Orienta Falls is located in the beautiful region of Northern Wisconsin, and stands at the headwaters of the Iron River from Lake Superior. The falls have a rich history, dating back to the early 1800s when European settlers began exploring the area. According to the DNR, the dam was destroyed in a 1989 flood and is now “decommissioned” or abandoned. A lamprey barrier was installed at that time blocking upstream migration for all species. Area is frequently visited by anglers.

Cool falls, steep trail down there, but short trail. Fun to walk around the rocks at the bottom.

Pretty. Unique rocks. I would like the dam removed to restore the river to it's natural state.

The park was beautiful, but I don’t think we went at a good time it was after a huge rainstorm and everything was muddy and it easy to hike any trails.
I’m hoping my husband and I can make our way up north again just to redo our experience!
