Crossroads Motel & Cabins

I found this hidden Gem nestled right off the highway in between Montello and Oxford. It's very private off the beaten path. Rooms are vintage styles with outdoor flare. Rick, the owner, is a kind soul who will make you feel welcomed. A wonderful experience all a round!

My mom (who has health issues that make long car trips difficult) and I were driving from Ohio to upper Wisconsin, and we reached a point about two hours from our destination where Mom had to stop for the night. The location of Crossroads was incredibly ideal, being just off the highway we were traveling up, and the prices were good. The landlord was incredibly kind; he lives away from the motel but drove over at 11:30 at night to open a room for us, and his service and friendliness were very welcome at such a late hour. We stayed in one of the motel rooms that are all in one long building (I believe there are also some cabins onsite), and all of the appliances (TV, mini fridge, etc.) and bed looked brand new. The beds (queens in Room 3) were SO COMFORTABLE, it was the main thing my mom and I commented on the whole time. My mom also took a shower in the morning and said it was quite nice. We slept great! (Minor note: We could see a bit of light through the seal around the door, but the heater worked great and we were still quite comfortable.)

In the morning, we admired the lovely woods surrounding the lot that made it feel pleasantly outdoorsy even being just off the highway, and the doors were all painted different colors, which I thought was a nice touch. The landlord told me he has been fixing the place up since he bought it a year or two ago, and from the good work we could already see, I can tell it will only get even nicer as he continues. Thank you for a lovely and welcoming stay; we would certainly stop here again if given the opportunity!

We were in room 1, advertised as a King Suite. We loved this place. It's super clean, attractive, and very comfortable. The owner even put ice in the freezer for us. There were two very comfortable easy chairs in the room. (Maybe why it was called a suite. )The Crossroads Chateau is a very "up north" style pub and grill just down the street. The motel is located right off of Hwy 39, so very accessible. There were chairs outside of our room. And not the cheap plastic kind, the real deal. There were also smoking areas with nice chairs away from the rooms.
It has two attractive cabins next door. There may be more but we didn't go back there.
Our only complaint is that the easy chairs were too low for us and the bed was too high. We are 69 and 71 and sort of infirm. So that was a challenge for us. The chair situation was solved by putting 2 pillows on the chair. I just lucked out with the bed. I made it on the second try. For reference, my husband is 6'1" and he could not sit on the bed.
We really hope there are other rooms without this problem because we were very impressed with this place. It's located on a woody lot, too. Very cool!

We were exhausted having drove from middle Tennessee all day and were ready for a bed! Ricky had a bed and a cabin left so I chose the bed. Room was super nice 😊, clean, dog friendly (with a fee), the bed felt wonderful (firm mattress), hot shower, all of the amenities that you needed especially for a short stay, Non-smoking rooms and Ricky and Shirley were fabulous! They have an RV and Camper spot, dog area, volleyball court, lounge area and plenty of seating outside if you need to sit outside. It’s just off the interstate and hwy so it’s very convenient, and a fabulous rating which is better than most of the hotels you find to stay. We will have to come back sometime!!!

I truly believe that this is the best motel in the world. We arrived at 5 in the morning desperate for shelter in the heavy snowfall. We called the owner and he arrived within 15 minutes of us calling, despite the worsening weather and road conditions. The rooms were excellent and I had the best sleep of my life on the comfortable beds. I cannot thank the owner enough.

Ricky and Shirley were so gracious and accommodating. I had a very peaceful stay. Enjoyed the campfire with my friends that I haven’t seen in many years.
My room was clean and my bed was comfortable.

The new owner was amazing and took the time out of his day to show me the cabins that are on the property. The cabins are super cute. Unfortunately they currently are not heated, but he has plans to outfit them with heating and cooling. We are looking forward to coming back next year around this time of year and hopefully staying in one.

We love this motel! Have stayed there many times in both rooms & cabins. Very clean & friendly. You can bring your dog. Lots of room for kids & dogs to run. At night you can have a fire in fireplace. Great highway access & lots of restaurants not far away.

After a long day on the road I was pleasantly surprised to find this place, clean quiet and very comfortable! I will definitely be back!

I went to visit a friend that was staying in one of the cabins. The cabin was beautiful and the grounds are beautiful! There are 14 motel rooms and 2 cabins for you to stay in. The cabin was very clean and everything was sanitized. The remote control was in a plastic baggy to ensure no germs were transferred between guests or the owner. They used the firepit to roast s'mores and enjoy a night around the fire. I would high recommend anyone to stay there.

Connie was gracious. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the nostalgia! Even took great care of our fur baby.... loved our stay.... thank you!

The new owner was great . Made sure we were comfortable. Making renovations to the place and the pricing is reasonable .

I can't say enough nice things about the Crossroads Motel and Cabins. Connie goes beyond the extra mile to assure that her guests are happy and satisfied. We stayed in a cabin and it was an excellent experience. Connie deserves 6 stars! I would go out of my way to stay here again!!!

This is an old 60's style motel, but it has been kept up and maintained beautifully. Everything was clean and neat. The price may be a little high, but I would rather spend a few extra dollars and support an independently owned motel rather than a big national chain. We had a very friendly lady halp us check in and check out. Very nice having an on site owner/manager. I recommend staying here if you are in the area.

I have stayed at this hotel three times, and it's convenient, always clean, and Connie is one of the friendliest innkeepers you'll ever meet! There's good food just up the street, and the motel is just off the expressway. I'll stay there again the next time I'm in Central Wisconsin.

Very clean place, owner was very nice and helpful. It's conveniently located not far from the freeway. The location makes it easy to get to many places.

We flew into Madison and it took just under an hour to reach the motel. It is very convenient to Oxford, just off of 39 (not too far from the Dells, but out of the commercial area for sure! We stayed in the King Room. It was very clean. I understand it is under new management. I dislike staying hotels, and this has character. The king room has a fridge and microwave, also a seating area. The heat was much appreciated! There was a frost in the morning and it was so beautiful and peaceful. The bird feeders were very active. We saw a deer on the grounds as we pulled away to breakfast. I'd be interested in going back in the summer and I'd love to get a peek inside the two log cabins. Overall, it was conveniently located, quiet, clean and reasonably priced.

I stayed here for work. Quiet and peaceful. The owner is very nice. The place has a feeling of being "up north". Will definitely be returning.

Wonderful friendly, family owned and operated motel and cabins. Large, comfy rooms each with flat screen TV, coffee pot, microwave, mini-fridge, and free Wi-Fi. Quiet country setting, located right off I-39 (exit 106).

This place is an awesome family run hotel with a classic feel. The owners are so sweet and the motel is clean and accommodating. By far the best motel I've stayed at!
