The Beer Cellar Glen Ellyn

This is our “go to” place nearly every Friday afternoon. Fabulous selection of draft beers changed out nearly daily. The selection of available to go beers is phenomenal. As well, they carry a great selection of fine spirits.

The atmosphere is simple hang out. There are tables inside and out (when the weather cooperates). They also offer burritos from another local joint, making it the perfect combination of food and drink.

Overall, the Beer Cellar is doing it “right”!

Great beer and liquor selections and the bartenders are super friendly. Definitely a go to spot for craft lovers looking to try many different kinds of beers. They are constantly rotating taps and the beer will be cold and fresh.

Wonderful establishment with great service, selection, and staff. Hard to find a place with such a friendly inviting atmosphere that is dynamic, but also a routine welcoming experience, especially the patrons. Gives off Cheers vibes.

The Beer Cellar is a top notch place for all of your craft beer desires. I've been coming here since their days in the basement (they even supplied the beer for my wedding), and the move to the current location was a great step to take since it came with the addition of a "tap room"! The owner, Dave, is a really great guy, and most of the staff as a whole are a great bunch who are knowledgeable about their product. The selection is incredible, while you couldn't find your usual domestics here if your life depended on it, the less common and exclusive beers make this place a destination for any craft enthusiast. They update their social media daily with new brews, so it's worth following. They have a bar top and have expanded into the next door unit to have more seating options, plus the patio if you get something on tap, and you're allowed to bring your dog! Great location in downtown Glen Ellyn and right by the train station. They offer some snacks and occasionally have food trucks out, but there are also tons of nearby food options you can bring in too. Prices are reasonable by craft beer standards. They do also serve some wine if beer isn't your thing. Really appreciate how their NA selection has grown too!

These guys are the best. The whole staff is friendly and inviting. I’ve been buying my brew here once a week for the last five years and will continue to make GE Beer Cellar my beer spot. Cheers!

Always a fun time! If you don’t know what to get ask the bartender/beer experts! They have something for everyone. Recently added board games to bring to the table and you can bring your own food in. Perfect spot for those who want to have a fun time with friends without having to host everyone

This is the best place to buy beer in the western suburbs. The beer is always fresh and well curated. The staff is awesome too, they are very friendly and quick to strike up a conversation about beer and hep you find something new to try. Now in their new space They have 10 beers on tap that rotate regularly with great fresh beer from the area. I often find myself looking for an excuse to drive through Glen Ellyn just to go here.

Actually get good craft IPAs on tap and cycle them. Best place to try new beers.

Love this place! Their selection on tap is always great and they're take home is even better! Dave is the owner and he is a clean freak! I love it! Their tap lines are always super clean and so is the rest of the place! I don't think I've ever seen a speck of dust! Love going in to pick up something new and exciting or just to have a beer after work!

Have a beer while you look for some beer to take home. The variety is incredible. Best place to bring your boys to crack one open. They even have wine for the lovely lady in your life. I especially look forward to the neck beard nectar release every year and the advent calendar. I’ve discovered a lot of good beers here, and have had some that I won’t probably find again for a while.

Best bottleshop I've ever known. Amazing selection, well curated. They get all the small batches and limited releases. Their taplist is always phenomenal. They just expanded their indoor seating. Great job with COVID precautions. Fantastic regular clients. I cannot recommend this place enough!

You will not do better for selection and depth of knowledge of the variety of beer offered! The beer is fresh. The inventory is consistent yet ever evolving with the growing craft beer market. Buy your go to and grab a new beer to try while you're there. Dave or any of the employees will gladly help you find your new favorite beer.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and variety of selection on the tap/can/bottles for beers ciders and meads. Hung out for a couple of hours with a buddy and enjoyed a couple varieties of libations.

Best beer store in the suburbs by a long shot! Their selection is killer. Always have Hop Butcher shipments on Thursdays, though they go fast. Probably good that they’re expanding in Geneva. They have an ever-creative tap list, friendly staff, cool brewery merchandise on occasion, and they even had a launch party for Phase Three. Plus they’re essentially the tap room for (last time I checked) the highest rated brewery in Illinois on untappd—saison specialists called Afterthought Brewing. The only downside is people caught on a year or so ago so the good stuff can go fast.
