McCoy Accounting Advisors

This is our second year using McCoy Accounting and we are beyond pleased with their service. After having our former tax preparer incorrectly file our returns (twice), Amy stepped up and supported us through the back-and-forth communication with the IRS and filed an amended return in the midst of tax season. Amy is fantastic to work with and we greatly appreciate having such a reputable service we know we can depend on.

My husband and I have been "official" clients of Bob McCoy ever since he first prepared our 2016 personal income taxes. Prior to that, in the late 1980s or early 1990s, Bob helped me with questions I had while I was preparing our personal tax returns for multiple states in which my husband was working at the time. McCoy Accounting is professional, yet personable, as they help you with your accounting needs. Bob and his staff have a solid knowledge base to take care of all their clients. There is the added bonus of their willingness to answer your basic questions and guide you, if needed, outside of a formal appointment! Why go to a pop-up brand name tax preparer to get your taxes prepared in a tiny cubicle by a random employee, when you can go to a local firm where the owner is proud to have his name, "McCoy" on the sign out front and treat you as a valuable client? Bob was wonderful as I was his client for several years. HOWEVER, Amy McCoy is the absolute worst business manager /owner to exist. This practice used to be great. She may be good at preparing taxes, but she treats her customers like they are worthless. The first time I tried to speak to her, she hung up on me. I called right back - she screamed and told me to go to hell while all I wanted to do was ask questions about my return. I was not upset when i initially called, but she came in hot, interrupted and yelled. I was shocked. She has personal things going on with her, but it is not an excuse to talk to someone like that from the start. Honestly, I would have understood her reaction if I spoke to her inappropriately, but that was not the case. Do not bother going to them to file taxes because they are no longer doing that for the community apparently be cause “they are moving in a direction that will be more profitable”. People, your tax filings mean nothing to them. She is going to run Bob’s business into the ground.
