Ed's Altronics is a real gem... I've lost count of how many times Ed, the owner, has helped me out of a jam. He always seems to have what I'm looking for, can do electronic repairs, and more! Purchases there have included TV's, batteries, cables, etc. It's wonderful to have something like this on Route 1, where you can talk to someone who knows what they're doing! :)

Ed is a super friendly & knowable! He's got all kinds of old school receivers to old tube radios! Bought a nice used but in perfect condition Denon 7.1 HDMI receiver (500.00 new) for 180.00...works great!!! Always willing to make a deal!

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! I popped in to check out their selection, hoping I could pick up a mic for my Yaesu FT101EE and I was blown away! He knows SO MUCH about everything Amateur Radio and CB! Not only did he help me get what I needed for my rig, he also gave me some great tips on making antennas! 11/10 would recommend to anyone interested in ANYTHING radio!

Ed is extremely nice and knowledgeable, there is lots of vintage HI-FI equipment there ranging from speakers to turntables to amps to reel to reel players, all of which is priced very fairly. There are also TVs and just about any electronic item you'd want. I truly think this is one of Maine's, and definitely southern Maine's, best electronics and audio stores.

Stopped in to get my Grandfather’s (originally purchased in 1971) Scott Type 715 Turntable Vintage Solid State Stereo Amplifier Garrard 2506 fixed as most of the original mechanisms & functions have not worked correctly for almost 20+ years. Ed’s Shop is loaded with amazing variety of Hi-Fi Tuners, Turntables, Speakers, Reel to Reels, CBs and TVs. His knowledge, patience, persistence & overall skills are second to none in the New England area! Many years ago I was told no one in the Maine/NH/MA area could fix this Stereo and I would have to ship to upstate NY for repairs; today Ed diagnosed it, repaired and made it like new in an Hour! Amazing! Ended up chatting about many models of turntables, receivers, Speakers that he has in his shop and I’m only going to recommend people seeking any audio equipment to shop here and nowhere else! I will definitely return for any audio needs in the near future. You should do the same and just skip any and all big box stores; the prices here and attention to detail are beyond anything you’ll receive. Thanks for getting this System back to working order!

A gem! Not sure usual electronics store but once you visit you won't want to go anywhere else. Lots of vintage Hi-Fi, CB and HAM radio equipment. Ed is an an audio guru and amazing source of knowledge. No offense to Best Buy but Ed can field questions and solve technical difficulties that would short circuit the collective brain power of any big box store. He can not only explain how to operate things and set them up but also how they actually function.
Keep in mind; this is a 40yo store that's packed with old electronics. Be prepared to feel more like your entering an inventor's workshop than a sales floor.
