Firehook Bakery

Stopped by the Firehook Bakery for breakfast on my way to Jones Point Lighthouse. Good food, fast service, clean. Seemed to be very busy with a lot of locals as customers. Good sign. Will revisit.
Update- Last few times I noticed people parking in the street to buy the baked goods here. Take that for what you will.

Stumbled upon this cafe while on a walk with my girlfriend, we walked in and the pastries instantly caught our attention, it’s an amazing selection and I wanted to try them all. We ended up getting a ham and cheese croissant and a spinach and feta croissant, both were delicious! Also had a slice of the tres leches cake which was huge and tasted amazing. Washed it down with an iced latte which wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it hit the spot. Everything was fairly priced and we walked away wanting to come back again!

This is a proper bakery. Everything I ate there was great, but I think the chocolate cookie was the real winner. There is a little outdoor seating area and several tables inside too. The service was fantastic and the other customers very welcoming.

I tried multiple things and each one of them is so delicious. Cakes are not too sweet unlike other bakeries in US which is really good. Great price and quality. Will definitely recommend it.

Very impressed! Pricing was great. Got a ham & cheese croissant which was delicious. Cafe mocha which was rich/tasty and a chocolate croissant which was good but could’ve used a bit more chocolate. Overall would definitely go again, enjoyed very much.

Customer Service beyond EXCELLENCE!! The best ham and cheese croissant I have ever eaten. Great atmosphere and the prices are extremely reasonable.

Staff were really nice and welcoming. The place is a little small and there’s not many seats inside, but it’s very cozy.

You can enjoy your cup of coffee while working and listening to some awesome tunes (they have good taste in music). 🎶

This place has absolutely delicious cakes! My husband and I always order from here on our birthdays! It's also nice dropping by because they're pastries and drinks are also delicious!! Parking is a little tight but other than that at this place is great!

Gorgeous bakery! Impressive selection. I got a zatar croissant, it was flakey and perfect. The daily quiche was delicious! Highly recommend.

Loved this place and the products. It was my first time and at the start of a road trip. I bought some of almost everything - and ALL OF IT WAS GOOD. Prices are very reasonable, for the taste and quality. I'm stopping by every time I'm in Alexandria.

My birthday surprise today was the delivery of two bags full of delicious pastries that just had to be shared with friends. All arrangements were made over the phone from Massachusetts, and everything was perfect. Great customer service and made-from-scratch pastries that melt in your mouth.

We really like Firehook! Service is fast, cappuccino and chai were both great. We also tried the everything croissant and one of the quiches and enjoyed everything.

I've bought 3 cakes from this local bakery within 2 years and each time they get better and better! The staff are always friendly, the baked goods are always fresh with quite an assortment to choose from, and my oh my, is their strawberry & crème cake delicious! It's my favorite cake ever and one I buy every time it's either my partner's birthday or mine - we love it! I love going to firehook bakery and hope they thrive as a local business so I can keep buying more cakes from them!

Love their baguettes. The kind that want and will eat before you get home. Besides that they have a wonderful bakery: cakes and bread. If you dont want to get a whole cake, you can always get a cake cup. No, I did not misspell. It is cup with a cake in it. Enjoy!

Lovely outdoor patio. Tasty coffee and pastries for breakfast. Reasonable prices without tipflation. Wifi works, contrary to some other reviews (April 2024) There are 4 official parking spots, but Wilkes tends to have space.

Fresh and delicious coffee and pastries and cakes. And everything is local. Firehook is a neighborhood treasure. The ladies and all the staff are friendly and keep everything clean.

What a delightful experience going into Firehook Bakery! The service provider was a sweet person who kept moving the small line along. She was calm and professional with a kind gentle personality. Who could resist getting one of these adoreable gingerbread cookies with a great cup of coffee. Happy day for me! CHRISTMAS EVE IS TONIGHT!

Got the key lime bar and an iced vanilla latte. Both were very good! Parking can be tricky but it's a very spacious place! Lots of different sweets and there is coffee, espresso, and tea options as well.

I've gone a few times now & absolutely love it! Great tasting food & coffee (bonus points because the decaf is really good!) The whole family can get a pastry and a coffee without breaking the bank (which is pretty rare, especially in this area)
