RoKC North is such a fun location. With a great ratio of bouldering and tall wall, there’s space for everyone. They offer classes, have running groups and yoga classes. The staff are always welcoming and the community is tight knit as well. For parents, there are many tables with areas to work. This location has a smaller gym. Parking here is a bit of a nightmare, especially during peak hours.

I have had a membership to RoKC for about four months now, and I'm always happy to walk into this gym. They have a good mix of bouldering, top-rope, lead, and auto-belays. I took their Top-Rope belay course and the instructors were so friendly and helpful! They were great with making sure everyone was understanding the step we went over before moving on. The only thing I have noticed which is worth a warning, it can be a bit toasty in the gym on summer days (but what climbing gym isn't to be honest).

This has been my nearby home gym for a number of years.

They have auto belays, top rope, and lead, as well as bouldering.

If you are lucky and catch them in stock, the owners mom makes frozen peanut butter & banana graham cracker treats!

They have a wrap around tall wall in one good sized room with a small section in the middle. It has a small slab section, which also typically has some easier routes. They have a tall slightly back slanted area which is lead only. ... And a variance of things in between, mostly medium height, but some corners and such. They usually have a good variety of interesting problems set - which gradually rotate.

The front room, side from the front desk, includes a small conventional gym, then the bouldering area curves around a couple of times giving a pretty good variety. There are a couple of spots which are over hung.

They also have a yoga / community room. Everything is on the first floor.

The staff are friendly, the community is generally very friendly overall, granted there are tons of different people coming in.

Not the tallest walls or biggest facility in town, but it is a nice place and definitely worth while if you are looking for a nearby climbing option.

We love ROKC. It’s a great place to take the family for both bouldering and belay climbing. They have three auto belays that are great for younger children. And a couple for more difficult runs as well.

RoKC is a great rock climbing gym. The staff was very knowledgeable about their equipment and explained everything clearly and answered all our questions. We will be back soon. Overall a great experience. We went on a day that was 95° and sunny outside, but inside even on the high walls, it was comfortable with the AC in the lower 80's.

A great change of pace if you’re looking for a new activity. My son had his 8th birthday party here and the host was patient, laidback, and very helpful. We forgot our cutlery and plates and the staff happily took care of us. We’ll definitely be back!

A true gem of the city, and better than most gyms I've visited in bigger markets. While the other ROKC locations are also great the north location's old industrial setting, and awesome staff take the cake.

Earlier this year my wife and I joined RoKC North to explore climbing for fitness, and we have been very pleased with the facilities, staff and overall experience.

The surprise benefit was the yoga classes, particularly the Thursday, Saturday and Sunday classes with Cole. Cole brings a great combination of spirituality and physicality to the classes that has improved our fitness, health and mental wellbeing. And he does so while creating a fun and relaxing atmosphere. He checks in with each student throughout the practice, making the classes accessible for all levels of fitness, age, and capability.

We now participate in yoga as much, if not more, than climbing, and we always look forward to classes.

The staff were friendly and the sign up was very quick and easy on their tablets the walls were not easy but they have bouldering walls and regular rock climbing in a harness they have equipment there for rental including chalk, harnesses, and shoes. I would definitely go again! The monthly membership is 65$

Great facility, good climbing, not crowded, and the yoga with Cole was excellent.

My go-to climbing gym in KC.
Great selection of tall wall and bouldering routes. The routes are always fun and challenging.
The staff are always super welcoming and friendly. I took both my top rope and lead classes through North and really appreciated the instructors.
Music playlist is always top notch too!
Only wish is that tall wall routes would get reset a little more often.

Took my 11 year old niece here for my first time climbing. The staff was amazingly friendly, helpful, & knowledgeable. The routes themselves look to be well maintained and you can tell they change them up from time to time. Seeing as how I think I may have just found my new hobby/workout, I will definitely hopefully be making this a regular thing

Usually me and my husband go skating every weekend but we decided to go rock climbing instead. What a blast. Staff were kind and so helpful. We will definitely be back! 💕 6 stars if I could!

It is a little pricey for just an hour, but you get a full day pass so you can stay as long as you want or go in the morning and the afternoon. The employees were all very helpful explaining everything, fitting harnesses, and showing our kids how everything works. They have a lower height bouldering area with side to side paths and a climb over area. They also have a large vertical area with many different levels of climbs set up with auto-belay. Our group had kids from 5 (42" and 40lbs) to 11 (63" and 90+lbs)who all were able to climb multiple areas and the auto-belay worked great for each one. There were obviously several other groups with adults and kids of varying heights and weights all climbing and having fun.

My family joined for the climbing and while I've enjoyed starting to learn to climb, I keep coming because of the yoga classes. The Thursday yin and Saturday Vinyasa classes with Cole have become a regular part of my week and I'm trying to add in the Sunday Hatha yoga class some weeks. My flexibility and balance are improving and some nagging injuries are feeling better from the deep stretches in the yin class. Appreciate Cole's attention to providing modifications/props as needed and making sure each student is getting what they need from class.

Caters to children who are trying to get into climbing. Everyone has been nice to my 4.5 year old. I teach him the basics and the etiquette. His pass is free bc of his age. They offer harness and shoe rental for just under $9. This place is great.

Came to climb, left with a life lesson from Merriam that's going to stay with me: "Falling is a skill that requires practice."

And thanks to her help, I didn't fall this time. :)

We took our 5-year-old daughter to one of their "Little Senders Camp" instruction courses. The front desk was courteous and our instructor, George, was amazing with the kids. He took time to learn the kids names and get them stretched for the class.

Our daughter already asked when she can go back because she had such a good time. My wife and I are also looking forward to adding some climbing in our future. I would recommend ROKC to anyone interested in a good place in the Northland to climb.

Had a great experience, front desk staff were helpful, especially Audrey. Such a nice, clean gym, great walls for bouldering and auto belay for those days you can't find a partner.

We had such a good experience here! We came mid morning on a weekday, and practically had the place to ourselves. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The student rate + equipment rental was blessedly affordable. Our group had a great time and didn’t want to leave when it was over. We will absolutely be back!
