The Carolina North Forest is such a nice place to run/bike/hike/walk in one place. You can choose to walk/bike on the pave road, Or you can choose to hike on the trail. Or do everything on any way that you prefer. They are a lot of different trails. Nice huge forest in the middle of the town. You can access in many entrances, plenty of parking or access from public transportation.

The Carolina North Forest is such an awesome place to run/bike/hike/walk your dog. There are MILES of trails that offer varied terrain with different lengths that you can go. I would suggest going in with a plan because it’s easy to get a little bit lost out there.

The most gorgeous trails I have ever run on. They’re incredibly well maintained and marked clearly. So happy I found this hidden gem in the middle of my town!

My husband and I like taking our little kids here for nature walks in the lovely forest. The only issue for us is that Google maps takes you where there is no larger parking area so I drove and found the Pumpkin Loop Parking area. I suggest this for families with younger children, it's better than side of the road parking. The trails are pretty flat for our 3 year old. You just have to watch for mountain bikers but it's been no big deal 🙂

Nice trails for hiking or biking. I parked at the elementary school and did about 6 miles of trekking. Not very well-marked at the beginning, but enjoyed it nonetheless

This little slice of perfection is a great place to run, bike, hike or just enjoy the outdoors. Some of the trails are challenging, but very runnable and bikeable. If you're training for a trail race, this is a decent place to get some rocks, roots, and hills without it being overly technical. No stream crossings, but you might see a flutist or other musician on the weekends, or possibly even spot a unicorn!

Great for reading a stroll or walking your dog! At the 2/3 of one of the trails, there are trash, recycling and dog waste cans. No restrooms though.

Fun hiking and biking trails. Rolly polly meandering through the forest. Stop by the Farmhouse and snap a selfie.

Now my top favorite place to go for a nature walk in the triangle. It is secluded and just beautiful.

You would be hard pressed to find such an extensive trail system in the middle of any town in America. The single track trails are a spider web system but one has to remember that these trails were illegally built by mountain bikers 30 to 20 years ago. I've been riding these trails since 1990 and glad they still exist.

Great for trail running. Lots of trails and well maintained. A good place to access Wormhole trail is across the street from Seawell school. There is a, not so obvious, opening in the trees on the railroad track side. Look at some of the running apps for circuits and distance. A good 4.5 miles under canopy without overlapping.

Great place for walks and had plenty of trees to climb!

Being that this forest is within walking distance from my house, it’s one of the reasons I put up with the annoying liberals and expensive *everything* in chapel hill.

Gorgeous views, plenty of woods to explore and the exciting bike trails make this spot dope.

Just enchanting. Twisty trails, large streams, biking routes, railway lines and an airport! Really wonderful place to get lost and where you can make your own adventures. Poop bag stations at the main trail heads and largely well marked trails.

It was a little muddy but nothing you couldn't go through with appropriate shoes. Great weather, not too crowded and nice for pictures in the wild. Also, the restrooms there were clean and had tp, only needed the sanitizer to be refilled -all of them.

The trails out here were really fun! There was a nice mixture of riding styles, scenery and plenty of miles that you can link together. Be very mindful of the neighborhood and fellow hikers and trail runners.
