Down Wind is awesome! I was in town for the Noquemanon Ski Marathon and Down Wind was incredibly helpful with not only finding me the perfect wax, but also connecting me with the wax tech to assist me with putting it on. Truly a "service first" sort of business.

Down Wind Sports was amazingly helpful and everyone we worked with there was super cool and knowledgeable! We went on a guided ice climbing trip and the guides and everyone at the store were so wonderful and really made it a great experience!

Visited Marquette last weekend to join my friends riding. Had bike problem (rear brake lever started leaking fluid). Called Down Wind Sports and see if they are able fit me in for a brake bleed. I spoke with Parker and he was able to put me in even though they are fully book. Problem was more difficult than I thought. Parker even called SRAM for extra support and see if they can help him with the brake issue. For the sake of time we just decided to install a new brake lever since I only have a day to ride. My brake lever still new and probably got damage from transporting the bike. In short, Down Wind Sports was able to made me ride. Big hands of applause to Parker for going the extra miles. He was also able to help another friend who had loose crank arm. Highly recommended shop! Thank you!

Had my crank on my bike tightened today, free of charge. Everyone was very kind and polite. I cant remember his name but he held the door for me. Overall, I'll definitely be coming back to check out their selection of other outdoor gear!

This is the best Outdoor Shop in Town for sure! Once I got in the shop, a couple of employees approached me to see if I needed help, but it was one employee that specially helped me. She is very nice, invested in her job, and knows what she's talking about. If you go there, ask for Miss Michaela, she is fantastic and will help you throughout the entire process. Love the environment!

It's so great to have this locally owned and operated sports shop in our midst. The owners are great folks and their employees are always helpful and enthusiastic. Amazon may be OK for a mop, but there are things you just need to touch and feel and discuss with folks who know something about them before buying. I'm pretty sure that Jeff Bezos doesn't care a bit about you anyway. I know that the Downwind team actually does. Buy as much as you can from Downwind - everyone wins. Owners, Staff, Local community, and - YOU.

So I wasn’t sure of what was available for my needs. The person that helped me decide was very accommodating. I wasn’t sure if I could use the rack I needed so he went so far as installing the rack then taking a bike off of the show room floor to see if I could mount the bike on the rack on my car. He showed me the best way to get that done. I bought them and I m so happy with the purchase that I’m buying kayak racks tomorrow.
They are very nice people.

I was traveling through Marquette and needed a new sleeping bag. I first went to a competitor who only had one sleeping bag in stock of the wrong size style. I stopped in here and they had a good selection and a great price on mountain hardware bag. They guy at the checkout was also very well informed about the northern lights viewing potential for the next several days. If I'm ever in town again and need some gear, I'm heading here first!!!

Came up to Marquette for the Polar Roll and blew out my rear tire. The service guys not only had fat tires in stock!? But they were also able to get it installed same day for me so that I could still race on Sunday. Amazing! They were great from the moment I walked in to when I left with my bike. They helped contact the frame manufacturer and get me my new warranty frame even though I didn't even buy the bike there. I'll definitely be making them my main bike shop.

I’ve been looking for Patagonia products all over the place up here and was able to find this place had exactly what I was looking for. Had no idea Downwind carried Patagonia and they came in clutch! Ended up purchasing a new sweatshirt and beanie. Staff was super friendly and helpful everything!. Hard to believe this store is within walking distance from my apartment and I’ve never been here until now. Great place to shop and I highly recommend shopping here!

The staff were so helpful and friendly. We were just in town for a week and they really helped us with recommendations for good hikes nearby. Also, if you're a North Country Trail hiker, definitely stop in. They were very hiker-friendly and even held a box for us to pick up on our way. Awesome trail town gear shop!

Outstanding Guides for Family Rock Climbing Experience
If you have a chance to go with Bill and Bryan for a rock climbing outing, jump on it. They were able to accommodate our family's wide range of abilities and their ability to teach us as we tried new routes was spot-on helpful. We all had a lot of fun! It was well worth the expense.

Very friendly staff. Customer service is some of the best that I've ever experienced in my life. Solve my problems quickly and efficiently. Brought the bike in for service but they did even more than what I asked them to do. Excellent experience overall.
