AAA | Bob Sumerel Tire & Service - Hyde Park

My friend recommended this AAA Sumerel and gave me Larry's contact info. He spent quite a bit of time talking to me on the phone about my tire replacement needs. Never tried to upsell, just provide me with the best tires for my needs. Got the job done quickly. Then my son's car needed oil change and wipers. Larry came in and told me the wipers were fine. I had seen the same, but since my son wanted them, we went ahead and replaced them. Again, not trying to upsell, just provide wonderful service quickly. I'll return to Larry for all of my car needs.

Tire went flat last night (May 3, 2024 approx. 9:30PM). Called AAA towing (free of charge with premium membership), towed it to this location. Called this place Saturday morning at approx. 9:44AM, they said they’d check it out, received a call no longer than an hour later, and they fixed it all up free of charge! These guys are great people. They really do care about providing excellent customer service for anything you need done. You can count on them to get you back on the road! Thanks again, guys.

This place doesn't even need another five star review, but I just have to write one. Wow. I took my Sport Bronco in here for an oil change, new AGM battery and a couple other things and it was like being in car service heaven. I'd gone in the week before and talked with Larry Patterson, the service manager, who had listened to my concerns and was respectful and kind. I had been very disappointed by the new management at Woody Sander Ford and their service department. Yesterday I saw Larry again and I met Tabitha, who was extremely friendly and helpful and also very attentive to everything I was worried about. After my car was done I had a great talk with Larry about not turning heat on high when you first start the car on a cold day, to keep the windshield from cracking, (common Sport Bronco complaint) and he knew all about the weird backing up after it rains sound the car can make. He just seemed like he had a wealth of knowledge and he was calm, confident and patient about making customers happy. I'm just sorry I didn't get to meet the guys working on my car! I will always come here and am telling everyone I know to come here. You will never look back. Go where the gold is.

Smart, professional, and courteous. These guys found a nail in my tire and repaired it in less than 10 minutes. Ask for Michael - he's the manager. Carl did the work with a smile and in record time. As a woman who doesn't always feel comfortable solving car problems, this is the place! No charge, either. Who DOES that?Amazing place that has my 100% loyalty. Fast, honest service and kindness goes a long way in my book.

I bought my tires here a couple of years ago and just had my car, 2005 Honda CR-V, serviced here again today. Larry was able to fit me in today and does great work! Very knowledgeable and courteous, and the rates are reasonable too. Tabitha was also very helpful. Thanks so much!

Stopped in to get my tire plugged. They were so friendly and helpful! They were able to get me in and out in no time compared to other places I called that had a 2-3 hour wait time if they could even do it. Very pleased and will return!

I worked with Larry on the brakes for my 2017 Wrangler. This guy was awesome. He called me first thing in the morning and reassured me of the work he was going to be doing. He laid it all out and was very thorough. Not only was his work great, but he took the time to walk out to my Jeep with me after, and discuss the work as well as future recommendations. He and the Hyde Park store will have my future business. Great job!

This location has always taken care of any issue I've had and got me back on the road in a reasonable amount of time, the on-site AAA rep is a convenient addition

I recently took my Mercedes E350 to the dealership to check the brakes. I was told that I needed new front rotors and brake pads for a cost of $1300. I decided to get a second opinion at Bob Sumerel Hyde Park as I’ve had fantastic service there in the past. To my surprise, the car didn’t even need brakes. They still have about 6 months of life in them. Thank you Bob Sumerel for your honesty and amazing service. This WILL be my place of choice for all my cars future repairs.

The first time we took a care to Bob Sumerel Hyde Park the mechanic informed us that we needed to take our car to the dealership and demand a free repair because the problem was a known design flaw. That kind of honesty won me over as a customer. They have continued over the years to provide us with great service and honesty. At one point I needed a tire plugged. The associate pointed out that a AAA membership would only cost about $10 more than getting the tire plugged and the service would then be free. This is a great place!

BEST tire service around! Most fair pricing ie for patching tires purchased there, even when unsure on warranty. Larry ( Mgr) is the Best, most courteous, considerate and professional of all the personnel at similar tire shops around. And believe me, I have decades of experience with them all…!

I took my car here for the first time today for new tires + general maintenance. They were very professional and honest. It turns out my car didn’t even need all new tires, and instead of not telling me and charging me for new tires, they called me to let me know and let me decide if I wanted to proceed with getting new tires or not. I know where I’ll be bringing my car in the future for general maintenance…and new tires once I need them.

Went outside to go to work, noticed that tire was very low, tried adding air, to no avail.
Pulled up to the location, they went to work immediately on a plug & patch repair. Tech was finished in about 20 minutes and when I went in to pay, the service writer said no charge!
Asked are you sure while holding my wallet, he again said no charge, be on your way, have a good day! Thier kindness did make my day. Thanks again to all there.

Great, timely service with friendly professionals! Brought my VW to them with a flat tire and they were able to repair and get my car back to me the same day. Specifically, I really appreciated Mike for all of his help and communication. Would highly recommend!

Larry is one of the best in the Business, used to always go to the pleasant ridge location but after a few less than stellar experiences there I wanted to switch it up. Thanks for all your help!

The team here has always been very up front and clear with me about things. I've purchased one set of tires from them, had them install another set, and done two alignments. Great, friendly team, and they're always able to turn things around quickly. Updating this to share that they came through again recently on two quick tire fixes. Always top notch service from these folks.

Honest and helpful. I thought I needed new tires but Larry, the manager, talked me through what he looks for and recommended that I did not need tires at this time. I bought tires from him in 2018 and this was the reason I came back. I appreciated his honesty and helpfulness. I know each person’s experience may be different but if you ask for Larry I hope yours is the same as mine.

Highly recommend! I had an issue with my Yukon and they quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed the wheel bearing, and had me back on the road in no time. Larry, the manager, was extremely helpful and didn't pressure any unnecessary repairs. Great experience from start to finish!

Mike and his crew fixed my sons flat tire this last Monday morning and did it free of charge. They seemed genuinely concerned about helping me get my son back on the road safely and as soon as possible. Great customer experience in a time when those seem hard to come by.
