This is the CUTEST little cafe we found on our trip from Virginia to New Jersey! I found this spot on a whim on Yelp hoping to try something new and I wasn't disappointed!

Upon entering my friend and I were greeted by the nicest lady, her helper, and her husband (the cook). The cafe offers different styles of coffee drinks as well as pastries, sandwiches, soups, and chips. All of the bakery items, soups, and sandwiches are house made with love and you can taste it!

I tried the "Roast Beef, lettuce and tomato" on a croissant roll. The steak was warm and tender, the cheese was melted and yummy, and it came with house pickles on the side.

I also ordered the lavender lemonade and the African Peanut soup. The soup was amazing with a sweet peanut flavor combined with different types of African spices. The lemonade was delicious, refreshing, and made with ingredients straight from the garden behind the cafe!

My friend ordered the "Mushroom Artichoke Crepe" which came topped with feta crumbles, a sour cream type sauce, and sliced green apples on the side. The crepes were cooked perfectly and the filling was delightful!

I am not sure if we will be back in this area in the near future, but if you find yourself looking for something new on the weekend visit Penelope's!

I must admit even though I have known Penny and her artwork for quite a while and driven by fairly routinely I only had the opportunity to stop in yesterday. We had been in Sicily at the same time but missed connections so I was anxious to find out what she had learned and to try the new recipes she posted on Facebook. Not only was it co owner John’s birthday celebration from the month prior, but the food was really delicious so the whole visit was fun.

A mutual friend is a frequent visitor who had mentioned this several times so we went to experience the pistachio sorbet type dish she prepared. I also had a perfectly prepared crêpe with grilled vegetables. It was quite lovely. The artwork was a varied selection representing local artisans and artist.

The cafe is located off of Main St in Edinburg. As soon as you walk in, it feels like you walked into a small gallery. There are beautiful and unique paintings, jewlery and such.

I placed my order and went to seat outside. Since it was a chilly day outside, the owner gave me a blanket to keep me warm and turned the heat lamp so I can enjoy my meal without being cold.

I ordered a cappuccino, Raspberry Crepes and apple scone topped with fried apples and cream. I was in for a treat because everything was delicious! I've never tired apple scone with cream before but now that I have, I can't imagine having scones any other way.

I am so glad I discovered Phenelope's cafe because the service was superb and the food was great. I'm definitely going back to try more items from the menu.

Food was great! I had the roast beef sandwich with horseradish cheese and super tasty tomatoes from Penelope's own garden! Penelope herself took the order, made & delivered our lunch all while offering friendly conversation about all of her artwork and the area. What a talented woman with a beautifully cozy and quaint spot!

If you're able to stop in, I highly recommend it. The hours are limited but it's worth the wait. The food and coffee are delicious and the owners are wonderfully nice people. I wish we could have sat outside and enjoyed their patio but it was raining all morning. The local art is also nice to look at, much of which is made by Penelope herself!

Myself, husband and another couple stopped here on Christmas Eve to grab lunch before hitting up some wineries. To be honest, we stopped because it was open, but were so pleasantly surprised at the service, food and ambiance.
We had 2 dogs with us and they were welcomed on the patio, with water dishes.
John, our server, was warm and had many great suggestions for food.
The group ended up ordering:
Chicken Salad Sandwich
Coconut butternut soup
Smoked Turkey Sandwich
Mushroom & Artichoke Crepe
Lemon Crepe

Everything was so delicious!!! You can tell a lot of love and care went into each dish.

If we are ever back in this part of Virginia, we will be stopping by again! Highly recommend!

This is one of the most lovely experiences you could find in the Shenandoah. Find a way to be there on the days they are open, because every bite and sip are worth the effort. The owners spend Wednesday creatively inventing beautiful and delectable menu items, and they are so enjoyable to spend time with for your lunch outing. And the artwork there draws you in, so take a look while they prepare your best meal of the weekend.

Stopped in on a Friday morning while staying at the nearby campground. We only got coffee here, which was as expected (good!). What we weren't expecting was a great conversation with the owner and a few regulars.

Our quick coffee trip turned into a great visit and conversation about the region and activities in the area.

My fiancée, dog, and I stopped here on our way to hike Big Schloss and do a bit of backcountry camping and I was blown away by this hidden gem! The food was amazing, the owner was incredibly friendly and thoughtful, the outdoor patio was beautiful, and it was overall an amazing experience. Highly recommend this place to anyone who likes delicious + affordable food and friendly staff - Which should be everyone, right? 10/10

If you're lucky enough to be visiting Edinburg, you're lucky enough. But to also experience this cafe will take your visit over the top. During my many visits, I've noticed the locals popping in for the signature soups and sandwiches -which are prepared in house and changed daily. Chat with Penelope about the intriguing soup and sandwich selections and their ingredients. All served with her freshly baked breads. The Mushroom and Brie, and Sweet Potato Coconut soups are two of my favorites. There are also over twenty soup choices to take home. It's difficult for me not to follow with either a Grilled Peach and Brie Panini or a Cheddar Apple and Caramel Panini. Add a fruit turnover, or iced brownie, and an espresso or wine. Then linger and chat with another visitor, while surrounded by Penelope's art. You'll soon realize the remarkable passion behind it all.

Cute place! The owner and staff were so friendly. They sat and talked to us about the area, gave us suggestions for places to visit in the area. The food was so good, freshly made. Lots of art in the cafe. From cards to jewelry, to paintings and more. Great breakfast /brunch spot.

Wonderful sweet people, beautiful artwork, and let me say, I don't normally like fruit cooked into things, but her crepes are the most delicious thing I have ever tasted! Thank you so much Penelope's, for the joy you brought me and my family when we visited!!!

A wonderful local find. Everything is homemade and you can tell the owner really cares about her customers with her many vegan, gluten free and milk choices. Definitely one of my favorite places!
