Staff is exceptional, room spotless, everything we needed for 2 night stay while biking Root River trails. Safe, quiet, accommodating. Can bring food and heat/eat in meeting room or coffee nook near lobby. Excellent location for evening walks, morning coffee on porch. Can't wait to go back for another stay!

Absolutely a wonderful place to stay during our trip to Lanesboro! I was so busy with work and family I mis-booked the wrong day. Allison the manager was absolutely wonderful! She gave me a small room to stay in the next day. You can really tell this company, family business is one step above the corporate locations. The room was spotless. There was a nice place to sit in the lobby and have a cup of coffee. I can't stress enough how grateful I am to have stayed at this beautiful place. Happy Birthday Allison!

We had an excellent three night stay here. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. There are times, as motorcyclists, that you feel judged when coming to stay somewhere, and we didn't feel that at all!

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I actually loved that there wasn't a TV in room. There are too many wonderful things to do in the area! There were actual residential towels in the room which was very nice!

Located right on Main Street, next door to the Brewary, and across the street from eating establishments make the location great!

We look forward to staying again soon!

Great place to stay in Lanesboro. They have everything you need. The staff is wonderful. The place is very clean and well kept. Very well-managed family business ... and the lady at the front desk spoke my language (Español).

We truly enjoyed our stay! The staff was friendly and helpful. Amenities were great! They provided a locked shed for our bicycles and off street parking. The gathering room was a great place for snacks and games with friends. We loved the flexibility the manager gave us, so we could enjoy one last bike ride on the Root River Trail. Cottage House Inn is ideally located .Access to the Root River bike trail is a block away and you can easily walk to restaurants, Sylvan Brewery, theater, shops and Art Gallery. Our room was clean,comfortable and quiet. And there were some lovely antiques in our room. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I also liked that coffee and tea are available all day and can be enjoyed on the front porch. They also have great bike storage. I look forward to staying again. Excellent hospitality from Allison and her staff Tammi. Excellent location near to bike trails. Rooms are clean and comfortable with a great wrap around porch, the perfect place to enjoy an evening cocktail.

My husband and I have been going to Lanesboro, MN for the last 4 years to ride the Root River Trail. We absolutely love this place! Alison Leathers manages the inn and is very wonderful to work with. She responds promptly to all emails.
The rooms are always very, very clean and any requests we have are attended to. We also enjoy sitting on the front porch after a long day's bicycle ride. I would highly recommend these accommodations. We're sure to return!

I visited the Cottage Inn recently to have a socially distanced trip with a friend. We each had our own rooms, but we’re still able to meet outside on the veranda and eat together using patio dining in the town. The rooms were very clean, and the owner Allison was both personable and helpful. It was wonderful to be able to spend some time with a dear friend in a safe environment before winter sets in!

Stayed the night after a bike race and enjoy the town afterwards. It was a beautiful day the day after the race, so I decided to stay an extra night. Nice clean rooms, great location and incredible porch. Alison was very friendly and helpful.

Great place to stay when biking the trails around Lanesboro. The hotel is about a block from the trail. This place has a locked store room where you can put your bike when you aren't riding. There are great restaurants within walking distance, a comfortable porch, and a large party room. The room didn't have a TV which wasn't a problem for me but if you need that kind of noise it would be an issue. The local community theater is directly across the street and I recommend making the time to see a play in this intimate venue. The Cottage House even allowed a late checkout on Sunday which allowed us to get another excellent bike ride in and still cleanup before we left. Kudos!

Highly recommended lodging in Lanesboro MN. Bike friendly, one block from the Root River Trail. Wonderful staff, very accommodating, comfortable rockers on the front porch. We will definitely be repeat customers.

A very comfortable place to stay in the heart of downtown Lanesboro, within easy walking distance to all the shops & restaurants. Locked bike storage and close to the Root River trail.

First of all Lanesboro is a must visit. The Cottage House is on the quiet end of the main street in Old Town. It is clean, quiet and affordable. By the way, if you get the munchies visit the Parkway Market just a few doors down the street. The selection there is amazing.

This is our “Go to” spot for Memorial Day weekend bike 🚲 riding. They have reasonable rates and a large Garage for overnighting your bikes. They don’t have a restaurant but there are plenty of restaurants close by. Lanesboro has a different feel than most of Minnesota because as there are views of River Bluffs close to the town center. There’s a vibrant Theatre 🎭 in town with some restaurants closing at 8pm as their customers depart for the Theatre.

My husband and I stayed there 2 nights and was great! Very comfortable and cozy place. We will certainly stay there again.

What a perfect place to rest, rejuvenate, bike, read, write, and come home renewed! We have gone many times, and we are already planning our next trip.
