Such a cute location! So much packed into a small area. Had ice cream and shopped one of the boutiques. Very friendly service at both places. Would love to return for drinks and a meal on our next visit to KC.

Every month I try to make it out to some unique spots in Kansas City, and Iron District made the list. This is such a nice addition to north KC. The vibes were on point - lots of comfortable seating and umbrellas to help shade in the sun. It looks like it was also dog friendly. There are containers that host small businesses from jewelry, to clothes, cocktails and dinner. There's also a bathroom in the back so you can stay and enjoy yourself.

We happened to come on a trivia night which was a pleasant surprise. It seems like the owners of iron district try very hard to have fun events while providing an outdoor space to hangout.

And the best part is hands down the cocktails and food and pleasant people manning their businesses. I tried a couple of cocktails from the tiki place - a bit pricey but they don't shy away from creativity and alcohol content. The star of the show for me was absolutely Loas House. I tried their burrito and my God, it was top notch. It's made with chicken thighs that are so tender and marinated I thought I was eating pork. Tons of sauce and fries to round out the experience. Totally blew my expectations and I had enough to eat on for two more meals.

PROs: Impressive! Appreciate the establishments/containers are in a shared common space rather than separate. A variety of food/menu to choose from. Food quality and service is great too. Outdoor and shaded seatings.
CONs: Limited parking next to the containers. Off-street parking.

It's very unassuming at first glance, but once you enter, you're transported to a funky little oasis deep in the business district of Northtown. There's quite a few restaurants and boutiques tucked away in every nook and cranny. They even have a tiki bar! I tried Iron Grill and had one of the best burgers of my life. With plenty of covered seating and outdoor games to play, this place is easily family-friendly. If it's a warm day, look for seating up the wooden stairs. There's a breeze plus offers a great vantage point to check out all the action.

Really enjoyed this place. Drove by on a family day to the museum and ended up eating here. Atmosphere is great and food is delicious. Many options such as burgers, tacos, seafood, and more. Great spot for family lunch or even a date night.

The incredibly delicious Mediterranean place struggles a little bit to communicate and their system that texts you when your order is ready runs about 8 minutes fast. But the food was awesome, the shops were so cute and well priced, and the atmosphere was amazing

If youre planning a trip, don't let heat, rain, or any weather keep you away. They do a great job with this space.

The diversity of options is insane, and all the menus I read sounded really good and well priced for what it is.

This place is amazing! Its a little pricey (about 10+ a drink) but the atmosphere is amazing, and we went when it was 97°f and they do such a great job keeping the space cool! We weren't uncomfortable once!

What a great place! We stopped by on a chilly Thursday afternoon and ended up having the whole place to ourselves! We got to chat with most of the shop owners and tried a few of their tasty dishes! We'll be going back to try the rest! I'm guessing that the area gets pretty full on a nice summer night. Parking might get interesting, but we were able to park by the entrance. There are many seating options, but we took advantage of the heated upper deck. Overall, it was nicer than I expected, I was excited to find out they have bathrooms, I assumed there would be porta-pots.

Cute little spot for a date night or friends hang out. Food was delicious, I specifically ate at the Mediterranean spot called Sido’s and it was unbelievably delicious. We had leftovers and we were able to eat them the next day and they were still delicious.

Perfect place to go on a nice day. Very unique environment.
There's an abundance of shops in now that offer a variety of food, drinks, and wears.
We tried out Meltbox and The Sourdough Spot.
The meltbox was a little expensive, but the ice cream was amazing.
The sourdough spot was a really unique shop, and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful.
Overall, this is a perfect summer spot to try out!
Warning: The days/hours of opening are typically Thursday-Saturday.

I hadn't heard of this place until recently, but I met up with some family there, it was a lot of fun! Great variety of food and some nice shops! It might be best to go in the evening when it's hot out, but overall a great place to go hang out and support some local businesses, while having a good time!

Vegan Crave located in the heart of Iron District. A GREAT SPOT to hang out with friends and/or family. I am Vegan soooo...I tried Vegan Crave. I had the Perfect Oyster Mr. Po'Boy and Abundant Truffle Fries along with the REFRESHING Sorrel. What a combo the food was delicious every bite was heavenly. TEESHIA was very accommodating. Be patient as she is the owner and the food is cooked to order by her. The process is you scan the bar code. Order your food and Walaah. Pure goodness with a beautiful smile. Be sure visit. *****

Keep in mind your budget. But if you can afford it, yes please go. Trivia night was so much fun! My favorite is Meltbox Ice Cream!!! And ordered the Indian fusion before it got packed.

Went on a Friday night with friends and had a dang blast. Had drinks from the tiki type bar and a great spicy chicken sandwich from the burger place.

Fun atmosphere with some music. Great after work meet up.

Recommend coming and checking it out.

Hot but fun! Great music, strong libations, delicious vegan food that doesn’t taste like what u think vegan would taste like, trendy shopping with great deals, & an amazing brownie sundae!!

There is an upper area of seating for shade. Bring ur dogs if u want. Cool imagery on the outside of the containers for unique photos!

Great concept! Been meaning to check it out forever and it did not disappoint. Several restaurant options to choose from. I wish there was a little more seating, they have the crowd for it when weather suits. I do plan to visit several more times so I can try each restaurant. There's a small parking lot nearby and plenty of street parking around. There's accessible access to the space in general but some windows are a little high. Not sure about the restroom situation.

What a fun place!! High-quality food, a wide-selection, lots of little areas to sit and enjoy company! The live DJ was such a cool touch, too! We’re from out of state, and we wish we could come back again and again!

The Iron District was fantastic! There are plenty of food and drink options. We were there early on a Saturday and had almost no wait for our food and had plenty of seating to choose from! We enjoyed our lunch at the Iron District and will definitely return!

Located off 16th and Iron in NKC, colorful collection of freighter crates that have been turned into various shops and restaurants in an intimate and cozy enclosure.
Dog and family friendly.
Open container allowed if purchased inside and disposed of before leaving.
Parking is a serious issue. I would approximate about 20 available spaces in the parking lot, with only one space readily visible for handicapped parking. Street parking is available but be careful not to park in front of one of the numerous driveway entrances to other buildings.
There's so much to choose from here. Sushi, crepes, tacos, Chinese, sliders, vegan. Tons of places to sit in the shade or the sun as you wish, and a stage for live music.
The crowd is eclectic and make for great people watching. Everyone is welcome and it's a very casual environment. Exceedingly clean, and huge on recycling, including composting.
