After numerous calls to Forest River and another big company, my wife and I were beginning to think we would not get to tour an RV factory. However- when we called DUTCHMAN MANUFACTURING, I was able to talk to a gal on the phone who was happy to make us an appointment for the next morning. Steve Sobowiak is a regional sales manager who gave us quite an education. He showed us four different towable trailers in various stages of construction. He explained how the construction started with the frame, then wiring, then the waterproof floor, followed by flooring and bath installation. He showed us the "entry level" RV, and a number of differences between and the next product lines. We both came away with a far healthier appreciation for the hard work needed to make RVs. Their plant also has a PDI PKANT, where they all get a PRE DELIVERY INSPECTION before the dealer ever sees the units. I was particularly impressed with the KODIAK RVs. If I were in the market to buy another, that's what I'd be purchasing. We. Spent close to an hour nosing around and admiring the work being done in front of our eyes. We were very impressed with the serious, workmanlike nature of the men AND women on the job. After seeing them in action, I can suggest a KODIAK RV with no hesitation,if it's a towable you're after. We have an older class C that we love, so we are not buying just now. Our daughter is a travel nurse, and might well end up with one... Definitely a two thumbs up.

Buying a Dutchman Kodiak this month! I have family that have the Kodiak 291RESL and they have nothing but great things to say. We are so excited to do some traveling, and I have to say I think some of these older reviews are not currently accurate. My husband and I have been looking for 2 years, and your quality and towability is the best we have seen. We’ve looked at everything too from Rockwood, Keystone, Grand Design, Forest River, Gulf Stream, Hemisphere, and many others. We’ll be telling all of our friends and family here in Vermont that we wouldn’t recommend anything other than a Kodiak or Dutchman!

We have switched our rental fleet over to the Aspen Trail line and we are very happy with the quality and performance we have gotten over the last year. Our units are on the road every weekend with very little issues. Good job guys thanks for putting out a quality unit at a great price!

Awesome very respectful people...

I see a lot of bad reviews on here but that is understandable because every camper is pretty much hand made and sometimes one will turn out bad. My camper had the roof starting to come up at the front and I had to take it to Camping World as it is a Camping World exclusive camper. Unfortunately Camping World Indianapolis service department has been absolutely terrible by trying to charge me for something Dutchman as deemed a manufacture defect. The 3 times I have called Dutchman to discover my service person at Camping World Indianapolis has been telling me mis information, all 3 Dutchman representative have been awesome on the phone. I will be calling them again this morning as Camping World is still playing games because I would not pay them to fix my manufacture defect. Dutchman said they would pay them for the defect fixes. I get zero anxiety calling Dutchman knowing I will not get the run around and I appreciate that.

The front cap on our 2014 Kodiak became delaminated. Luckily, we caught in time, and it was covered under warranty. At the same time, one of the cargo doors became warped, but they would not fix it. The dealer said it was normal. It also has slide issues, but we have been lucky enough to get it back in most of the time. Even thought the warranty covered our repair, the build quality is not great.

We love our fifth wheel, especially after all the renovations we've done to it. Unfortunately, the RV industry has taken a pretty lame approach to the whole thing. It's like playing house for adults. Dutchmen (and pretty much all of Thor Industries) is right at the front of the pack in that regard. You'd wish they would take more pride in things 'Made in America', but I hate to say that I think 'Made in China' couldn't represent any lower quality standards. I would like to see how far a home builder would make it using the quality standards that these guys do. For instance, my wardrobe is almost 2 inches out of square side to side AND top to bottom. That's embarrassing. Everything will start to leak if it's not re-caulked at least once a year. That's not even third-world grade construction. Our 'arctic package' insulation on the underbelly was a thin piece of plywood and some silver bubble wrap. Really guys? Even the in-floor ducting that's supposed to keep the tanks and lines from freezing covers about 6ft of the 24ft of underbelly (which, unfortunately, does very little to keep the grey tank from freezing, as it is at the other end of the trailer). Like I said, we love our fifth wheel, but trying to fix and reverse all of the beyond-shoddy engineering AND construction has been quite the undertaking. For how much these things cost and for the extremely limited amount of time through the year that these are built to be used, you could stay in some pretty nice hotels for quite a long time.
