Great trailhead for a quick walk to the Beaver Marsh. Saw many birds, native wildflowers, turtles, fish, and more.

Enjoyed the walk. On weekends, it’s very busy with bike traffic, so not great for family hiking. However, well-trafficked for solo walking. Mostly flat.

Convenient parking. Good bathrooms. Easy access to the towpath and the Buckeye Trail.. Be sure to look at a hiking map because there are a lot of good trails off the towpath.

This is one of the most popular trail heads that served the Towpath Trail, and for good reason. It is the closest one beaver marsh. There are restrooms available. It can get very crowded, especially on weekends with nice weather and parking can be limited.

Beaver marsh is never a disappointment! If you’re going to beaver marsh, use Ira trailhead for the directions to get there, and once on the trail, go left for beaver marsh!

Ira Trailhead of the Cuyohoga Valley National Park is the gateway to Beaver Marsh , an extensive wetland popular for seeing and photographing wildlife. Also ira tarilhead gives easy and quick access to the towpath trail where you can bike/run/walk. The trailhead has restrooms, picnic tables, and an information kiosk with more exhibits beyond.

Great endurance walk. On the way stop at Beaver Marsh, Szalays Farm, Everett Covered Bridge and Deep Lock Quarry. On the way back take a minute and take a picture of Indago Lake.

A good starting spot for the CVNP portion of the towpath. Parking is limited though, so go south a mile or so and park at Botzum instead if you need to.

Go north a few minutes (on foot) for Beaver Marsh, or a half hour for Bolanz Rd, or an hour for Peninsula. I love to cycle, and this trail has it all - it will take you all the way North to Lake Erie, or South to Massillon and beyond...

This is definitely my favorite section of the towpath ANY time of day. The scenery is beautiful & the wildlife is plentiful.

Great hiking, biking, walking trail. There is a good size parking lot with bathrooms at the trailhead. The walking path doesn't hold much water. I like the little displays that show you the type of animals and what kind of growth is going on.

This is the best spot to park if you’d like the shortest walk to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Beaver Marsh. Great trail for birdwatching as well as turtle watching. I’ve always been able to find a spot to park even on very busy days.

Love this spot to see turtles and other wildlife. Also an easy walk to get to Szlays market.

Wildlife abounds on this accessible trail. We stayed for around an hour and saw beaver, several large turtles, songbirds, and a heron. There are several areas to sit and rest along the way. Also, there is a quest to complete as part of the National Forest's questing program (similar to geocaching). Note the Google Maps directions to the parking lot are incorrect by about 500 feet in directing you where to turn into the parking lot. This section of trail is connected to the towpath trail and accessible by bike or foot from the Boston Store visitors center.

Always an awesome time to spend time walking, biking or having a picnic. It’s a safe, clean and quiet area to unwind after a long day, destress and relax! Nice wildlife viewing and birdwatching areas as well!

Looking for a flat trail? Look no further as this one was built upon an old railroad track!

The trail is scenic and smooth with a farm and food stop (Eclipse) along the way. This is perfect for all ages and all modes of transportation that is unmotorized.

This is one of the most popular areas of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park towpath trails as it has a nice boardwalk to the Beaver Marsh. I go here to birdwatch, but it can get crowded with bikers, runners, hikers, families, casual walkers, photographers, and of course birders. It is a well known birding location and almost a required place to look for all sorts of animals.

I love Ira Trailhead. I've been going there for decades. It has a clean, improved trail, it's generally flat so good for people of all ages, and has a great boardwalk out over the beaver pond and marsh.
