CLEAN and perfect.

This hotel is in a great location with it's own private beach. The water is calm and crystal clear. The beach and water is rocky, you'll need to wear shoes. Our room was on the 1st floor with a beautiful view of Lake Huron! The staff is so polite and accommodating. They do a great job keeping the hotel clean. The breakfast is good. They have workers constantly cleaning the area and making sure there is enough food. The only downside is at times there aren't enough tables and chairs for guests to eat. All in all, this hotel was wonderful! I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and the view from our balcony was fantastic. Breakfast had good choices and the eating area was clean. We would definitely stay again.

This hotel was wonderful! The staff was incredibly friendly and the rooms were very comfortable. The lake balcony was a wonderful touch too! Breakfast was comparable to most hotels(Cinnamon rolls were warm yum). Would say this is the best hotel there. Would highly recommend!

Very central to downtown! Rooms are a little dated in the walls and carpets but staff are so friendly and bonfires every night by Lake Huron make up for it!! Nice large pool. Breakfast is the Holiday Inn staples.

We stayed during the fourth of July for four days. Had a party of 9 with 3 rooms. All the rooms had a Lakeview. Pool is open 24 hours, breakfast is good. Able to watch the fireworks right from the hotel. Everyone we came into contact with was friendly Minus 1 housekeeper. Room was comfortable and kept fresh every day. Close to attractions we wanted to see.

I dont go to st. Ignace that often but when i do i always stay here. Great beach views, pet friendly, great pool, and good breakfast

Everyone at the front desk is very nice! No issues with anything except some noisy neighbors. Shutout to Jackie from housekeeping she's doing a great job and is very thoughtful to ask is there anything we needed! Great job Jackie!

Amazing view and location! Nice added touch with a fire pit that was lit at dark to relax by and enjoy the sounds of the waves. Rooms were clean and we slept soundly on the comfy beds. Front desk staff very helpful with making sure we got our Mackinac island ferry tickets with them at a discount and providing a shuttle for transportation. Breakfast the next morning was the best I have had for being complementary. Everything was so clean! Hats off and a round of applause 👏 to this great staff!

Cons: the elevator was extremely slow and the 4th floor hallway was very hot midday.
Pros: the room was great! Clean and great views. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. The complementary breakfast is an actual breakfast buffet. It's located within walking distance to the pier and the ferry's. However, it is a bit of a hike so you may prefer to drive.

My husband and I had a fantastic stay! The room was very clean, and we loved the layout of our room as well! The pool is open 24 hours and the breakfast was great. Customer Service was exceptional as well! We will definitely stay again next year!

We arrived and our reservation was never saved, Laura at the front desk was extreamly helpful and we ended up with the best room we could have had! Very nice view over the water of the island. Thanks again Laura.

Not sure about all of the rooms, but the room we were provided seemed to have been remodeled relatively recently. Personally, I felt the rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. The room had a desk, a sitting chair, and mini-fridge, but no microwave. Breakfast was surprisingly large and varied and also quite busy everyday we were there. Location was a short drive into town. The view looks over Lake Huron and and Mackinac Island.

A couple weeks ago my boyfriend and I visited Mackinac island for the first time. We stayed here and had an amazing experience! Suzie was wonderful, so friendly and made sure everything was up to par for us. Assisted us with getting tickets for the ferry which was convenient, we had no idea where we were going. She made sure we knew where to go which made everything smooth. Room was very clean and jacuzzi tub was awesome. Honestly was one of the best experiences I’ve had with a hotel with the room and customer service. Thank you Suzie you were amazing and made the experience fantastic. ☺❤

Clean rooms. We had ground floor right on the beautiful lake. Breakfast was actually good for a hotel experience.

Great variety of breakfast.
The rooms are pretty neat and spacious with a patio access to the beach view.
Hotel is at a walking distance to Dock 3. Where you can get a ferry for the Mackinac island.
There's free parking.

This is a nice hotel. The beds r great, we had a great nights sleep. The rooms have balconies facing the lake, keurigs in the room. There is coffee, tea, and water at the front. The room has its own shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in the shower. The Breakfast has lots of varieties to pick from. I would recommend this place to anyone. I like a clean, somewhat inexpensive hotel...this was not overly expensive but it is very nice.

Loved this place. Best Holiday Inn I’ve stayed at to date. Friendly staff, great rooms with a balcony and a beautiful view of the lake.
