Vernon Burger

Cutest family-owned diner. We stopped by on a road trip.
This burger is SO GOOD, like home made. Even the tomatoes were ripe and good. You can't beat the price. We fed 4 people with 2 burgers, chicken finger basket, frito pie, 2 big bags of fries, jalapeño poppers (6), and 4 drinks... less than $40!
My pro tip for burgers...put jalapeño poppers on the burger!

Wonderful experience! While passing through on a road trip was looking for a pet friendly place to take a break. Arrived as they were closing, they offered to stay open and cook for us, everything was fresh and delicious! After they brought out the food, they told us if we needed anything to let them know while they were cleaning and closing up for the evening. Prices are cheap for the quality of food, was surprised.

It was nice to support local! They didn't have public restrooms, no problem.
We sat outside and enjoyed the food and break from riding in the car.
Will definitely stop here again if we are passing through!

We chose to try something different today... Came to dine in at the Vernon Burger. Was the best I've had in a long time. The chicken fried steak was awesome too. Walking up outta here like... HEY, HEY, HEY !!!!

On our way to DFW we decided to stop at this little place. When I tell you this place is SO DAMN GOOD! we got our food super quick and the staff was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We got the double meat and fried rice and it came out PIPING HOT! it looked a little bland but looks were deceiving because it was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend anyone who's stopping through to try this place!

We love Vernon burger. The food is always good and the servers are always friendly. When you order the rice, you get enough for two people. I never share cause I know I'll always want more later.

Very cool 50's theme little burger joint. There is indoor and outdoor seating and a drive through. Not as fast as fast food service, but much tastier. The burger meat was a huge portion. Options for additional toppings. The chunky french fries had seasoning salt and were crispy on the outside and soft inside, yum!
My fried had a fried catfish basket which her and the kiddos liked. There is a railing around the covered outdoor area that makes it very family friendly (helps with the herding of cats 😉). Very conveniently located close to the highway and with plenty of parking on all 3 sides of the restaurant. Gas stations closeby so you can fill up your tank and tummies.

Great food for a good price. Everything from a burger to Chinese. And all is wonderful. Always more than I can eat in one seating. Love it

Great small place with huge burgers and fries. Heard the make a mean fried rice too. Might be back sooner than I expected! Service was top notch. Highly recommend when traveling through.

A must for road trips. They have homemade burger patties that are to die for. On the other side of the menu they had killer fried rice, that you have to eat with their home made sweet and sour sauce, so good.

One of the best hamburgers in Vernon. Also great shrimp basket. Very small place to dine in, but very fast service trough pick up or drive through. In Vernon Texas do not miss this one

Great stop for road-trip burgers! Skip the fast food joints on 287 and come over here instead. Really good food in a super cute old diner with plenty of outdoor seating and a drive through. We called ahead while driving, and our burgers and tater tots were ready on arrival. Others said burgers were small, so we ordered doubles - which was totally unnecessary. They were huge! Definitely coming back next time we're on the road.

So pleasantly surprised by the excellent burger and tater tots, great service and fair prices. Really enjoyed our road trip pit stop here and will return anytime I pass through Vernon.
