Cobleskill Outdoor Sports

I've been hunting NY state since the 1978, just not in cobleskill. Kid sister and her husband bought some land and invited me up for a visit. With 3 boys 10, 8, 6 with a 3 months old there was no way I was going to sit in a cabin all day. So hunting it was. My rifle was out for repair so I borrowed my bil's but had no ammo. Stop into cobleskill outdoors sports and Mike ran my info and sold me the ammo. I would always rather pay a little more and look the owner in the eye. I talked to Mike and a local guy that was hanging around for about 1/2 hour after the sale. I'll be back to cobleskill for Christmas week for muzzleloader season, I'm not a muzzleloader kind of guy but I'd look pretty dumb up in a tree stand all day and not have a gun.

Excellent family-owned business. Husband and wife duo, Nancy and Mike, really took care of us.. very knowledgeable and had a great selection of all outdoor sports gear and equipment. It's hard to find, because it's not on a main road, but follow the signs, and you'll get there.

Great shop! Friendly and knowledgeable staff that is always willing to answer questions. Prices are great and the selection is fantastic. I have been to just about every gun shop in the area and these people are second to none. Will absolutely be purchasing here again. Mike and his wife Nancy are very friendly. I like that I am greeted as soon as I enter the store, even when they are with other customers. Mike is very helpful and always willing to answer questions. They are patient and helpful, and they are knowledgeable about the products they sell as well as up to date on laws and regulations. They also buy customer guns to and they give you a fair price by looking up the blue book value right in front of you. I am very happy to recommend his place to my friends and family. I plan to do much more business with Mike in the future. I have purchased several handguns and they were great every time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU STOP AT COBLESKILL OUTDOOR SPORTS BEFORE HEADING ANYWHERE ELSE! The prices are good, the owners are great and it is very likely you will not need to go anywhere else.

I just wanted to take a moment and praise a small business for always going above and beyond for their clients. My wife and I got our pistol permits back in 11/14 and we got two firearms from Mike of Cobleskill Outdoor Sports. My firearm had an issue and Mike helped me send it back in for repair, it came back a week later better than ever. Then my wife decided her 9mm was too big of a gun for her to target shoot ( she will keep the 9mm for carry conceal) so Mike suggested a very affordable .22 and we just picked that up. I have consulted with Mike several times regarding guns for my friends and my family. I have spent a lot of time “window shopping” and Mike was more than happier to answer my questions. I like to really think about things before I buy them and sometimes it’s a pain but this is a serious purchase and its best to know everything you can before you decide to buy a firearm. It’s not that easy to return and get a new one if you don’t like the firearm you just bought. Mike is very knowledgeable when it comes to firearms and he takes his business very seriously. You can see the passion he has for the business and his clients. I am always trying to find a good deal and look for the lowest price and for the most part Mike’s prices have been pretty comparable with the competition if you figure in travel time, gas and hassle to go with the other guys. I am very happy to bring my business to Mike and I am very happy to recommend his place to my friends and family who are just starting their pistol license process. I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the whole process from sale to delivery to repair. This guy stands behind the products he sells and makes sure things are made right if he is given the chance. I plan on doing much more business with Mike in the future.

I'll take a small shop any day over the Box Store corporates, whos help know nothing.
Small stores can't compete on price but they out shine in service & knowledge.
They may not have large inventory, but in my book they have it all.
It's the difference between a Family run restaurant and a drive in chain.
Better to have someone's interest in you, not just a sale.

Super nice group of people who knew what they were talking about. Helped me pick out my first rifle, a bolt action Savage, and walked me through usage and maintenance. If for some reason I find one gun is simply not enough, I will be back.

Great shop. In the days of internet and big box stores. Sure is nice to walk in to a place where they know your name, and not only do they care about their produc, but also the people they sell them to.
Let's see big box stores try to compete with that.
