Luigi's Italian Specialties Deli & Pizzeria

Here is a bit of a largely undiscovered treasure, just a couple of minutes east of overrun New Paltz on route 299. Luigi‘s Italian deli and pizza offers indoor and outdoor seating. Choose from a selection of regular deli sandwiches or traditional Italian specialties. My pastrami sandwich was delicious and the dry sausage I took home can only be compared with ones I experienced years ago in Italy. I will have to return to try their infused olive oils and other Italian goodies.

Well decided to pass by a new place for lunch and got a Italian sub it was very good had red peppers and some good dressing on it and had the right amount of meat I'll be coming back for lunch when I'm in the area agin , also the place had a seating area if you want to eat here as well and the staff was very nice , if your in the area give them a try

My wife Jana and I had the pleasure of visiting Luigi's Italian Specialties on Thursday March 19, 2020. While we have driven past it countless numbers of times, we had never stopped, though we had talked about it often. Luigi's sits back a bit off of Route 299, on the left hand side, not far at all from 9W, only 2 or three minutes, going toward New Paltz. While looks can be very deceiving from the road, this is an absolute must from the true lovers of, Authentic Old World Italian Specialties. For those familiar with the famous " Arthur Ave " in the Bronx......its here. We met Maria, who prepared one of the best Mixed Italian Specialtie Sub I've ever had, let Maria make it her way, with fresh pesto, the roasted peppers, and only thier authentic imported Italian cold cuts, and she'll top it off with fresh Arugula, on real Italian Bread. My wife had an Italian Wedding Soup that was amazing, and we took a few slices of thier homemade pizza to go for later.They also have homemade gourmet olive oils to sample that are amazing, fresh pasta and various homemade sauces, along with pickled Eggplant, and much more. The topper are the homemade mini pastries that Maria makes fresh daily, which we took a dozen. Totally worth the little ride, and now with having to do curbside, it's a great time to go visit and have a look at an Old World Italian Deli......by the way, Italian breakfast sandwiches are served all day long. Truly authentic Italian, homemade food, fresh cooked and delicious. Bakery is great. Aunt Marie's crumb cake is the Best!! 😋

Stopped in yesterday for a slice and the chef told me if I waited a few minutes there would be a fresh grandma pie out of the oven-- I'm so glad I waited because it was delicious! The sauce was flavorful, the crust was the perfect thickness, and the ingredients seemed really fresh. I definitely want to go back again next time I'm Highland around lunch time!

My husband and I decided to try Luigi's tonight for the first time! We ordered the Eggplant Parmesan Specialty Pizza. It was DELICIOUS! We look forward to going back there and ordering other kinds of pizza and food there too! We highly recommend that others try Luigi's food as well!

Had a couple Sicilian slices and everything was just right. The bottom and crust was just the right amount of crispy while the top dough was fluffly and light. Tasted great, only problem is its a bit out of the way but I'll def make the drive out again

Moved to highland and needed a good breakfast spot. Saw the great reviews about this deli and decided to check it out. Very clean and the clerk lady is very nice. Owner is a gentleman and really interacts with customer. Got a bacon egg and cheese on a roll and it is by the best breakfast sandwich I've had and I've been to many around the area. Will def be coming to this spot from now on.

This place is somewhat of a hidden gem. Despite their small size, they most definitely pump out some real homestyle-feel cuisine. I went in for a simple slice. I had them put broccoli and olives on it. The broccoli was cooked with the perfect amount of the amount of crisp to tenderness ratio. And the amount of olives on the slice were proportionate to the broccoli. Little details like this that most pizzerias overlook.

The sandwiches here are fantastic, I can't recommend the Italian Combo enough. It's no exaggeration to say this was the best Italian sandwich I've ever had, the marinated peppers where out of this world! The owner and his family are so charming, I'll be back every time I'm in the neighborhood.

Very pleasant experience, folks were very friendly and inviting. My sandwich was excellent and ate every bite!!! I was apprehensive at first, never having been here before but passed several times on my way to the gym. I needed a quick healthy bite and they delivered!!! I will definitely go back and spread the word!! Great little find! 💕

Luigis is a hidden gem of the area. The food is tasty and affordable, and the service is fantastic. The workers remember your face and never fail to greet you with a smile. I highly recommend it!

Great service and great food!!! Can't recommend them enough. The reviews here raving about the Italian combo are right, it's amazing enough my 100% Italian boyfriend gives it his stamp of approval.

Best italian combo I've EVER had. REAL ingredients makes the difference. The roasted red peppers are delicious and I added pesto, it was so good! I was going to save half for later but had to eat it all. Can't wait to come back. You should try it!

Amazing takeaway sandwiches. Looks closed down from the outside but go inside and the food offering is great. I want to go back and try everything!

I've passed this place a couple times and was never able to stop. This place is great, and the lady is super nice. I bought some chocolate cake balls, cannolis and a sub. All A++. Pesto here is fresh too. More than worth a stop.

Loved it had sausage peppers and onions on a hard roll sausage was delicious first time there since they opened up not quite sure what my delay was but I will be back

We stopped in for a late pizza after visiting family the area. Great pizza and great service. We even returned the next morning for breakfast. We will be stopping in again on our next visit to the area.
