The Stem and Stein

Talk about great selection!!!! The atmosphere is great and the steak is even better! I couldn’t choose beer or wine so I ended up having a flight of both and enjoyed them both equally as well!

The food that we had was amazing! We tried two different crostini’s and my husband had yet to so talking about them both! It’s a small area, so get there early to get a seat, you’ll be happy you did!

This place has been on my list of places to go and have a drink for awhile. I've bought to-go beer here before but I never got something to eat and drink. Due to a change in plans, we stopped by and got something to eat. I'm so glad we did!

This is a nice casual place to get a drink and a bite to eat. Great craft beer on draft selection. Also a really long list of bottled/ canned beer and also a pretty large selection of wine. The food was really good too.

I got the soft pretzel trio starter. Very good. The homemade hummus was amazing. The cheese dip was also really great. I then got the jalapeno popper and bacon panini and also got chicken added for an upcharge. Let me tell you, that sandwich was so good! Definitely quality food.

Then after a few beers they have a great selection of craft beer yo take home. All hard to find stuff and priced well.

We really enjoyed our wine and dinner here, the service was also great. Even had the opportunity to meet one of the owners. 10/10.

Lovely little hole in the wall! All kinds of beers & wines available to buy. VIP Board was amazing and the Strawberry Summer Salad was big & perfect for a hot day!

We absolutely loved the atmosphere, the staff was knowledgeable about the wine options and my husband was very happy with the beer selection. You need to try the pimento brisket sliders! We highly recommend The Stem and Stein for a low key evening out.

Liked this little place. Craft draft beer prices were great. They have a small selection of craft beer in bottles and cans but all of it looked like new releases.

Um $10 wine tasting on Thursdays will always be a go for me!! They have the best cheese & meat charcuterie boards to pair them with and their bottles are reasonably priced. Will be back!

Fun little place for wine tasting on a date night.

The beer selection is amazing. I've had approximately 300 different beers, so it's difficult for me to find a beer I haven't had. 90% of their beers on tap are ones I had never tried before. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was great.

The atmosphere, selection and staff at The Stem and Stein are hard to beat! Delicioso food options served In a quaint and friendly setting. The knowledgeable staff has been so helpful with finding hard to get items or recommendations for great pairings.

Went around 4-5 on a Saturday afternoon. So cozy, great atmosphere. The pours are generous and the wines are so much better than other bars/restaurant. Met family there and had great drinks and conversation. The owner (Jess) is so personable and even had time to sit with us for a while. Our new date night spot for sure! Bought a couple of bottles to go as well. Will definitely be back to eat and drink!

Always a nice place to have a drink, the staff are very friendly and let you sample the beer on tap so you can find what you are looking for. I've personally only ever had beer at this location, but they have a large selection of wines to choose from and everything seems to be priced pretty reasonably. The back patio is a nice place to go chill if you're looking for more of an outdoor experience. Very relaxed place to have a drink and hangout. More of an older crowd than a younger one.

First experience opinion I would have to say while this is a small quaint place I absolutely enjoyed the atmosphere and feel. Staff was fast and friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. Met with friends for drinks here and played roulette by giving server choice as to my drink and glad I did as I tried something new and great. Overall had a great experience and will most definitely be glad to visit again

I absolutely love this place. When you walk in you're hit with these great smells and sounds. The food is incredible. They're always playing good music. The service is unmatched anywhere around. They offer an outstanding selection of wine and beer that you can enjoy there or take to go. If I lived near by I'd be there several times a week. All of the regulars are inviting and friendly. It's definitely a home away from home.

This place is pretty fantastic. Whether you are there for their extensive tap selection, wine selection, or tapas style food, you will not be disappointed. On this particular visit, I was there to pick up a six pack of an eclectic beer, and Stem and Stein was the only local establishment to have it in stock. Ali and Jess never disappoint and always seem to have those rate gems in stock. Stem and Stein is one of the best places to go to eat and drink in Madison!

Can 100% recommend stopping by and having a beer or two on tap or enjoying a bottle beer from pretty much anywhere in the world. The wine selection is good as well. The times I have been here the service has been great and friendly. It's a tiny place on the inside but pick the right night weather wise and you can enjoy the big patio out back which is the sweet spot! Bring some friends and relax and you won't be disappointed at all!

A great casual bar for both wine and beer lovers. It's a great place to hang out with friends after work or on the weekends, but they also have an assortment of food offerings and an outdoor seating area if you want to make it a date night. They sell bottles of wine if you discover a new one that you love. They also have love music a few nights a week.

Small little place, but very enjoyable. I like their live music and they have an excellent selection of beer and wine, both on tap and available for retail sale. Their menu is fairly small, but it is delicious! I also recommend the porch area out back.

It's a cute little hole in the wall that has been around for at least a decade. The wine list is excellent ($10 corkage plus retail price for any bottle), and they have 10-17 beers on tap at any point. Ali and Jess are a lot of fun, and they've done a great job as owners after working as bartenders for years.
