This is a wonderful educational facility. I graduated from NYCC in 1999 and would recommend this school to all those people who are interested in chiropractic healing art. People that write negative reviews about this school must reevaluate their own self passion towards the art and practice of chiropractic. No hard feelings to anyone as everyone has their own opinions and beliefs. Thank you NYCC now called Northeast College of Health Sciences for making me the best chiropractor.

This review is to offset the undeserving one star review left a few months ago from one of my classmates. I think they forgot that this review was of the college and not the profession. If you to be a chiropractor, you must go to this school. If you want the respect that most doctors get, go to medical school. Chiropractors will never be respected by medical doctors, or the majority of the general public, any time soon. If we want the profession taken more seriously then we need to continue to practice evidence-based chiropractic. This school puts our profession in the best position to be successful by educating our professions best chiropractors.

Debt: You absolutely will have an insane amount of debt. And the average salary of an associate is definitely $65K. My advice is to not stay an associate your whole life. Excel at what you do and you can only be successful. Or, stay an associate if you like it! I made $107,000 my third year as an associate. The fun part about averages is that there is a serious amount of people who make more.
Ethics: I was an associate for 7 years. I worked in a very high volume, very profitable practice and never ever did a school screening, health fair, holiday special, presentation or office drop in. Some chiropractors do these things though. The chiropractor I worked for did them for a decade. Now he owns four practices and employs over 100 people. People need to do those things because they want to grow. How this has anything to do with the review of NYCC? No clue.
"...in reality most patients would benefit more from a monthly massage or personal training session". This is literally an opinion. Saying "in reality" in front of your opinion doesn't make it a fact and to make an inaccurate claim like that is a bit wild when you are as research driven as you are.
Chiro mills are bad. They are a thing tho. At NYCC they actually advised us to look out for these. Chiro mills are the equivalent of that time when medical doctors were being paid by big pharma to give out more oxy. Only the chiropractic version didn't lead to millions of deaths.
Science: He literally gives credit to NYCC on this one. Different schools teach different things. It is the problem with our profession. But, again, if you want to be the best in your field and practice evidence based chiropractic, this is the only place. Fun fact; I had a patient who went to his surgeon 30 years ago with tingling in their toes. They fused his neck. Every profession has idiots.
Education: That quote "Ds and Cs make DCs" is absolutely said all the time and every chiropractor in every school knows about it. It's FUNNY and for some people, it's true. Those are the people who tell their patient's they cured their cancer. And in the medical field, those are the ones who fuse a neck for tingly toes. For perspective, the cuticulum is comparable to medical school in the metric of credit hours. Not content.
Repetitive: Most of your day will be spent treating back pain. There are only so many diagnosis' you will make when it comes to back pain. 90% of your patient's will be repetitive. But 10% won't be and it's our obligation as great doctors to make sure we don't miss that 10% and make sure we get them where they need to be. Also, imagine being an orthopedic surgeon who operates on shoulders? BOOOORRINNNGGGG
Future: "The future of chiropractic is bleak". This was said after saying "the effective aspects of manual manipulation are being adopted by other medical professions such as PTs and orthos". Find me a PT or Ortho who can adjust like a great chiro? No-one adjusts but us because we're better at it. PTs can adjust and DO's can too but the reality is that they don't and they won't be starting soon. But this also shows that what we do is absolutely effective and helpful. Two other profession's are adopting our concepts. I think the future is bright.
Reimbursement rates are going down for medical doctors too. This is across the board so lets not make it seem like insurance companies only crack down on chiros.

Sincerely,
Disappointed

Super campus that provides the tranquility and focus students need to be successful in this intense program. Teachers are approachable and provide tremendous support to contribute towards the success of the students. Cater well to students who are Canadian.
