Great location, good hours, and a HUGE selection of tastes, as well as specialties. Large portion, adequate pricing and a clean shop. Can be busy, but they are fast at serving.

By far the best local ice cream around, for price, friendly staff, and for options. They have plenty of variety for just about everyone and have a dairy free soft serve flavor of the week. I've never had a bad experience and I have always been very pleased. The place is pretty busy all season and there is BBQ next door as well. Great place to bring the family for some ice cream.

Last visit of the season. The excellent ice cream shop will be closing next weekend. September 24th is their last day this year. Always great ice cream, friendly service, and a fun time!

If your Gluten Free like me, Big Dipper will serve your ice cream on a Gluten Free cones by request.
They also will give you a complimentary doggie dish of ice cream if you bring your pet. My rescue puppy Lucy and I say.... THANK YOU BIG DIPPER! You're the BEST!!!

We just moved to town this week and checked Big Dipper out on recommendation from a neighbor. Amazing selection, great service and cute atmosphere for kids! They had all our favorite flavors! We will most certainly make this our regular stop for a treat.

Dole Whip!!! Been looking all over for that stuff as it's dairy free! I've stopped here several times, always fast service, large portions and left happy!

Let me just say this, I live 4 hours away and I choose to stay in a hotel close enough to have some of this ice cream. The banana cream pie was perfect! I also had the queen of hearts ice cream which was everuthing to a chocolate lovers dream! Quick and pleasant service with fair pricing.

There were four of us, two adults and two children. The 9 year old got a soft serve black cherry. He said it was the best ever. The 8 year old for a chocolate milk shake. We asked for a small but were told they only came in on size. It was way too much for him, but he enjoyed what he did have of it. My husband got a M&M flurry. He said it was good. It was also reasonably priced. I got the upside down banana split. Haha. Mistake. The thing was huge! It was very good, but way too much for one person, probably too much for two people.
There was a small playground area for littles. There were also a couple of gazebos for people to eat out of the sun.
If you have to go to the bathroom you will have to use the one porta potty that is there. It is handicap accessible.
If in the area and in the mood for ice cream you should stop at the Big Dipper. We sure will.

I just recently moved to owego and our stands are either homemade ice cream or only have 5 flavors so we took a drive. I was not disappointed. The staff is wonderful.. They have a nice sitting area for adults and play are for children. Tons of flavors of ice cream. We will be back, it was well worth the drive.

Best ice cream shop I've ever been to. I live out of state but whenever I come in to visit family, I have to go to the Big Dipper a few times before heading back home. They have very generous portion size and the ice cream is delicious. Many topping to choose from. Highly recommend not to miss the opportunity to stop at the Big Dipper if you're in the area.

Great varieties of hard ice cream and soft serve, big menu of shakes and sundaes and treats. Lots of easy parking, plenty of picnic table, bench and pavilion seating with a small playground right there. Perfect summer ice cream place.

Big Dipper is a family friendly environment with a small playground for the kids. They have a good selection of ice cream as well as BBQ. The prices are reasonable.

Cannoli ice cream with a waffle cone was quite nice

Awesome place with a wide variety of delicious ice creams and desserts. During the pandemic, they are encouraging social distancing and have markers for the window queue. Highly recommend to cool off on a hot summer day, or any other day.
