Delicious! Such a wide selection of the most scrumptious goods. The cheese danish and chocolate croissant were my favorite! My son loved the ham and cheese croissant. My husband’s favorites were the pumpkin danish and cinnamon schnecke. We were only in town for about a day and am so happy we stopped in! This is a place you must visit and grab a treat… or a few… !

I have been a regular customer since the Guglhupf Bake Shop opened in Chapel Hill in 2017 (the main, full restaurant is up 15-501 in Durham and is also excellent). It is my favorite place for a latte, pastry or breads.
Yes, there's often a line, but that's because so many people also love it. Everything here is delicious, and I will gladly wait a few extra minutes to get their baked goods and drinks. Guglhupf has the best chai lattes I've ever had.
The staff is all very friendly and welcoming, even when it's super busy. I often see staff chatting with regulars too. Once, when the wrong drink was made (I may not have said my order clearly enough, so it wasn't necessarily their fault), the barista apologized and made the right drink without questioning it. Everyone is just so kind, I always leave smiling.
I've tried most everything: rolls, croissants, scones, brezels, danishes, schneckes (which means snail auf Deutsch because of the spiral shape). I also got a chocolate birthday cake here. It was decadent. Everything is amazing. My favorite savory item is the cheese brezel. I recommend warming it up. And my favorite sweet item is the mandelhörnchen, which has marzipan. Yum!
There are a few small tables inside and outside, and it's very pleasant to sit outside on a nice day. The parking lot is always crowded, through no fault of the business. There are a lot of other businesses for a small lot, so I always park on the other side, away from the Trader Joe's and Ulta, and never have a problem.

Lots of outdoor seating, fun menu with something for everyone. Easy to order, quick service and everything tasted great. We did have a professional baker in our group and he said the danish dough should have been a bit more buttery.. to me it was fine but I am not a baker.

Big fan of Guglhupf + this location-
The team members are extremely friendly + helpful. I always get a danish; I’ll switch it up once in a blue moon, but crave the danishes! The rotating seasonal ones are fun, but cherry + cheese all the way!!
They have outdoor seating + indoor too. Highly encourage on getting there is early morning, as things sell out pretty fast.

I had the chocolate croissant, ham and cheese croissant, and the almond swirl that's like a croissant. The almond one was my favorite although the others were both delicious as well. I had the best chai latte I've ever had there! Everytime I'm in this area, I'm getting one again! The seating was not super comfortable or plentiful so it's not the best spot to hang out too long but it was nice for what I needed which was a place to enjoy my treats for 30 mins.

This bakery has delicious cream puffs!! I had two of them in row. This place has no dine in currently but there are seats outside. They also have a lot of snack options, breads, croissants etc. coffee is good too.

Very nice little bakery. Great selection of pastries, cakes, cookies, tarts, and bread. Their products are inspired by Germany (e.g. Mandelhoernchen) and France (e.g. religieuse). Everything looked very delicious; I tried a Linzer cookie and it was really yummy. Good espresso. The German-style loaves of bread looked very authentic to me (I am from Germany). I will definitely go back!

The desserts are sooooooo good! Also some tables outside which is definitely a plus on a nice day. Just note that the parking situation is a bit crazy, just because of all the stores next door.

Was I even alive before I had their chocolate tartlet? Honestly I go here every few weeks for their ham and cheese croissants but today I got a dessert item! This is so good I don’t even know what to say other than you need to get yourself one of these! One for you and one for a friend! I am so excited to try the fruit version!

It is a wonderful European-style bakery! They have delicious breads, elegant fruit tarts, and tasty cookies and other types of pastry. They even have decent coffee and a small seating area inside as well as an outdoor seating area where you can drink your coffee and have a pastry right there. We drive about 25 minutes to get there and it is worth it

Looking for some of the best baked goods Durham has to offer? Get your buns over to Guglhupf. Huge variety of fresh goodies. Can't go wrong with any of it, but the lemon treats are my favorite.

Fresh pastries and desserts that will make you consider breaking your diet. The almond schneke (cinnamon roll-style almond croissant flavor) is one of the favorites. Definitely enough selection of great treats to satisfy any preferences.

The lumberjack latte is one of the best lattes I have ever tasted! Definitely give it a go! I also had the pumpkin Danish, which was incredible as well. A wonderful place for pastry and coffee

I have been here multiple times now and each time I like to try something different. All of the baked goods have been delicious. I’ve had the mini guglhupf, the oatmeal cookie sandwich (both of which are vegan if that’s your thing), the bretzel with cheese, the panna cotta - nothing disappoints! My favorites so far are actually the first two I said. The workers have all been kind, helpful and patient answering questions. Happy to have found this gem.

Try the cheesy brezels. They are delicious! The almond schnecke was great as well. It tastes like and has the texture of brioche.

Absolutely top notch customer service and the baked goods were the best I've had since my grandfather retired from his bakery. We tried a wide variety of products, including breads, danish, pretzels, tarts, cookies, and the lemon s'more and everything was incredible. We'll be back the next time we're in the area!

What is the best way to end a day of doctor’s appointments and tests if you are in the Chapel Hill area? Of course, Guglhupf Bake Shop! Their goodies are the right way to lift up your spirit and take a pause from the rush of life. Their croissants are fantastic, and I would make the drive here just for their cream puffs😋. Service is impeccable. Friendly people serving great food. Give it try. You won’t regret it!
