Cheap, good and clean!
Food court offers all kind of Japanese food for dine in and take out. Everything is incredibly cheap. I’m so surprised with the or that I paid. It’s $26 for chirashi and ramen. Chirashi comes with miso soup which is free refill. Ramen comes with 4 pcs of gyoza.

You can order yourself at the computer or counter. It’s very convenient.

There are so many tables available for dining in. Water is also provided. The restrooms are nice and clean.

After you finish your meal, you have to put away all dirty dishes to help keeping it clean for the next customers.

We walked around the market after lunch. There are so many products both fresh and instant goods.

I hope you will enjoy eating and shopping here.

This market was a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city! We spent a good two hours here, browsing the stalls and enjoying a delicious lunch. My husband, a huge fan of these markets, and declared this his favorite market yet for sushi - the fish was incredibly fresh and the sushi was melt-in-your-mouth amazing!

Everyone we met at the market was so friendly and welcoming. It had such a wonderful down-to-earth atmosphere, a stark contrast to the city shops. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this market to anyone looking for fresh food, friendly faces, and a relaxing shopping experience!

Such a cute little grocery store with a wonderful mini food court in the back. Their udon was very flavorful and sushi was great as well! Prices were very reasonable.

Fantastic Japanese store with an awesome and comfortable food court. Their menu is great; we tried katsudon, takoyaki, and salmon teriyaki. Free miso soup refills! The market itself has a great selection of Japanese grocery and household items, and even a section of Sanrio and other cute products. Definitely keeping it in my list of favorite places to shop at.

This is the perfect alternative to Mitsuwa. It’s a smaller Japanese grocery store/bakery shop and there’s a restaurant inside. I wouldn’t call it a food court since a food court typically involves multiple restaurants in one area. The bakery selection has different buns wrapped for easy convenience. I tried a few and they’re delicious. They’re perfect for snacks and breakfast on the go.

I came here specifically for the restaurant. You can order from the kiosk (2 screens on the right) or you can order from the cashier. Prices are very cheap. They give you a number, you find a table, and wait. If you go on a weekend, you have to give them some slack because it does get busy. I went on a Wed night and surprisingly it was busy for a week night. They called out my number, gave us our order, two styrofoam cups for drinks, and a few styrofoam cups with lids for the miso soup. Portions were very generous for the price. Everything was made fresh and quality was exceptional. They have plenty of seating.

-katsu don 5 - pork cutlet was a good size for sharing, moist, and tender. It comes with a salad.
-miso soup 5 - you’ll find two pots with miso. It’s all you can eat. Make sure you get some tofu in your soup.
-unaju set 5 - I love eel so I was elated to see a more than adequate amount of eel in here. It was perfectly tender and melts in your mouth.
-king of salmon set 5 - I wasn’t expecting much quality wise but this surpassed my expectations. Salmon to rice ratio was above par.

This is one of me and my husband’s favorite places to go for sushi! They also have other food like chicken plates and bowls. I highly recommend Tensuke.

I recommend stopping here to anybody from out of town. I've never seen so many Japanese products in a market before and I was so excited I wanted to buy everything! The food court is also really cool, they have kiosks so even if you're not familiar with the menu, you don't feel pressured when placing your order. The food was well-priced and you get a lot for what you pay for, and it'll definitely fill any sushi cravings you have! I'll go here anytime I'm going through Chicago from now on!

I don’t know where to beginning…

Tensuke is a market/grocery shop as well as a food court

Before covid, the food court used to be very small probably only 10 tables but after they remodeled now can hold around 30 tables

Food, super affordable and fresh(thanks to being in a grocery shop lol).  I normally order two order of the sushi deluxe which has 8 piece of sushi for $11.95; YES that is like $1.5 per sushi and the salmon is not even small lol

I also like their Unaju, grilled eel over steam rice $12.95; a lot of eel!  Everything they have is over sized for a very reasonable price!

We also like their grilled salmon set for $11.50

Their rice is actually sticky, unlike kura lol

Miso soup is all you can drink

If you order a meal, it comes with a choice of salad, drink, gyoza or edamame

An absolutely gem in Elk Grove Village! My doctor's office is out there and after my appointment, I wanted some delicious sushi without breaking the bank and boy oh boy this was a treat! It's a supermarket and a cafeteria all in one. You walk up to the counter and order your food and it was quick and efficient. Then they call you number and voila! You get your own chopsticks, napkins and little soy sauce plate and the best part is all you can drink Miso Soup! Yum yum!!! Area is pretty big so you have plenty of seating room and it was so good we went back again the next month!

Excellent quality sushi and sashimi! The market itself is always well stocked and less overwhelming than their competitor. I prefer this food court as well. The only thing I wish they would do is use their house pickled ginger with the to go rolls instead of the packets because I love their ginger. Even though I live in Chicago I have been coming here for the last few months and highly recommend it! 👍🏻

I had a great experience at the food court when I ordered sushi to go. The staff members were very nice and accommodating. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my sushi was already waiting for me, with an ice cube inside to keep it fresh. I decided to substitute white rice for brown rice, and I must say, it was a delicious choice. It was a pleasant surprise for me as it's not often that restaurants offer this option. I personally prefer brown rice over white rice, so this made my meal even more enjoyable.

The sushi itself was huge and incredibly delicious. I was impressed by the quality and taste of the sushi. It's safe to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would love to have this food court closer to my house. Overall, a fantastic experience with great food and excellent service.

I love that the groceries here are cheaper than mitsuwa and the food court serves a good variety of food. The seafood soup is huge with generous amount of ingredients. The bento seems pretty popular so I ordered it and it wasn’t too bad, just that the salmon is a little fishy and tempura broccoli is non-authentic so a little disappointed. But the egg rolls were really delicious!!

My absolute favorite place to eat in the Chicago/Wood Dale area. The people and the food are top notch and the prices are fantastic. Casual atmosphere and food court decor. Honest and friendly staff both at the register and the food counter. I've eaten almost everything on the menu at least once now and I can definitely say it's all delicious and not Americanized in the least. I keep coming back every time I'm in town.

I haven't purchased anything from the main grocery store section so I can't speak to that, only the food court.

Modest sized Japanese market with robust selection of food items in the grocery store and food court. The food in the food court is high quality and reasonably priced. Order at the kiosk and find a seat in the low key yet modern dining area. Great for a quick bite to eat.

Convenient place for lunch or dinner fast meals. Lots of selections to choose from.
You get a lovely grocery bag of you sign up for reward member account. Items are more expensive than regular US stores, but are all Japanese food choices.
They've renovated to include a eating area with nice seating. You can order food directly from the kiosk, and ready for pickup very fast. Miso soup is self served and refillable. A great selection of food choices that you will normally find in a Japanese restaurant. There are also pre-made sushi/rolls boxes in the refrigerator area for you to choose from.

So disappointed that we did not find this place earlier. As a sushi fanatic, this place definitely definitely provides an experience that is different! We ordered an assortment of nigiri sushi’s as well as a roll set and ramen. Although we love Mitsuwa, it’s so wonderful to have another authentic Japanese dining and grocery shopping experience.
