To the naysayers who have never worked in a power plant or even been to one. This station has provided clean reliable power for many years using the latest technologies. Scrubbers for SO2 removal, SCR's for NOX, dry bottom ash systems to allow ash ponds to be closed & capped. All this pollution control equipment was installed at a cost of hundreds of millions of dollars. The plant has also provided thousands of good paying jobs over the years to the area (full time employees & contractors) and pumped millions of dollars into the local economy through taxes. For those saying to close all coal fired plants you better be careful what you ask for.....remember the sun doesn't shine at night (when you're charging your EV and the wind doesn't always blow. By the way.... your electricity doesn't just come from a switch on the wall!

Worked there as a security guard from 2006 to 2013. Overall not a bad place. Am kinda tired of all those idiots that think that wind and solar are gonna solve everything.
They simply cannot produce enough power for our growing needs.
This plant produces over 3,000 megawatts. It takes almost 6,000 wind turbines to produce that much and that is when it is sufficiently windy out and solar is not effective on a cloudy day like we typically see in a winter day around here. Like or not, coal or NG doesn't rely on a source that may or not be there every day.

The electricity they generate here is top notch. Among the best I've had in the area. Much better than batteries.
