Echo Lake Nature Preserve

Beautiful and remote area with great views!

Echo Lake is peaceful and rugged. Large cliffs plunge deep into the lake to a depth of about 70' at the deepest point. Recommend climbing up the overlook trail and then heading out on the peninsula trail to relax. Plan on about 3 miles round trip from the gate (parking area).

** Don't forget to bring bug spray!

It's very pretty. We went up to the overlook but didn't make it to the peninsula. More signage would never been helpful (like distant to places, or mile markers). Young kids may have trouble on the rocks and roots (just FYI).

It's absolutely beautiful there with its breath taking sceneries. I had traveled down one of the several trails that had roots for stairs during my encounters with the many hills that I had come upon. The only sounds you could hear was the songs of the birds and the occasional chipmunk that had been running through the thick blanket of fallen branches and dead leaves.

Lovely quiet spot, had the whole lake to myself one Monday in August. Unfortunately the view from the overlook will soon be lost if some of the scrubby oaks are not removed.

Gorgeous out here, and it's a bit of a hike, so not usually overly crowded .

This is a remote lake, very well hidden. We were the only group there during our 2-hour stay.

Great spot and fairly easy to find. Watch for logging trucks.
