Knotty Pine Motel

For the last few years my family and I have stayed at the Knotty Pine throughout the winters on our way to Okemo to ski and we love staying here! The accommodations are clean and comfortable and the staff is always helpful and kind. Bennington has great restaurants and bars to offer, and it's an easy one hour drive to the mountain in the morning. Highly recommend a stay at the Knotty Pine!

Flooding in Vermont blocked my route home yesterday, and while on the way back from a long trip I reserved here. Reviews were good, and I was excited about the fact that it is right next to a sushi restaurant. Came in at a strange time, left at a strange time, but it didn't matter because these people have the logistics down. I was in the Kitchenette w/King Bed Deluxe. Excellent room. Super clean, really well renovated. Comfortable. Everything worked perfectly. And the sushi next door was fantastic. Due to my schedule I never got to meet the people running it, but will surely go back and stay there again. Well done.

Very clean room, bed was clean and comfortable, and the staff was helpful and accommodating. I would definitely stay again if needed.

Stayed for two nights in January while helping a family member move into their new house in the area. Everything was perfect! The room was nice and warm when we arrived. Cozy and very clean, comfortable bed. Mini-fridge and microwave super convenient. The shower water was good and hot! Everything you could want for a VT winter stay. It was remarkably quiet given the location on a main drag. Check-in and checkout was super easy. In short, an excellent value for the money!

This was one of the best motels I or my husband have ever stayed in. The pool is very new, clean and beautiful. Our room was extremely clean with a nice updated bathroom. The breakfast was simple and exactly what we needed to start our day. All the employees were friendly and happy to say hello to my family. We met the owner by the pool and she was wonderful. She takes pride in her business and really seemed to love her small family owned motel. We will go back when in the area and will highly recommend it to everyone we know needing a place to stay in the Bennington area.

This place was perfect! I needed a last minute booking for one night for a short ski weekend and was very happy with my stay. I called to ask if I could change my check in time from 4pm to 7pm on Friday night, and the woman (who I assumed was the owner) was super accommodating and told me it was no problem at all.

When I arrived it was a super easy check in process and the owner was very nice! The room was clean with fresh towels and sheets, strong wifi, and I could not have asked for a better one night stay! If I am planning a ski trip in the future that is close to this area, I would happily choose this place again! :)

We were so glad that The Knotty Pine was still open in Bennington, VT when we stayed there on September 4, 2023.
We stayed there years ago, and it was so nice that it was still the same friendly family that owned the place.

While planning out my trip a couple weeks ago, I saw the excellent reviews and booked one night. This place is so cute, great price, no frills but surprising amenities, clean, comfortable beds, and the owners are so nice! I'm late in writing my review but I was there a couple weeks ago and wished that I could have stayed more than one night. It was a very hot day when I arrived and I saw as I put my things in the room I went to the pool. Such a nice area, sparkling clean and refreshing! The same family has owned the Knotty Pine for over 50 years! It could use a little updating but still 5 stars, I hope to go back that way again, Bennington has a really cute downtown area too!!

We were there over the Thanksgiving holiday. Nice, clean, quiet. The room was nice, king size bed was comfy. Great area, we usually stay on Main St., but decided to venture out. We would stay here again! Close to everything.

We loved this charming, clean and historic little motor lodge. The price was reasonable. Ice was available in small, convenient bags. The person who checked us in was very pleasant. We were so lucky they had a cancellation and we were able to get a room here. Would definitely seek out this motel if ever in the area.

This was our first time at the Knotty Pine. All staff were courteous and friendly. As was Smoky the cat.
Room was nice and clean.
Location worked out nice for us. We able to bike everywhere.
Pool was a nice treat at the end of hot day.
We'll be back.

We found this motel last minute on our drive into Bennington. It didn't look busy and looked clean and cozy from the outside. All the staff working there were very friendly. Our room was clean and just what we needed. The pool was awesome too! The motel is on a busy road so there is a lot of noise from that. There are plenty of restaurants and attractions near by! We will definitely be back!

Wonderful host and staff. Took special care to make sure we had everything we needed. When we had a little glitch with our TV remote the staff was right there in minutes to fix it. The rooms are very comfortable and nicely done. You can tell that the owners really care and took a lot of time to make the rooms as homelike as possible. Very retro chic and nicely done.

Rooms are super clean, affordable, and spacious! Beds are very comfortable. If you get the studio, there is everything you need to make tea or coffee, and to cook. Air conditioning works well. Some breakfast foods are available 8-10 in the front office - cereal, muffins, apples, coffee, etc. Highly recommend! Especially in the summer when the pool is open. Also the staff are very friendly, and allowed my friends and I to stay at the pool a bit later given it was after my wedding.

Everything was great at this motel.. pet welcoming at it's best, amazing staff that is friendly and makes customers feel welcome. To the point of being helpful, I had left a garment behind by accident, it was returned to me without a hassle. I personally think this is the correct hospitable culture travelers' look for when choosing a place to stay when away from home. Highly recommend the Knotty Pine Motel if your travels take you to beautiful Vermont.

This was the most perfect little place to stay at while we were out of state with our kiddos. Customer service will always be so important to us and they went above and beyond what I've ever experienced. Barbara was so sweet and genuinely cared about us and our stay. Plus they had a pool and even though it was a bit chilly, the kids didn't care in the least. The rooms were clean and the town is so welcoming. I would absolutely come back here everytime to stay next time we're in Bennington.

We spent a week at the Knotty Pine Motel in November 2014. We had the larger suite and it was perfect, exactly what we needed. The rooms were clean and we had plenty of room. Loved the kitchen area, plenty of space to spread out. The fireplace in the den/sitting area was a great addition. The cleaning staff was friendly and they did a great job. Really loved the layout of the suite. The rate was very reasonable. Awesome motel and family owned. As a small business owner myself, I always try to support small, family owned businesses, this is a great one. Will be back next year for sure, maybe sooner.

As others have said, there is a true retro vibe here but also the typical hotel mod cons and the bathroom in our room was updated with tile shower, great water pressure and hot water. Motel was very quiet, clean, lobby also updated and bright when I went in to return room key…remember those? A good, affordable stay. We’ll be back.

Just stayed this weekend at the Knotty Pine that I know has been around for quite a while. Had a great experience there! Room was immaculate, comfortable beds, super quiet and very easy check in. Looking forward to coming back next year. Thanks again!

We were in a pinch to find a place to stay when my parents were in town. This place was easy to book with, rooms were extremely clean, and plenty of amenities. Check in was easy as the team works remote, our key was ready to go when we arrived contact free. We will most definitely be renting from them in the future.
