Hyde's Hen House & Chicks Sandwich Shop

I’m from out of town just visiting here for work. Wanted something quick and close by so decided to stop here. The owner was super sweet and friendly. A little forgetful but everybody gets that way I guess. I got the chicken club and added avocado. I got a few cookies: peanut butter and an oatmeal as well as a chocolate muffin cake. Peanut butter cookie was actually a little too sweet imo, which is saying something because I love really sweet stuff. The amount of sweetness just didn’t sit well with the peanut butter flavor for me. Also I’m not really a cookie person so probably just wasn’t for me. The chocolate muffin was sooo soft and moist. I accidentally dropped my container so my muffin lost some of the topping lol but it was still Delicious. I would definitely come back to this place.

Invited by a friend for lunch. As a vegetarian I never would expect a 'meat' based restaurant to accommodate my request for a veggie sandwich, but they did and were very kind about it. The homemade bread is delicious, and the quaint cozy atmosphere made for a comfortable visit. Will definitely go there again.

Just came from dining in for the first time ever. Super delicious! Their homemade bread is amazing and makes for the best sandwich. I ordered the gene o and I added bacon, hands down such a hearty meal the caramelized onions were cooked to perfection. and the two ladies who work there I didn't get a name but they were so sweet and helpful and putting out great food. I will definitely be returning!❤

Chicken salad and side spinach salad is my favorite. They even deliver. The desserts are all so good and home-made. The cupcakes are my favorite. The icing reminds me of Nothing bundt cakes. They use home made bread for the sandwiches. I went for lunch and they were pulling the loaves out of the oven. Smelt like heaven.

Extremely delicious, everything is fresh and homemade. Love it! I had the chicken salad sandwich and my husband had the chicken blt sandwich and they were super good.

From the welcoming Hello upon entrance to the fun decor fabulous food this sandwich and Shop is a real FIND!! Worth the trip from San Antonio. Have to say the menu items are well thought out, not too overstated and full of Flavor.
Perfect space for small gatherings or a getaway from everyday lunch!

Stopped in The HenHouse this week. Great atmosphere and Great Products. I love that they recently opened up as a Cafe as well....
the smell is amazingly wonderful while shopping! The handmade soaps and handmade car scents were my Go-to this week!
The soaps have such amazing ingredients in them and are wonderful for the skin as well as the immune system!

This shop has a very warm welcoming feeling and the hospitality is a plus. I like that they have a variety every time I visit a few times a year when I drive through La Vernia. I look forward to another visit soon!

Best little hidden gem in LaVernia. Staff very friendly and cheery. Shopping for that special something they have it. Sandwich shop is extraordinary. Food is homemade and awesome.

Had the best home-made bread BLT and cheddar cheese broccoli soup..
To top it off, a free tasty piece of French Toast. 😋
