City of Rocks RV

Ross is a great host. Park is clean, close to town and state park. Pull through sites, except if an RV is already in the other side, it would be back in. We'd go back!

We loved staying here! Very cute, private place right outside of City of Rocks! The owners are great & they gave us a paper with a bunch of ideas to explore around the area! Definitely recommend, & we will be back!! Also very pet friendly with out big dog!

We came to the City of Rocks to shoot the Milky Way as the location in the sky was perfect at this time of year. What we didn't know is that June is National Rock Climbing ‍ month. Soooooo there were zero spots available inside the park itself. After driving around for at least an hour and a half, we pulled into the RV Park to inquire about a spot and found they have 3 tent sites available! Score!!
The location is just outside of the National Reserve and very new. They have running water spigots and a fire pit at each tent site and RV site. There are also 3 very nice and clean outhouses, with solar lights when you go at night.
The scenery is just gorgeous!
They also offer wood bundles for sale, in case you didn't bring enough.
The man who runs is with his family is super friendly and on top of everyone who shows up, greeting them within the first 5 minutes of their arrival.
You can check in online ahead of time, or just drive up. There are multiple ways to pay, one being Venmo, which I really appreciated because it is so easy.
They have done a wonderful job setting this up. It is pretty and clean.

We don't usually care for "RV Parks" as our little trailer does just fine without all the services. We arrived at the City of Rocks area on a late-May Saturday evening with no public campsites available, so with some hesitation we pulled into this little RV park, but we soon found out we'd made a great choice for a place to camp! Sites with water and electric are plentiful, and Ross (the owner) is super friendly and gave us a little "fact sheet" he created with tips on the best places to hike, visit, eat, etc. The high desert feel of this place was perfect for an evening campfire under the stars. We slept well and enjoyed our brief stay.

The only place to stay when RV-ing or camping in Almo and visiting the City of Rocks and Castle Rocks.

Right down the road from the entrance to City of Rocks and just across the way from Castle Rock.

We brought our backpack camper and were pleased with all of the amazing amenities, such as, FULL hookups, large pull through spots, well maintained campsites, and a row of high end outhouses - trust me these are pretty sweet.

The hosts are very pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. The campsite is just amazing.

Oh, and it is just down the street from a really nice dump station!

Big Rig friendly and the owner is quick to respond to voicemail and texts. They are making upgrades every year. Firewood available at the owners residence just a short distance away and you can pay with Venmo if needed. We had good T-Mobile service on site and would stay again if in the area.

Great spot for RV hookup sites right near the city. Camp host is very kind and helpful, and so are the printouts they give you when you arrive. In a few years when the trees grown in it will be even better.

This was a great overnight stop for us. The park was basic, clean, and well cared for. The owner was welcoming and provided helpful information on hiking and other things to do in the area. The park is very close to City of Rocks. A great location. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay here. It was not very crowded and our spot was right next to the bathrooms and garbage cans. The bathrooms are vault-style, and they are hands down the nicest vault-style bathrooms I’ve ever seen. They don’t stink and they are well maintained and clean. You can tell that a lot of care was put into it- the decor of the bathrooms is really fun with with faux-wood wallpaper and antlers on the doors and as toilet paper holders. I have never before been so impressed by a campground bathroom!
The owner was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. The site had electric and water hookups. It’s a dog-friendly campground, and there is a small enclosure meant for dogs to do their business, which is a fantastic idea, because my dog won’t go while on a leash.
My only bit of feedback is that the sites could be more level.
We will definitely stay again!

Great little place! The only downside is the dump station is just down the road( not far) except you have to pay to dump. Owner (Ross) stated the city had to many regulations t deal with for a dump station/FHU on site. Totally understand.
I would highly recommend this place if your venturing into the city of rocks!

Nice new place to camp in a trailer or RV. There are also a few tent sites. Very close to city of rocks and extremely well kept bathrooms. Water and power hookups. Picnic tables and fire pits. Owner is very nice and accommodating.

Incredibly nice host and proximity to the park is amazing. Great spot and easy to get our 38 ft rig in and out of the spot. We’ll be back again!

Great place to camp. We had a wonderful time camping hiking and just some nice walks. Staff are so nice and friendly.

Very nice little place. We were the only ones there. The price was very reasonable and clean bathrooms.

This is an amazing place to camp not only is it big camper friendly but it is only about 10 minutes away from the main city of rocks area

We stopped here for day use. The owner was so friendly and the facilities were so clean. We would stay here anytime!
