Cumberland Grille

I could just spend 500 words on the Texas toast that caressed my cheeseburger but that's not what needs to be said. BLUF, this lil hole in the wall cafe was pure ecstasy. I absolutely love locally owned down home cooking and this place didn't disappoint. I had a cheeseburger and fries, the wife had some kind of chef salad and my daughter had a parmesan noodle plate. All 3 dishes were excellent. I'd say the burger was a top 5 all time, make sure you order it on the Texas toast, it really sets it off. The deserts, oh my. They are all handmade, no frozen Costco stuff here. The pecan pie was simply amazing, not too sweet, not excessively over loaded with pecan pieces, it literally melts in your mouth. My daughter had the caramel pie, it must have been amazing considering I couldn't talk here into a single bite. My wife had the ches pie and she said it was the best she had ever eaten. So to finish this up, stop here, enjoy a low-key, hike cooked meal, you won't regret it.

I've enjoyed many meals here. Just the right atmosphere I like with honest locals. Never had a bad meal.
My go to meal is the blackened catfish sandwich and the chicken Philly. The cheeseburgers are giant and look really good. The club sandwich is huge. Try the soup of the day. The gumbo is good and so is the cheddar potato soup. The pies are also really good and there's usually several to choose from. I love where I'm from.

Loved the Fettuccine Alfredo w/blackened chicken, best I've ever had. The medium rare Ribeye steak was perfect. The waitress was so attentive.

Perhaps you are super old and remember Shakey's Pizza on Riverside Drive in Clarksville Tennessee. Or maybe you frequented O'Charley's in the 1980s or 1990s. If not, I am sure you remember the Cumberland Grille at 1503 Madison Street Clarksville Tennessee.

Besides being great places to eat at the time, the other thing these all had in common was Roy Smith. Roy Smith worked at these fine places and owns/operates the Cumberland Grille. Before you think the Cumberland Grille is closed down, drive out to 4198 Highway 12 North Ashland City, TN in beautiful Henrietta, and visit the Cumberland Grille in all its magnificent glory.

The Cumberland Grille is located in a nondescript building next to a barber, I believe. No matter, the food is as awesome as it ever was. I only ever ordered the Hamburger Steak when visiting the Grille. It was just as good or better as I remember. I wish the French Fries served were a crinkle cut or steak fry variety, but I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. There seems to be a decent variety to the menu. There was definitely a wide variety of pies to order a slice of.

The service was excellent as always at the Cumberland Grille. When located in Clarksville Tennessee, the staff seemed to be primarily high school and college age people. The people working at the current location in Henrietta Tennessee will give you a Diner like employee vibe. In addition to the service, you won't meet a better person than Roy Smith. Although, every time I see him, I have an unnatural craving for Shakey's pizza.

Great food and great service. No, it is not the Cheesecake Factory, but it is not meant to be, and the check will reflect it. Head down to Henrietta for a change of pace and great eating. Check the website and Facebook for updates on the operating hours. Currently closed Sundays and Mondays with hours of 1100 am to 700 pm.

Wow, what a gem! First experience here today, and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful not only to myself, but to the young lady that was being trained. An absolute pleasure to see such hospitality. Highly recommend for folks that appreciate great food served with a side of respect. Very fresh food, top notch flavor.

This was such a nice cafe/Grille! Super friendly, attentive service. Hometown menu with specials, and a dessert menu. Our catfish, & huge cheeseburger, & onion peals were very good! Salads are also their specialty. Made fresh to order. Very clean and friendly feeling. Prices reasonable! Call in orders for pickup available.

One of the best double burgers that I’ve had in a long time. Great food, customer service, staff and owner! I’m full. Yum!

For a country cafe, this place had it going. The food was delicious and the waitress was top notch. The fried cat fish was awesome. And very big portions. I highly recommend this place.

Me an my husband stop here for lunch, an the food was amazing!! Great southern home cooking amazing fried pickles everything was cooked freshes as well. Our server was Mrs Ronda she was amazing as well. If your here in town best place to eat out no dought it.

I ordered a BLT with the onion wedges! It had tons of bacon and the fried onions were so good!

My first time eating here the waitress was very nice and friendly.. Place was clean and the sweet tea was awesome i had the Cumberland pasta with chicken it was better than i have had at olive garden... Way to go staff and team i will be back...sheree rondo
