Hen House Family Restaurant

We arrived 10 minutes before closing time, and the staff was good enough to still serve us. Great food, pleasant staff, and welcoming atmosphere. My dad used to stop here years ago, and I hadn't been there and wanted to stop in.
I recommend this place if you haven't tried it. It's a special little place.

Great tasting breakfast, everything was warm and tasty! This is a classic old style restaurant where service and quality is old school. The service is great and the employees are polite, courteous and attentive. The restaurant is easy to spot from Interstate 74 with its iconic sign and conveniently located just after you get off the ramp.

Fast, friendly service. Great breakfast, I am picky about my toast and this toast was perfect, and perfectly buttered. Eggs, bacon and hash browns were delicious too. They were busy, and our waitress was super quick, and kept coffee filled. Wish I lived closer because it would be my new favorite breakfast spot!

Stopped here on my way through the area. Just like I remembered from when I was a kid and we would stop here for a meal coming back from vacations. It even has the gift shop in the corner still. Excellent food, Madison was the server working when we were there Sept 4 2020. She provided excellent service even though she had to wait the tables, clear the tables, cashier and a lot of other duties. Will definitely stop here again when I'm in the Champaign area.

If you are traveling through smaller towns in IL, you will see this chain of family restaurants. They are very popular with locals and travelers alike. This one had private booths and individual tables, as well as a long center table where people can easily mix and meet new people. It was absolutely slammed with customers when we were there. The staff was very friendly and conversational. And the food was good.

This is not fancy dining,it is a noisy diner with dated decor, but if you know that going in,it's all good. The people who work there are so kind. I get the pecan waffles which are made with malt flour so they are so fluffy but crispy on the outside delicious.
The coffee is good too.
Sometimes you just want a big breakfast. This is the place. (They do have lunch items,I just never order them)

My first time here, I've passed it often when I worked for AutoZone. I was always curious on how it was. I'm so happy I stopped by! I'm currently fighting a cold, and my sense of taste is lacking. It did not stop me from getting the flavor from the coffee or the food! The service is top notch! Sue and Charissa are amazing servers! They're very attentive, friendly and professional! I'll be back if I'm ever in the area again!

Wonderful staff and great food. Sue was a sweetheart and perfect. This place captures the essence of good old fashioned friendly quality food and service. And still very affordable. Definitely will be back....alot.

Comfy place for breakfast. I like the crispy texture of their hash brown.

They daily specials, nice friendly staff, pies great, food was hot and fairly fast to get to the table. It wasn't super busy there were maybe a dozen. People there. Here is an update my husband and I stopped today for lunch we got there about 1:15 we ordered I got the bacon cheese burger and onion rings they were outstanding, he got the Philly steak and cheese with French fries he said very good had a lot of flavor. The owner came out to let everyone know it was 1:35 as they close at 2. Great serves, friendly staff and awesome food definitely going back

When you don't eat fresh eggs all the time you can really taste the difference! The service was fast and friendly and price was fair. A great quick stop. Thanks

I Have been to both Hen Houses now and have not been disappointed. When we walked in you know they are busy, and they are hustling. I dont mind a bit of a wait if everyone is clearly working their butt off. We were sat in a timely manner, drinks and food came out as expected and service was wonderful. There if you needed her, and checked in just the right amount.
The food was what I expected and hit the spot. Great for moms day off breakfast service, we will be back!

My friends and my fiancée and I were in town for a brief weekend getaway and ate here as our only meal out. What a delight. Sweet waitresses, ample coffee, and great prices on stellar diner breakfast offerings. Would go back!

Always nice visiting the Hen House in Mahomet! I grew up coming here as a kid and everything looks about the same. Great small town food & service!

This is one of our favorites. A red barn, the best wait staff ever (including being funny and sassy at times!) and delicious food.

The Hen House is a really good Restaurant to go eat at in Mahomet. The service is really good, the is really good, and the atmosphere is really nice you feel like you are at home the stuff is really nice I would recommend it if you are coming through or visit someone.

Consistently good food & reasonably priced. The waitresses work their butts off to keep everyone happy and get them served quickly. If you have more than a party of two, during busy times, you may have to wait a few minutes to get a seat, but it's totally worth it!

This place serves breakfast all day and it tastes delicious. It's priced fair and affordable. Nice atmosphere with cozy booths and plenty of space. The waitress was nice and accommodating. They also have giant cinnamon rolls that are almost a meal itself. Stop by if you ever get the chance.
