Rey Azteca | Mexican Restaurant

Who would have thought that a little Mexican joint in a cul-de-sac of other businesses could be so delicious. Well it is. The Rey Azteca Restaurant sitting nestled in a Chanhassen strip mall is an extremely wonderful find. If you like Mexican Food, and I know you do, than head on over to Rey Azteca. Get the #1 enchiladas and taco with a side of beans. Yum!

SO MANY OPTIONS!! It's hard to choose, it all looks great! Loved the half pineapple filled with chicken and beef fajita mix!

This you have to try. Last time I ate here I chose a combo # and it wasn't that good. Today, Carne asada, and queso ferndid. I highly recommend both. You will not regret it.

We decided after 5+ years we would give this place another chance... we were super happy this time around and will be back! The food was delicious!

Authentic Mexican! Good drinks, yummy food, wide variety. We've been coming for the last 2-3 yrs and have always had a good meal.

I love Rey's! The service is middle of the road from what I've experienced, but the food is incredible. They get you set up with chips, salsa, what I can only describe as the best sauce ever when you arrive. The menu is big and I've yet to have a bad thing on there.

The one thing that I didn't hate but didn't love was the fried ice cream. It was ok, but didn't hold a candle to the fried ice cream at Mariachi Loco in River Falls, WI. That said stop here and get some food, it's some of the best!

Don't miss out, da bomb Mexican food, flavorful sauces, fresh, hot and filling. Jalepeno poppers were piping hot and oozing goodness. My goodness authentic beans and rice, nom, nom. Sweet mango margarita on the side, purely satisfying.

Food was very good and was real authentic Mexican food, the service was great as well.

Highly recommend! We loved the variety of items they had to choose from! My boyfriend loved the fried chimichangas, most delicious. I had the fajitas (pictured). Thanks for a most wonderful lunch.

This is my favorite Mexican place and has been for years! The white salsa is so good. Food comes out fast. Staff is attentive.

Great hidden gem!

Everything here is good. The decor is interesting and welcoming while being private. You sit down and immediately get a basket of fresh chips and two salsas! The portions are huge and the prices are reasonable. Very authentic tastes, the kitchen obviously puts in a lot of time to prep their menu. We pop in here whenever possible because there’s just so much to try! We have what we want and still plan what looks good for next time. Worth the drive if outside the area.

Best Mexican food in Chanhassen! The food is always hot and fresh. The chicken fajitas were delicious and large enough to share between two people. Comes with a side of beans and rice, along with lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole.

This has always been one of my favorite places. I always get the enchilada with the red sauce but I love their chips and salsa.

Adorable place inside. We needed a fairly fast meal and this place delivered that with great service. We have a place like this near our home town that we swore has the exact same menu and food just a different name.
Would go back again if we are in the area.

Went here with my parents for a true Mexican dinner! They delivered, if you know good food then you'll know about this pace, if you don't know now you need to get here and check it out! Don't forget to get a margarita!!!

My wife and I were seated and waited 20 minutes before having to ask for service meanwhile 3 other couples who came in after us were served and already had thier food. I was not impressed with that. As soon as my wife talked to Lorenzo he was very quick to make sure that we got our drinks and we were able to order our food. The food was really good and Lorenzo saved the date.

I love this place because it has very good food, an atmosphere that caters to families or any other group. The waitstaff has really improved over the years and has become familiar with each visit. The menu is very easy to navigate. The selection is good, with several choices for even the most picky. I have asked for substitutions and they are always happy to do so. The best is the chips and salsa and white sauce that us served before the meal. They will refill as many times as you like. I am a fan of the sauces and usually end up using them with my entree. I would reccomend this place for birthday parties to take out as I have never been disappointed by the food or the service. I have experienced a wait on Friday or Saturday night so it would be best to plan for this. But really the weights has always been very minimal. There just isn't a traditional bar to sit at while you do wait.

Love this place, great traditional food, it saddens me to see the other post because most of my experiences have been great!
