Gouverneur Hospital

Actually looked forward to my physical therapy here. Karen is a compassionate physical therapist, & the office is full of kind, caring staff. If only there was a pool.

My family member was treated at Gouverneur ‘s Hospital in NY. The staff was great.Thank you to nurse Zach for going above and beyond the call of duty, making sure my nephew had a safe discharge.Thanks to Ms Nancy ,Mr Moore and the PA. My family members and I are grateful.

Every. Single. Encounter. That I have had with this hospital from detox to outpatient care has been PHENOMENAL!!! Never imagined myself needing detox and especially seeking it at Gouverneur Hospital. Well, I ended up in both. I have felt safe and cared for/about in every situation. Standouts are Amanda Hance and her nurse (I’m sorry I can’t remember her name), Momadoo the traveling nurse in detox, Dr. Zewe, Linda in Amanda’s office and Kelly in outpatient substance abuse clinic. Thank you ALL for everything you’ve done to help me out of one of the darkest times of my life!!!

People were great! Friendly and super fast treating my child the only problem is they never called with test results and when I tried to call them. Like 40 times the phone system doesn't work super irritating

Personally I don't have anything bad to say about this place but my grandmother in-law was having a heart attack and they told her it was just her diabetes acting up and to "go home and eat something sweet" next day she went to Canton Potsdam and found out she was having the affects of a heart attack and was rushed to Vermont.

A very unprofessional place. The blonde nurse talked about a patient very rudely when he could hear. Horrible establishment. Do not recommend 100%.

Never been to any hospital where I was treated as poorly. Was not given supplements because I literally could not eat the food provided due to dietary restrictions and was ripped off a medication at warp speed and kicked out the door before I actually get sick from it. Splendid experience. Anyone in need of medical assistance or detox should avoid this hospital at all costs.

Worst ambulance team! My husband and I call 911 yesterday because he wa having a panic attack and the people who showed up at the ambulance were NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL. They were making jokes, talking super loud, making my husband more anxious! The woman there took his blood pressure and said WOOOOW 150 no wonder why you are having a panic attack! Instead of calming my husband they were treating this situation as a total JOKE!! I’m going to the hospital this week and make my claim. THEY NEED TO BE MORE PROFESSIONAL. Worst experience EVER!! We are definitely changing our primary doctor! Even if we have to drive to canton or Potsdam!

A few month ago I had to go to get my teeth checked out cause they were infected. They let my S.O. come in with me. This time we went there cause we both have flu like symptoms but he couldn’t come with me cause he was a visitor ? No he wasn’t he was also sick. So I don’t recommend this hospital at all. Honestly they are useless. I would give it 0 stars if I could that’s how horrible it was.

I went in through ER for pain and was told I had to be transferred to a hospital where they could do an immediate MRI and had neurosurgery capabilities because they were afraid I could cause serious injury by waiting until the next day. Then they couldn't arrange transportation and were just going to leave me in the ER all night on one dose of IV Acetaminophin given at about 9pm. That was supposed to last me through the night and a four hour transfer to Rochester. I went home and called the next day to go in for an MRI and they didn't have the diagnosis he had given me written anywhere, a order for the MRI or anything in the notes that would keep me from having to start from the beginning wherever I was transferred to.

If I could ONLY give them NO STARS I would!!! Took my 4 year old daughter here on Monday with very high fevers told me it was viral. So they sent her home on nothing only doing some tests all came back fine they said her white blood count was high and sodium was low and only giving her a dose of Tylenol and a dose of Motrin and said keep doing what I was doing with fevers around 105+. So she was still ran fevers we brought her back on Thursday and they said she had a ear infection in the right ear and appendicitis so they shipped her to canton-Potsdam and they said it’s not appendicitis and that she had a double ear infection. Gouverneur hospital is a joke my kids will NEVER go back to that ER or hospital EVER !!!!!!! And I will make sure to get the word out that others don’t either!! Also I have been fighting a bill for about a year or 2 that they billed wrong to the insurance company and they were told how to bill by myself and the insurance company

This place is awful. The nurses in the ER are so rude and disrespectful. The second we walked into the place we knew we were about to have a horrible experience the lady at the desk was rude. Every nurse we came in contact with was either rude or acted like we didn’t matter. Sat in this hospital for 6 hrs just to be told were being taken to a different hospital. Honestly drive the distance if you want good care because Gouverneur hospital is not it!

This place acts like when you come in you are there wasting their time. No bed side manner what so ever. Rude to patience and family. Unless you think you are really going to die drive 30 mins to either Watertown or Potsdam.

Absolutely atrocious abomination of a health care center. If I were ever shot or stabbed in Gouverneur, I would just assume die in the street rather than go to that hospital. I mean either way I would likely die, but at least dying in the street would allow me to escape the inevitability of dealing with Gouverneur nurses that don’t care about patients, doctors that have no respect for patients, and a complete disregard for civil behavior across all levels of employees that work there
