El Molcajete restaurante mexicano

We weren't planning on eating here. We really didn't know where to go for supper. We looked at reviews and decided to try it out. We were not let down at all. Great wait staff, amazing food, and the desert was so good I ate it gone before I got a picture. :) Well worth the drive.

The Molcajete was on point! Delicious! Also love the free charro beans with purchase!

Great authentic Mexican food. One of few places that actually have horchatta daily. The Molcajete Sabor a Mexico is a great go to dish for a party of two or four. They season everything really well and the tortillas are made fresh in-house. We would highly recommend checking this place out if you want real Mexican food.

Best Mexican food in VM!

The food was great better than any other Mexican restaurant we have tried around the area. Service was on point; the lady that took care of us was very polite and made sure we were taken care of. Definitely think about giving this place a try👍

There are dozens of great dishes here, but the chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce are AMAZING! Flavor and seasoning in the chicken was shockingly good! These are now some of my favorite chicken enchiladas and I was left craving more the next day. I’m a Mexican food (Tex-Mex) enthusiast, so this is a high complement. Very friendly service, too! If you need brunch, lunch, or dinner in this area, I highly recommend giving it a try!

Cons/Suggestions:
• No mixed drinks, but you can BYOB (?)
• Sometimes only a couple of people are working, so service might be slow at times. Worth it if not in a rush. This family works hard to cook great food!
• Maybe call ahead to see if they’re open if it’s a Sunday or Monday and if you have a decent drive.

The food is always hot and fresh. Always delicious and so much you must take a to-go box! The Best Charro Beans!!!

Worth the drive up on the backroads from Temple. Had the fresh uncooked chili rellenos deep fried in pancake batter that was very crispy on the outside and steaming hot on the inside. Different, but excellent. Finished our Sunday drive to Waco to catch the I35 home in time for the playoffs.

I love the food here. My ultimate favorites are Barbaco, Carne de Sada, Goat.

Large Menu, I can't wait to try more!! I have the tostada de ceviche and a hard taco. Both were delicious. My husband's side cabbage dish was amazing. I will be back for Caldo soon!

Great Mexican Restaurant. Highly recommend if your looking for a taste of real Mexican food. The cheese enchiladas are very good. So are the chicken fajitas (tacos or plate), bean and cheese with bacon tacos, and chips n salsa. The staff is so kind.

We stopped in for a quick lunch and they made us a custom bean burrito with beans, rice, potatoes, avocado, lettuce, and tomatoes. It was absolutely delicious. I don’t think I’ve ever had a homemade burrito sized tortilla but that’s what they used in our burritos. I highly recommend this place for authentic food.

They catered our wedding. Everyone has raved about the food. It was absolutely delicious!
