Great beach area, rather shallow. Walked the shoreline trail from here. Beautiful well kept trail.

My first trip to the UP brought me here. The day was cool with a light rain to sharpen up the green on the trees and the moss.
This whole area, plus Hogs back, was worth the 5 hours it took to get here. Make sure you have enough time for the trails and hiking, or stay in lodging near and come back a few times to get it all.
It can get pretty busy but the area is big enough that you don't feel crowded in. If you hike hogs, it can get slick so be aware.

This spot was suggested to us by a local, as her favorite spot. I can see why. The views of Lake Superior are breathtaking and so are the stairs!! The hidden beaches make the trip seem like the world is all yours! I cant wait to go back!

Nice trails, easy beach access. Would visit again. Just a note, no camping, no bathrooms, no trash bins so carry in, carryout. Very scenic.

Ahhh da U.P.....Lake Superior is named aptly. Don't go there it's terrible- clean air, beautiful woods, clean and cold water. I love my u.p. so..... don't go there.

Small trailhead with easy access to both the lake and the hiking trail. Not as crowded as some of the other bigger spots. Bring your bug spray.

We hike from Sugarloaf Mountain to Wetmore at least once a year and end up swimming at the end. Beautiful scenery.
