Original Grain

I am proud to say that Original Grain is my favorite place to eat in Syracuse. I stumbled upon this restaurant while trying to find a place that had açaí bowls, a nice atmosphere, and a small business. Original Grain’s atmosphere feels like you are at home and it brings a warm, cozy feeling to you. What is better than an amazing atmosphere?!.. their food. I would HIGHLY recommend their Smoothie Bowls(specifically the PB+J and the Puffy). I can not WAIT to come back to Syracuse… just so I can come here to eat another Smoothie Bowl! Also just a little tip for the workers making the smoothie bowls… and more ice to the blender.

If you haven’t tried this place, then you must! They have breakfast and lunch options which are fantastic. There’s coffee, smoothies, smoothie bowls, sandwiches, toasts, salads, etc.

A healthy twist with really good flavors. Service is quick. There is dine-in as well as grub hub or Uber eats for delivery. Only flaw is they are closed on Sundays. Street parking, no parking lot.

We got some take out on a Thursday at 1130am. I ordered the go go gyro, it was so so good. My bride ordered the Mediterranean and she loved it.

Service was friendly with a smile. Ordering was simple.

The place looked very clean and decorated nicely.

The parking is on the street and it is metered.

I am looking forward to trying other items on the menu. 10 out of 10.

Great spot to grab a bite of food! Between my party of people, we got two smoothie bowls, one smoothie, and the bacon chicken ranch wrap. All of them tasted delicious and the service was quick. Definitely recommend for a lunch spot downtown!

Could not be happier with this place as a lunch spot! I was able to place an order online for pickup, and it was ready for me as soon as I got there. The restaurant itself is very cool, it has good music playing and everyone seems happy to work there. It just gave the vibe of "come hang out with us". My bowl (kung-pow chicken) was delicious, I got it on a bed of soba noodles. The serving size was plentiful for the price, and everything was fresh and seasoned perfectly. They gave a generous amount of sauce too on the side.

Mimi made us two great bowls - the southwestern and the "Rad Thai", and both were excellent! Service and food were top-notch. I also appreciated the rad decor: skateboards, cassette decks, and excellent background music!

Wish I lived nearby to make this place my regular go to! The flavors and freshness of the kale yeah bowl was perfection. The welcoming and warm service are a rare gem. So glad I found this place!

Just got done with my food and I couldn’t be more happier about it. It’s so good. I read the reviews before going here and thought it’s worth a try and I’m so glad I did. It is a little pricey but not enough to be concerned. I got the egg man and the red Thai. I had leftovers. I probably ordered to much but I really wanted to try so much. The menu has so much to offer. I’m excited to come back and try something different.

I love Original Grain. The dishes are delicious - my favorites are the toasts and the smoothie bowls - and there's a variety of customizable options. The smoothie bowls are refreshing and the toasts are flavorful and filling.

A nice little place. Vibe was cool and I liked the old casette tapes used as hanging accents. We only had the macha jeffe but it was delicious on a cold December day as we walked around downtown to look at holiday lights.

This is my go-to lunch spot when I’m in or passing through Syracuse. I’m bummed the Rochester location closed. Lots of gluten-free, dairy-free and vegetarian options, and easy to customize the menu for dietary restrictions in general.

My go-to is creating my own bowl and for $15 (including a protein) I end up with a huge portion size worth 2-3 meals and quality food. The service is fast, friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect for a quick lunch or casual dinner.
My only complaint is that the bacon isn't crispy when I've ordered the chicken club.

This is the best ahi bowl I have had. I didn’t leave any for leftovers, it was that good! This will be my go to place from now on. Very nice staff, friendly faces, clean atmosphere, you just feel healthy eating this food! Haha. Love it! Thank you!!

Clean and speedy healthy food! Always fresh and staff is so incredibly kind! Definitely a favorite lunch spot!

I am speaking purely from pick up experience, not delivery, although it’s a beautiful, bright, spacious, and clean restaurant with dine-in options so I imagine that would be excellent as well.

Every smoothie, sandwich, and bowl that I have tried from original grain has been absolutely amazing and SO fresh! I am now hooked! The sandwiches and bowls in particular are SO densely packed with high quality fresh ingredients, and SO many of them! Each bite is a burst of flavor in your mouth! They really pack so much into these sandwiches and bowls.

They looked deceptively small to me but the bowls lasted me three meals and the sandwiches two meals (one half kept me full), especially after a free side of their warm amazing variety of soups I got as a free side for getting a smoothie and sandwich combo.

Very highly recommend if you love very healthy and tasty takes on some classic favorites like BLT, kung pao (kung POW!) chicken, Tex-mex, chicken bacon ranch, etc. You will come away feeling so much better without any gut or stomach problems and they taste even more delicious than their unhealthy traditional greasy origins.

I am beyond shocked that they only have one location in Rochester and one in Syracuse. Original Grain should at the very least be a state- wide chain by now. Consider that the speed at which the friendly and helpful employees make the food is faster than most garbage fast food places, the prices are only slightly higher, and you’re giving your body love while satisfying food cravings instead of artificial trans fat filled garbage that just makes you feel yucky.

Please check this place out!!! They are opened from 8 AM to 8 PM M-F and Saturday, with sandwiches and bowls available after 11 and they are sadly closed Sundays (would be a perfect Sunday brunch spot for dining in!)

Food was fresh and vibrant. Loved the atmosphere and general layout, very bright and gives a "clean" but rustic glow. A little pricey but that's what you pay for good feeling food.

One of the only and best options for healthy fast food in Syracuse. Options are reasonably plentiful from salads to grain bowls to seaweed wraps with coffee and smoothies. Little on the pricey side but everything I've had is delicious.
