It wouldn't be famous if it didn't have great food! Love the burgers... The bigger and juicier the better. Super fun with the car hops bringing the food out. They were very busy and the wait was longer than normal, but not an issue at all. Clearly, they were slammed. Bathroom was clean and well stocked. Great place to stop and have a fun, delicious meal while staying or passing through.

Clyde's is a traditional Drive-In restaurant.

The service was quick, considering they were very busy. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was good tasting.

The restrooms are clean for as busy as they were. There is plenty of parking around the building, including space for cars with trailers.

I definitely recommend this as a stop if you are going through the UP.

Clyde’s drive in was a great experience and atmosphere. Food tasted like any other American drive-in which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Our waitress gave my dog a plate of treats and was very friendly.

I had the big C Bison Burger which was monstrous. There was a ridiculous amount of sauces (mainly it was drowned in relish) on the burger that caused it to completely fall apart and made it a nightmare to eat in my car.

Side of onion rings were top notch and so was the strawberry shake.

French fries weren’t crispy but more flabby

Overall I would come here again but maybe ask for less sauce on the burger and stick to just onion rings.

The service is amazing! The food took a while to come out but rightfully so, there was a van full of people next go us and the waitress had to make multiple trips.

We brought our dog and the waitress brought him his own food dish full of treats!

The food is normal American food. Nothing crazy, nothing special. Nothing was wrong with the food, it’s just basic drive in food.

We ordered:

Big C bison burger 3/4th burger: cooked really well, just a little overwhelming with toppings and was difficult to eat in the car because the bun fell apart (4/5)

Onion Rings: phenomenal, the best! (5/5)

Strawberry shake: delicious, soooo good (5/5)

Chicken tender basket (comes with fries): normal chicken tenders, they were good, fries could’ve been crispier but overall things were fine (4/5)

Would go here again just for the shakes or to try something new!

Amazing, delicious food! I often joke with my family that it’s good we don’t live around here because we’d all gain too much weight. It’s absolutely scrumptious and we occasionally cross the Mackinac bridge just to come here. The people who work here are great!

Great food good prices. Was a long wait but was expected during lunch rush. Everyone was super positive and upbeat. Heads up cash only. Which is unfortunate cause I could only order half of what I wanted due to limited cash on hand.

On our way up north. I was about to pass this up. When we checked out the reviews. So many good comments we turned around and decided to try it out. Ordered the 3/4 lb cheese burger and fries. Deliciousness with every bite. We were road tripping to Green Bay from Mackinaw City. I wish we had a drive in restaurant like this in my hometown. FYI. They only accept cash. No debit or credit cards. Be prepared to wait a while. As this place is packed and with good reason. There is a covered picnic area and indoor seating. So you don’t have to eat in your car.

They serve really delicious burgers! The menu is actually pretty large considering how small the building is.
Price was reasonable, $19.88 for two meals. Next time I’m here the kids meal because it comes in a cool car shaped box!
Make sure you have cash money on you to pay, they don’t accept debit/credit!
Great place to stop & eat! So much better than a fast food joint!! Hubbs got a T-shirt too!

Our waitress was the sweetest and kindest person I have met in a really long time. She was friendly and personable and gave us really great suggestions on what to get. They do not take debit or credit cards so bring cash with you when you go. The food is delicious. We tried the cheese curds just to compare them to the ones we get a Culver's down in Indiana where we're from. They were really tasty and came with a really delicious ranch sauce that must have been made at the place cuz I've never tasted anything like that ranch sauce in a bottle. We also had small malt and that was also delicious and sort of a nostalgic look back at when I was younger. I haven't had a malt in ages.

We stayed at the lake Michigan campground which is about 18 miles away from St Ignace. The campground host recommended that we try this place because the food was really great. He was absolutely correct. I would recommend this place to anyone. You drive in you roll down your windows and some lovely person will come by and take your order and bring it to you in a very short amount of time. Great stuff. Cheers!

First time ever eating here and it was great! Pull up, park, a server comes out to you and takes your order. You can also order ahead, go inside and order and eat at some tables they have outside. They only take cash so be prepared, or use their ATM inside. The burgers are delicious! We got our pups some chicken strips and, of course, we tried them. Pretty typical but still darn good! Wish it didn't take us so long to stop here but we will be going back!

Finally made it to Clyde's! Everyone has been telling us it's a "must-stop" kind of place, and they were right! My wife had a burger, and I had a walleye sandwich, and they were delicious! Plus, chocolate shakes that we're straight out of my childhood! Highly recommended.

NOTES:
- It's CASH ONLY, so make sure you know this before you pull up.
- It's the kind of place where you can go inside and sit (probably 8 to 10 seats at the counter), or stay in your car and they'll come out to you.

I can’t drive past Clyde’s without stopping for a Bison burger. Always cooked to perfection. Just tried the whitefish for the first time and enjoyed that too, but I’ll stick to the burgers in the future.

This is a cash only place, so make sure to place ahead. There is an atm inside, though.

After seeing reviews we drove up for in-car service. It took awhile for a server to take our order as they were very busy but it was worth the wait. I had a grilled cheese, onion rings, and a chocolate shake. It all tasted good and the prices were very reasonable.

This place was awesome. Food was super good. You can eat inside or park in drive up/in and eat in your car. Which is,what we did. Will go back when up there.

On my way up to/across the U.P. I decided to stop at Clyde's Drive-In - first time - mostly for the novelty of the experience. Opted for the tray on my window just like - before my time. I got the bacon cheeseburger & added the basket of fries and coleslaw as I had had a craving for a hamburger for days. The food was great and the experience was everything I wanted it to be - memorable. (There are tables outside on a patio if that is preferred over eating in one's vehicle.)

A CLASSIC. My dad grew up going here w, and now we go with him and our family. :) Food has always been that delicious diner food vibes, and service is super great - everyone is so friendly! Definitely an important stop if you're on your way to Mackinaw Island, or up into the U.P.!

This time at Clyde's we dined in it was great the old stools at the bar and soda type setting you could sit there and watch them cook your food and pour your drinks Clyde's is one of the best places to go for a burger at 3/4 lb Burger that is called The Big C onion rings are to die for and this place is a place that if you walk out hungry it's your own fault most people will buy one Big C and say I can't eat it at all most people also will share one not everyone some people even if they know they're going to Clyde's they won't eat anything before they go they'll drive for miles to get to Clyde's just for a Big C onion rings or fries and a malt. They also have shakes kids meals that come in antique sports cars convertibles that are cardboard it's like a antique drive up restaurant there's a few spots that you can sit outside and a picnic table and a few spots that you can sit inside.

This is a really great stop if you want to experience a bit of that classic diner food and nostalgia. This place stays busy doing tourist season, but most definitely worth the wait. I recommend getting a burger, however you like them, and don't forget a deep fried side to go along! We actually stopped on the way to, and again, on the way back from our vacation to the U.P!! ♡♡
