If someone would have told me that one day I would be eating half a rack of pork ribs on the hood of my car in the middle of December and loving every minute …. I would have not believed them. But there I was …licking the BBQ sauce off the hood.
Come hungry because the food is great and the portion sizes are huge. Staff is friendly. Service is quick. This is not your usual bbq. To order here you need to plan for it! Here are some tips from a local on how to order
1. Check their Facebook page often because they are so good and popular that they sell out of food quickly. They update Facebook throughout the day on what sold out. You know the food is good if they keep selling out.
2. Plan ahead! Call them a day ahead or the same day early morning and leave a message (name, order, call back number) or call them and speak with someone on the phone to order ahead. If you left a message someone will call you back to confirm your order was accepted. Yes this place is worth every hassle. It’s that good!
3. Do not plan on eating at the restaurant. They do have tables and chairs but if they are about to sell out they will close early and you won’t be able to sit down. Lots of parks and bench’s nearby. It’s a beautiful area.
4. Bring cash or personal check. No credit cards. Lots of places in small towns only take cash so this is no big deal.
5. Don’t forget to try the sauces! Grab some sauces from the sauce table.

This is by far the best BBQ in the Valley. Period. It's my go-to spot when I have family in and want to give them a taste of Shenandoah. Everything is just plain good. You can really tell they love what they do and I've never had an issue or been disappointed while eating here. I cannot recommend this location enough. The BBQ, beans and sauce selection are on point, but call ahead if you're interested in brisket. It goes fast.

This bbq shop was a pleasant surprise! We planned to have lunch at The Mill, but they closed early. Just steps from Stoney Creek we found ourselves at Beans BBQ instead. These are the best ribs I've had in over 5 years! Sorry Memphis, but Beans BBQ has you beat, hands down! I loved all the quirky movie posters and 3-Stooges posters as well. Great place to eat in our take out!

The GREATEST BAR-B-Q I’ve EVER HAD! I’ve traveled the world and all the states for my career and I honestly cannot tell you this restaurant and it’s good are phenomenal but the BIGGEST SMILE YOU’LL HAVE is from the prices! The Family meal is only $24.00 for a HUGE AMOUNT of incredible eats! Bravo Beans!

Wonderful BBQ!
It was ribs or chicken when we stopped.
A snack size ribs is alot!Prices are great, and I loved the coleslaw, sweet!
Picnic tables in what appears to be an old firehouse!
Cash only or local check.
Very friendly but it is in the Shenandoah Valley!

Easy to drive past, but you'd wish you would have stopped. Excellent pulled pork sandwiches ($11 with beans & drink). I thought we got some extra because we were the last customers of the day, but the reviews indicate they're always that big. The beans were on the sweet side, and I prefer smokey, but they were still excellent, and I easily can add smokey bbq sauce. Overall, this was great food at an amazing price, and we'll stop again if we're in the area. Super-friendly crew working, too. Don't count on the closing time being accurate, though, as they appear to close when they're running out of food, which makes sense. Go early and often.

Best BBQ ever. We make this a must go to every year when we vacation in the Valley. The folks are nice too. Old firehouse location adds to the BBQ environment. Great job.

I can’t rate the atmosphere because I have never been there. I am giving this barbecue facility a 4.8 because that’s what it’s rated. I have decided to round up the 4.8 rating to a 5 StAR just because it seems fair for barbecue fare that’s already been given lots of reviews. I hope this helps !😊

Ribs are a must! The pulled pork is huge and tasty. Just wish we could have had some Brisket but that's a Thursday special. Get there early before you miss out. Service is super quick and very friendly.

Holy smokes! This joint is no frills, but you're not headed there for the decor. You're coming for the great pulled pork, and the to-die-for baked beans. What a spot.

Gifted chef! Hands down the best bbq.
Don't get mad at them if they're out of ribs. Get your butt there earlier next time. Or call ahead. A day or two if necessary.
We were lucky enough to stop by on a Thursday. We tried the brisket and pork. Omg delicious!!! And the beans. Holy cow.

Simple. Straightforward. Excellent meats and sauces. Generous portions. Fair priced. Excellent.

Edit: came back 2 years later in Oct 2022. Still good!

Love this place. John Tanner highly recommened it. So I drove down there from Bluemont, VA. Made my day. This is real, honest, authentic BBQ. Smoked on wood. Made with care and time and a lot of effort. It's not done fast in an oven inside. It's done outside, open to the elements like God intended good pork to be cooked.

Their coarse chopped pork has my favorite texture. Not fine-ground, machine stirred stuff. And definitely not RUINED by being mixed with sickly sweet sauce like almost all pork BBQ north of NC is. Nope. It is pure pork. If you want sauce, then by all means choose one of Bean's many sauces. I actually put some of my NC vinegar sauce on it. But just a little. If you want it plain, eat it that way. I have thrown away so many pork sandwiches made in Virginia and north from here, which were smothered by somebody's idea of how to improve pork.

Beans lets the meat and how well it has been smoked and cooked, speak for itself. Thank you--Bean!

And the SIZE of Bean's BBQ sandwich. Easily enough BBQ in it for tomorrow's lunch as well as today's. Hell, I even pulled some out added more to Bean's beans! Which they don't need any more of, because they are already loaded with porky goodness.

To my BBQ sandwich order, I also added a small side of slaw, and small side of beans. Holy camoley: their sides are each a meal in themselves. I thought their must have been a mistake in the order, and rechecked the description on the menu. Nope. I got zackly what I ordered.

I tell you what, I think I am gonna call Elon and see if he will drill one of his Boring Company tunnels from Bluemont to Edinburg (under the Shenandoah River to bypass I-81), with a return tunnel back, but with a dogleg to my cardiologists'. I can see how Bean's is gonna start to become a fatal addiction.

Damn you, Bean's. Damn you!
(On second thought, if you liked everything I wrote above, just ignore it. I don't want yall getting there ahead of me.)

PS: Did I mention that Bean's is right next to the fly shop owned by Harry Murray, nothing less than Virginia's main Academy Award winning fly fisherman? I didn't? How could I have missed telling you that. So. Now. Two reasons to go to Edinburg that you didn't have when you got up this morning.

On our drive home to PA from TN when we wanted to stop to stretch our legs and eat dinner. This spot came up on Google Maps and we decided to give it a try. It was later in the day and not much was left but what we did order(Pulled Pork Sandwiches) were phenomenal. The owners saw that my son was severely autistic and we so kind to give his a shirt that the owner designed himself at no charge. We plan to visit again due to the great food and hospitality!

Great little BBQ place with a variety of meats, sauces, and local Route 11 potato chips. Limited seating. Cash or local check only.

As a military child I have been all over the country including many places in the south. Yet this as been the best barbecue I have ever had so far. The pulled pork was juicy and it melts in your mouth. The beans were fantastic and the staff were so friendly.
