Shaw's Service Station

We were visiting from out of town and our truck check engine light began blinking and engine started ticking. On a Saturday, basically the only person open, we stopped and hoped he could take a look at it and he did. Did a thorough diagnostic test to see what could be causing our issues. Explained what he thought was happening and that we could probably limp it home, as many parts stores aren't open on Saturdays. Asked what we owed him and he smiled and said, "Good travel." Will never forget this man and the relief he brought for us being so far away from home.

Best service for the price. I drive a 2005 Ford Escape that is barely hanging on, but every time I’ve brought it to Shaw’s it leaves the garage sounding better and better. They have found and fixed things that other mechanics in town could not do. I highly recommend this place!

5+stars. On vacation headed to Houghton to have Thanksgiving with the inlaws and had car trouble. Will fit me in to the garage schedule , repaired the car and had us on the way very quickly. at a very reasonable cost. A GREAT PLACE TO DO BUSINESS.

With only one mechanic on duty, they repaired my exhaust problem very quickly and at a fair cost. A small business run well.

Quick service. Good work. He even fixed my windshield wiper for free without it being requested!

Friendly but pricie

Charged for 1.5 hours of labor to replace top bypass hose on Dodge camper van. Engine cover had already been removed for easy access to remove the 2 hose clamps. Should have taken no more than 30 minutes
tops to replace the hose and put the engine cover back on.
They also claimed to have added 4 quarts of transmission fluid even though they never got permission for this added service. Transmission does not leak and had been checked 2 weeks prior. They also broke a wire for a 12V adapter that plugged into the cigarette lighter and converted the one 12V outlet into three. Finally they did not install the 2 bolts that hold the engine dog house cover down in front but merely used the 2 latches in back to hold it down. I contacted the owner who simple had the mechanic call back and claim he had done nothing wrong . Fool me once shame on you but don't expect to ever see me or any of my friends and family doing business with you again. If you like being overcharged Shaws Phillips 66 is the place to go!
