Ken's American cafe

This was my first time going to Ken's. The inside is just beautiful. We got to meet Ken, and he is just delightful. Ken explained how he makes the burgers. The waitress was so kind. Food came out promptly and was absolutely delicious. I had the El Paso Burger. It was a huge burger. The burger was so juicy and Packed full of flavor! Best burger I have ever had! French fries are home made and very crispy. Very delicious. I highly recommend if you want delicious freshly made food!

This was our first dining experience at Ken's Diner. We had been checking out the menu for weeks trying to make it a point to go and try.

I ordered the Minneapolis Jucy Lucy Burger with sweet potato fries and my Girlfriend got the Elpaso Burger with regular fries.

Both orders were delicious, well cooked and seasoned. They were also promptly cooked and delivered. Not just within a reasonable time but as described as well as amazingly delicious.

The atmosphere is one of comfort, relaxation, and a bit of the old diner experience just as was expected. We were greeted by the owner who described the burger blend which I won't repeat here.

What I can say is forget the day in day out fast food places up the road. Stop in and give it a try for yourself. See, feel and most importantly taste the difference.

You won't regret it. 😁

Had a good experience here. The char cooked wings were real good, burger juicy, and taco casserole spiced perfectly. The waitress was nice and the food came out quickly and was still very hot when it hit the table. Thank you!

Family took me for my birthday. They made me feel special from the servings of appetizers that were awesome through the entree - barbecued tenderloin tips that melted in my mouth, served with great mashed potatoes & a generous helping of baked veggies - and then they surprised me with a yummy piece of moist choc cake! Couldn't ask for better or faster service.

I've had their marinated sirloin and baked fish and both were good. Their scalloped potatoes are fabulous! The servers were attentive and host very personable. My husband loves their delmonico with mushrooms and onions.

From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted by Sue the hostess who was very welcoming, the place is super clean, the food made by Dan was amazing, there was 4 of us and the prices are very reasonable. Matt the manager and our waitress were very sweet and accommodating. This place is a must go!

After My Dad and I drove from Southwest Florida the previous day heading to Our relative's house in Palermo Maine without so much as a shower and a hot meal, and being either told there were no vacancies at the places we stopped or they were so Horrible, I would have slept at another rest stop using the sink again for a quick wash up. We came across your place and decided to try "One More Time"..... Fingers crossed, The pretty lady behind the counter asked if she could help me... I said " I'm praying you can" when I explained what was going on, she looked a bit concerned and said let me double check, but it's baseball season and I believe we're all booked. I felt like crying.... But then she came out of the back with a big smile on her face and told me they had one room available!!! So, Not only did we get a Clean, Adorable Room, we ate dinner at Ken's American Cafe. Michael was our server and was very attentive. Knowing the rough day that my Dad and I both had, Our Drinks were Always full, The Best New England Clam Chowder was delivered fast and piping hot! I had Home made Fish and Chips in the best beer batter Ever! And my Dad had a Sirloin he said was cooked to perfection! Took dessert back to the room... Had a hot shower and the Best Nights Sleep!!!! My friends & I like trying different places to eat while out riding, this was our first time at KAC.

My friends both had burgers, one with sweet potato fries, the other with home made potato chips, I had the macaroni and cheese burger plate.

My friends finished their meals both of them were stuffed, I on the other hand took a doggie bag, I was full with plenty of food left over ( I don't like being overstuffed when riding).

Unfortunately we all are to much to have dessert, that will have to be another ride.

Ken's gave us good meals at affordable prices, the staff greeted us promptly & sat us, our server Ashely introduced herself to us, she was polite, courteous & respectful, got us our drinks quickly, took our orders & the food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. The owner Ken was talking to patrons & showed genuine interest when talking to us.

Definitely will get to KAC again & hope to introduce more of my biker friends to the dining pleasure that we had today.

Mom's 75th fell on a Tuesday this year, which means most of our regular standby's were closed for dinner. I'm so glad! We were forced to cast our net a bit wider on Yelp, came across Ken's, and our dinner made her day!

I was first through the door, and mentioned mom's birthday to the hostess who seated us. Dominique, our server, greeted me warmly while I waited for mom and dad, filled our water glasses, and had the Chips & Salmon Dip, Coconut Shrimp, and fried Cheese Curds on the table less than a minute after mom sat down! She wished mom a "Happy Birthday" right at the start, and doted over her and all of us throughout the meal, even with several other parties to dote over too! Dad usually grumbles over my mom's and my predilection for appetizers, but he hoovered up the fresh, house-made potato chips - super crispy and done just right - mounded with the smokey salmon dip. They both enjoyed the coconut shrimp so much that I barely got a taste! And mom and I left no crumbs on the cheese curd plate, which is a feat considering how generously they were heaped on the plate! And being in the restaurant biz myself, I noted, even if mom and dad were oblivious, how the empty plates were secreted away immediately by any staff member who wandered by. The kitchen's timing was impeccable - we waited only moments before a table runner arrived with our hot entrees - Dad's Delmonico Steak done to a perfect medium rare and smothered with mushrooms and onions, the way he always orders it, without any extra cost; Mom's BBQ Sirloin Tips, a generous portion also perfectly medium rare, with the sauce on the side ("no problem!"), and my San Francisco Stew - beautifully presented! I had planned to try the Jambalaya, to see if the kinks had been worked out by the kitchen since their opening reviews, but it would appear that Ken and the chef took that early feedback to heart and changed up the menu, replacing it with the mussel, shrimp & fish stew (amazing Snapper tonight!), and it soooo worked! (I might have liked a bit more acid, but that's just me, and I could easily have asked for a lemon wedge).

How good is Ken's? They passed the truest test available! Inevitably when we are at a restaurant, my mom takes a few bites of her food, then places whatever meat is on her plate on my plate. Bottom line, other than a quick taste at the start of the meal, I ate no red meat for dinner last night! Even after the apps, Mom ate ALL of her own dinner, probably for the first time in 50 years! She raved nonstop throughout dinner how tender and flavorful her Sirloin Tips were! Meanwhile, Dad, who seldom has trouble finishing off a queen cut of Prime Rib, asked for a box for the last of his Delmonico, which I'd guess was actually a bit more generous than 12 ozs. from where I sat!

Finally, after dinner, with the plates magically disappearing again, the whole staff appeared behind my mom to sing Happy Birthday and deliver a complimentary slice of homemade Chocolate Cake. Mom was beaming! Dominique offered coffee and I ordered a slice of Ken's homemade Raspberry Cheesecake. As I noted, I own a small coffee shop. Mom bakes my pies and desserts and has developed a following for her Chocolate Cake and her Cheesecake herself. All in all, we could find no fault with either dessert. In fact, we might incorporate a secret or two that we'll steal from Ken's! ;-) Mom and I both decided it was a tie... meanwhile Dad, who is as anti-dessert as they come, quietly finished off the raspberry cheesecake!

I will not hesitate to recommend Ken's American Cafe to my own local lunch customers and regulars for dinner in Oneonta!

Amazing I had put a order through door dash and they had called me and (Tyler ) delivered me and my boyfriends food to us due to DoorDash never showing up ! Ordered (turkey dinner with green beans , cranberry , mashed , and stuffing) Great flavor will definitely eat here again my boyfriend got the pot roast and he loved it

Great food! Friendly staff and Ken makes an appearance around the restaurant checking on the tables. :) It's unfortunate there are bad reviews but like any new restaurant there are kinks to work out and there are bad days. We ordered pizza, shrimp tacos, and steak quesadillas. Yum!

Our first time there. Service was prompt & friendly. We all tried something different, pizza, Mexican, American, & appetizer. Servings were hot ,generous & we rated them all a 10 or close. We'll most certainly be back. Good work guys!

Their burger and hand cut fries were wonderful. Owner was present and actually checked in with us which was very nice. Very welcoming atmosphere.

And the food is really good we had the lunch special which was beer sausage with onions and peppers with house made musturd on a long roll I had the sweet potato fries
And my husband had the potato salad that they make there is so good very good meal
A must have is Ken's raspberry cheese cake is super Awesome a wonderful experience....

I just had my 3rd meal at Ken’s. Each time the food and service were excellent. I highly recommend everyone to give it a try.
