Buddy's on the Beach

Location Location Location. Lake Odessa may not be where you'd think it would be, but in this case right on the Public Beach with a great view of the water, Buddy's has it. The atmosphere is very rustic, but in a tasteful way. It feels friendly and inviting.

I ordered the Cowboy Burger ($13). This is a 6oz patty with Pepper jack cheese, bacon, crispy fried onions, and bourbon sauce on a Pretzel bun. I ordered it medium. The burger came correctly cooked and was delicious. It was juicy and the meat was of a good quality. I was worried that 6oz would be too small, but it was a perfect size. I upgraded to fries ($2). They were good, but nothing special. The person I was with ordered the Wolverine Burger ($12). This is also a 6oz patty with bleu cheese, bacon, crispy fried onions, and mustard on a Brioche bun. It was ordered Medium Rare and was cooked perfectly. It was stated to be excellent, and thoroughly enjoyed.

The Service was adequate. Not the best ever, but friendly and efficient-ish considering she was the only inside waitress. Food came out quickly and my drink was refilled without asking, so kudos to that.

Overall a 5 star review. I could knock off a tenth of a star or 2, but that would be looking for problems vs actual problems. Would I return? Absolutely. Great view with Great food.

We popped in with short notice and a party of about 20 people and they made it work. Service was great. They have a dish that they called "Chicken tender bowl". Which I had and features: Hand cut, breaded & seasoned breast (clearly not out of a bag) over homemade mashed potatoes fresh corn and smothered with a flavorful chicken gravy. It's not on the regular menu, but if you like comfort food like THAT! It's a REALLY good one. Beer selection was good and we did a little bowling to burn it all off. Diverse menu with plenty to offer for all tastes.

Strong chance this is my new favorite restaurant. I googled places to eat in the area and they drew me in with a picture of a wet burrito. The burrito was amazing. Portion sizes are HUGE and we all loved it. The waitress was very attentive and fun. I will be back here any time we are in the area!

First time here, Misty our waitress was excellent!! We both had the cod fish basket. Cod was excellent and big portions. Fries were excellent and three times more than we could eat . Misty recommended if we had an air fryer they were good to reheat.
Definitely would recommend Buddies we will be back worth the drive from Lansing.

We love Buddy’s on the Beach! The food and drinks are amazing. Plus you can’t beat that view of the water while you are eating. It’s great they have covered patio seating so you can enjoy the weather in the shade while you watch all the boats, swimmers, kayakers, etc. play in the water. Today we got a sub with waffle fries and it was amazing. The sun was huge and the fries had this amazing seasoning on them. We got takeout today so we didn’t get drinks, but they have AMAZING drinks. Plus bowling alley? What more could you want. Highly highly recommend!!

First time here and will be back soon! Fish and chips was delish! Pizza sub and baked spaghetti (special) along with the ham dinner were all really good! There's also a bowling alley attached, but no worries, you don't hear it in the dining area, at least not on a Saturday night 😁. Prices are also pretty reasonable with the exception of the ham dinner, that was a bit pricey for what you get.

The ambiance is definitely great. The food was amazing. Service was friendly and prompt! We live pretty far away from here and we're attending an event and found this place! We would definitely return again!

Look forward to eating here whenever we come over this way, but our recent visit was awful. Ordered appetizers that came out cold and then a meat lovers pizza with mushrooms. Waitress let's us know they only made a mushroom pizza so instead of remaking it correctly they just threw the meat topping on a cooked mushroom pizza. To top it off they put some type of Salami on it and when questioned about it was told it was their pepperoni which we had another pizza with pepperoni on it and this was not the same stuff. Definitely disappointed with the visit.

When I look to the left and see bowling and then look to my right and see a lake, I know I'm gonna have a good time! The serving sizes were HUGE and the food was dang good. If I go to Lake Odessa again, I'll probably be in Buddy's on the Beach.

Love the damn good burger, and some homemade chips with a side of damn good dip for my chips! My wife ordered pizza with cauliflower crust and that was damn good too! Highly recommend this place if you are ever in Lake Odessa! One of our favorites when in the area!

Very nice place for lunch with my daughter. Has the taco platter special. Delicious.

What a great place. You get a good variety of food and appetizers. Wide selection of beers including a rotation of micro brews. It also just happens to have its own bowling alley! Set on the shores lake Odessa giving the patio a wonderful view and also a beach for swimming. Docks to park the boat and run in for lunch. There staff is great and the place has a heart vibe.. Definitely worth a trip and there open at 11am Sundays!!

My niece and I were having an adventure day and decided to stop for lunch at Buddy's. What a great decision that was!! We sat on the patio, had a beautiful view of the lake. Our server was so friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. After lunch we took a stroll out on the docks to enjoy the lake a little closer. Very nice addition to our adventure day. I will visit again when I am in Lake O!! Thanks Buddy's on the beach!! 😊

So this is the first time my wife and I have been here. It is located in Lake Odessa, and it sits right next to Jordan lake. The food was excellent and so was the service. They have outdoor seating and we took advantage of that and watched the boats go by as we ate our food. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.

Really good food, view is great. So nice to be able to pull up in the boat to eat!

Fun local restaurant right on the beach. Just like they say. It’s open but with limited seating due to Covid. Good food, good service, OK prices.
I went for lunch and ordered the Reuben. Lots of slaw and cheese and dressing. The corn beef was excellent. Very lean and chunks of meat rather than slices. The fries are pretty greasy, but they taste great. That means you will want to eat all of them which is fortunate or unfortunate depending how well you handle greasy food.

Looks like they have a small stage in one corner and entertainment on an occasional basis. Lots of beers to choose from. It also looks like there is a bowling alley on one side of the building. It wasn’t running when I was there.

As you can see from the picture, I sat inside. They do have outdoor seating which is quite nice. You are right on the lake. Great view. Good place to take a date or your spouse.

Very cute little place. Tons of food for the price. Fries were perfect along with the spinner pizza. (Spinach artichoke, chicken, mozzarella cheese) will be back when passing through again.

We had a large group of adults and children. The food was very good and the service was excellent

Unique bar/restaurant in Lake Odessa. It is set on a small beach section. The inside is casual, and there's a bowling alley. There is also seating outside so you can be close to the beach. Portions are large. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer, which I think was 1/2 pound. My husband and I split the cod dinner and was both full. The batter on the fish was excellent and the fish was flakey. Way more fries than we needed, but they were the thinner cut ones like we both like, so we ate all of them. The coleslaw was great, it was very flavorful and thick and creamy. Great service made this place even better!

I went there for my fist time and enjoyed it there .. Our server ida was very good and did a very good job …. Ty for everything
