My second visit to the store. I have also mail ordered books from here for over 10 years. Scott Hahn also shops here. At one time, Peter Marx told me I was Scot's greatest competitor for buying books. Highly recommended!

A wonderful bookstore with a first-rate selection. The owner was extremely knowledgeable and took his time showing us around and talking with us. He is obviously very knowledgeable and an academic himself and was happy to share his knowledge with some fellow booklovers. This is a real bookstore, in the truest sense of the word. You'll find Latin and Greek classics, but very few romance novels, and none of the toys and garbage you find at the big box stores. Highly recommended.

John Kuhner is the most sophisticated and approachable shop owner in North America—No: the World. Do yourself a favor and go meet John, and let him pick out the book of your dreams.

A lovely place to caffeinate and seek refuge from the rain! I found a great book on the Ursulines, as well as a vintage 1970s organic gardening booklet! Book store cat gets 5 stars as well!

This is a charming used book store. On entering, we were immediately greeted by the shop cat, Raven. We found a well-organized and wide selection of books, varying in quality from "good" to "like new". The shop has seating, book-themed art, and curiosities scattered throughout. Coffee and tea are available. Everything, including the restroom, is very clean. This store is in a downtown area, and you may need to park a short block or two away, but the on-street parking was free. There are older buildings in the area, some with very interesting architecture. Bonuses include a local bakery, delicatessen, and cafe, all quite near the shop. Check their hours before your visit.

When I’m traveling, I am constantly on the hunt for used bookstores. Bookmarx is an adorable, cozy, organized used book store with an owner who really cares and curates the shop! There is also a friendly black cat who likes a little scratch. I got 4 books and 1 bookmark for $19! All books in good condition.

Folks, shop, and buy with total confidence! My Folder Game Book arrived today in pristine condition, even better than described. These are top notch sellers, and I will continue to shop online with them.

Excellent quality, hard to find books. Great staff. Great special orders. Great restoration services. Near neurotic cataloging, so they can find anything in inventory. Highly recommend for your full book needs.

Lovely little book shop with an entire room in the back dedicated to theology. Peter and Patricia are very kind and welcoming. Nice place to sit down and have a cup of coffee, relax, look for books and journals and I love the store kitty. 🐈

They have a nice selection of both fiction and nonfiction books. They also are very helpful , if you're looking for a particular one. They also have a website you can order their books from - and you can pick it up at their store downtown, which is nice and convenient, or even have the books delivered. They are friendly, and I love seeing the cat in the store. I've gotten a few books from them so far, and I'll definitely be going back!

What a great local bookstore. It's always nice to find the one in town that has a great selection especially in Ohio history. ( I hear they have a big Catholic section. Thre great owner who's willing to check for titles, as well as chat about local history.

Great book store with large variety of books. There is everything from current releases to collectable vintage including high end Easton press. Great service and terrific owners. If you enjoy anything book related. I highly recommend this shop!

Wow! Well organized. Friendly staff. Plus my big win was a room dedicated to theology (1/2 Roman Catholic, 1/2 Protestant/Baptist). I should not have been surprised, given the Franciscan University in town.

Always friendly people in there. And quiet. I seem to see the same people in there all the time. It has a large theology section in the back and plenty of history books. Just 10/10 experience every time I go in.

One little thing, they have a cat that lives there. So people who don't like cats or are allergic might want to steer clear.

Lovely, quaint, very fun-to-visit bookstore! Some of the highlights include a highly curated collection, carefully organized by subject, and in most categories also by author. A full room dedicated to Judeo-Christian theology in this town which is home to Franciscan University. Browsing the main bookstore, I enjoyed listening to my husband's favorite album, Getz/Giberto, and greeting the bookstore cat. In the theology room I enjoyed the peaceful chanting of Franciscan monks. Honestly, I could have spent four or five hours browsing the shelves. BookMarx is a great name for the store, as it is a play on the last name of the owners! I found many bargains and spent about $40. Just a few steps away is an amazing little cafe and coffee house with a gift shop. I was alone in Steubenville for a few hours and had a blast. The people are so warm and inviting and I made friends instantly with several. Can't wait for a trip back to BookMarx, too!

What a wonderful bookstore this is. A great selection of all kinds of books, cozy places to read them, a nice, fat black cat, friendly owners, and wonderful background music, especially in the theology room. Don't miss this place if you're in town.

Cool book store. Veteran owed. I found a couple of books there that are hard to get. Plus they have a huge cat named Raven that walks around greeting customers.

Compared to the chain bookstores, BookMarx is small but intimate. It has a wide variety of new and used books, and even a section with books from local authors. The service is fast and friendly and they have very comfortable sitting areas to read or resesrch. In a small city, it is a huge hit for those who want to hold an actual book in their hands and read while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. Oh! And if they don't have it, they are always happy to order it.
