This was a great place!! The museum has so much stuff to see! The train depot as well! Well worth stopping to see it. The school house is awesome. A perfect example of a one room school house. Lots of antiques to see in the little town as well. We planned a quick trip for a selfie at the popcorn ball but ended up staying to see all the things.

Neat stop about 5 miles off the highway! If you're into that kinda stuff like me, it's worth it! I did not go into the museum but I loved the small town center in the back!

Come for the popcorn stay for the cute town. Corny as it may be, stopping off Hwy 20 to view for oneself the iconic popcorn ball is quick and fun. The museum is next door as well as some other cool little buildings . Brochures available telling you about the Ball and town. Def grab the one about barn quilts. Drive through the neighborhood a little bit, super cute houses and a lot of garage sales the Saturday we went. Lots of yard art and friendly locals offering a wave. A-maize-ing (sorry, I had to haha).

We have been looking forward to seeing this for quite some time and it was absolutely wonderful. Plus there’s a whole Pioneer Village with different buildings that you can look through the windows of on the grounds. All wonderfully maintained. Thank you all.

Easy to find this piece of Americana in the roadside park outdoor museum. Interesting setting on the mainstreet through town with parking close by, well maintained grounds and walkways. Worth the visit.

My wife and I were passing though the areas from Washington having stopped at several corn centric attractions. Unfortunately it was closed and we weren’t able to go inside but even from the outside this place was great. Can truthfully say it’s better than the Corn Palace in SD. If your cruisin by on the highway take a minute to see an impressive world record.

Amusing and huge! The town is worth driving through, beautiful old homes. Gas station and general store across the street.

Large and in charge! Cool to see. Probably better to see during museum hours so you make it worth it.

A very "corny" tourist attraction! But hey, when you're travelling cross-country, these are exactly the types of off the beatin' path stops to make! Thanks for the memory, Sac!

I would like to preface this review by stating that I would rate the Holy Popcorn Ball 100000 stars out of 5 if I could. However, 5 is the highest I can rate it here.

Let me start by asking you a question. Have you ever seen something so amazing, so pure, so beautiful, that your heart stopped briefly? Well, I have. And that heart-stoppingly beautiful object was located at 1300 West Main Street in Sac City, Iowa. Yes, that's right. The World's Largest Popcorn Ball.

Before we begin the review, a bit of history. In the year of 400 BC, a mysterious deity in space was hungry. The deity made its favorite snack, popcorn. As the deity ate the popcorn, it spilled a meager amount. That meager amount fell from space and settled in Northwest Iowa. Many years later, settlers discovered this popcorn. To the settlers, the ball of popcorn was incredibly large. So, they named it the World's Largest Popcorn Ball, and built the town of Sac (short for Sacramental Popcorn Ball) City. The Ball was previously listed as one of the seven wonders of the world, but was de-listed as it took away too much attention from things like the Pyramids in Egypt. Today, it is but a hidden holy site for travelers.

Nowadays, the ball is settled in a beautiful white building that pays tribute to its creator. One can walk right up to the window in front of the ball and pay homage to the space deity who graced the earth with his blessing. Personally, I have paid homage to the popcorn ball multiple times, and each time I have paid homage I have been blessed with incredible luck for the following day. Many other travelers can attest to this.

I do not fully understand or grasp the powers of the popcorn ball. but I continue to expand my scientific research into the magical history of this magical ball. I wish many blessings on to any travelers who visit this holy site in the future, and that they may also experience the feelings that many before them have been given by the ball.

Love seeing the world's largest I think there so cool and this was another really cool thing to stop and see. We only stopped long enough to take pictures and read about it and sign the book but it's worth it

I almost gave myself whiplash when I passed the sign on hwy 71 eastbound. I mean......how can you not stop?! I love quirky small town America attractions like this. What a creative way to attract the traveling publics' dollars into your community. You can tell by the signage how the community pulled together on this project. Kudos to you and your community pride!

I drove Hwy 20 from Newport, OR to Boston, MA. This was a fun little stop along the way. I travel by myself with my 2 Australian Shepherds and it was summer time so I look for fun short stops. The dogs and I had a little walk. Popcorn balls are a favorite of mine and I have been known to spend $100 on 4 of them more than once at 4H fundraising auctions. Lol.

Sac city's ball of joy!
The Museum was closed during my visit. However it was a great place to stop while sight seeing and exploring the new area just after moving across states.
