Blue Door Inn Alma

Super cool place for a group of people. The pictures don't do it justice. We had a golf group of friends. All in our 50s. Walk the town for dinner. Came back to the blue door and had an awesome fire in the pit. Everything was supplied. Fully stock. Great large kitchen.

Had a fabulous experience at the blue door inn. Very quaint little spot. Arrived in town after being on the bikes all day and was quickly greeted by Kathy who showed us around, answered all our questions and gave us the history on our rooms and the building. Everything was clean and comfy. Perfect night to sit in the lovely garden and have a glass of wine. The next morning breakfast was amazing - would highly recommend and will definitely stay again if ever in the area.

I would like to say that I am very much looking forward to when I can stay at the Blue Door Inn again. My boyfriend and I have stayed twice and absolutely adore this quaint piece of history. The owner is a delight, always has a delicious breakfast prepared, and wonderful stories of Alma and the surrounding areas. Room 4 is my favorite thus far. The Cottage was a little large for us but we were happy to take it as room 4 was occupied. Sitting on the front porch at night was so quiet and comforting. The rooms are always decorated so nice, and are very clean. Again, looking forward to another stay here. :)

My husband and I just stayed there for the weekend of our anniversary. We absolutely loved it. We only met the innkeeper once but she was very kind and lovely to meet. The inn had everything we could want or need. It was beautiful and made us feel right at home. I'm someone who doesn't like to sleep away from home and I felt so comfortable. I can't wait to go back and I'm so grateful that we found this beautiful inn.

A place that was comfortable after a long days work. Kathy was ever so kind and started the bonfire on the garden terrace while we settled in and got ready for a perfect night to relax outside. She is a gracious hostess. A little morning coffee, fruit and muffin was a great way to start the day. The beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. I will return. Vicki

The Blue Door Inn was just what I was looking for on a recent trip through southeastern Minnesota. I got a space at least twice (if not thrice) as large as a standard hotel room - queen sized bed, couch/sitting area, bathroom w/shower and access to a balcony overlooking the Mississippi River. Alma's small town charm was a nice touch, too. The winter rate is a steal, but I would gladly pay full price to stay again. Clean, comfortable, and the hostess was friendly. Would stay again!

Perfect, quaint town and the Blue Door was lovely. Comfy bed and wonderful home cooked breakfasts by the charming owner.
Limited places to eat but the Alma Inn was great value and just a couple of minutes walk.

Unbelievable! Everything is perfect at this place! The rooms are so elegant and simple and old world charm. The owner is so welcoming and walking distance to everything! Best in town!

Definitely an older, historic building but we enjoyed our stay and loved our rustic room.
