Our Savior's Lutheran Church at Norse

A beautiful little cemetery and church. The grounds are well maintained and most of the stones are legible and clean, especially the new ones. The older ones are weatherworn and some of them are even in Norwegian. I enjoyed my time walking around. The church itself, their doors were unlocked so I let myself in and sat in the pews to rest my feet.

Beautiful church and lovely people. We went for Smorgasbord, their Annual fundraiser dinner and it was fantastic. The church has done the fundraiser since 1947(?).

It started with a few traditional Norse songs sung by a woman in traditional dress and then we filed in for dinner. Take a little bit of everything and then you can go back for seconds after everyone leaves. The "help" is parishioners in native Norse garb with much handed down over several generations.

For $25 each, it was amazing. Buy their recipe book at the end, even if you don't cook.

It's an absolutely beautiful church. Rich in history and situated in a peaceful rural setting.
